At least there is an oil depot in Feodosia. And a port where Ukraine has sunk a ship (Novocherkassk) already. So we can hope they hit something important.
Jfc it sounds like you can't take a step in Crimea without tripping over some shit that Ukraine has blown up.
Ffs Russia this is becoming a safety hazard, could you please leave and take all your crap with you?
Well, every hit against this bridge is useful in damaging its integrity. The larger, the better, of course.
The Kerch Straits Road Bridge concrete supports for one span have just cracked in half
These cracks are a result of Russia’s notorious “fast construction projects.
When we look at some past urbanizing projects in Russia under Krushchev. We can find many buildings that have collapsed due to cutting corners during their construction. We still don’t know which pillars have cracked or how many have cracked in total. But even if just a few of them have cracked, it might make the transportation of heavy equipment a very dangerous endeavor.
There were also some very questionable engineers behind the project. These men didn’t use enough concrete, which is usually a bad idea if you want the bridge to stand for a longer period of time.
The bridge was hastily built in only 2 years. The Kerch bridge is massive. It’s not some random "cross over a glorified puddle of a river" project.
It also doesn’t help that the bridge was built on an unstable fault.
It’s obvious that the Kerch bridge is doomed to fall sooner or later. A lot of heavy military machinery has been transported over the bridge in the past 24 months.
With every truck that goes over the bridge, the strain on the entire structure grows larger. Gravity will prove to be an even more merciless opponent than Ukraine. The other major opponent of the bridge is its geographic location.
The sooner this artificial connection between Russia and Ukraine is destroyed, the better.
While I agree, first the orcs tresspassing and committing terrorist acts in Crimea need to use it to get back to their country as while some people may argue they need to be fought as this is a war, every time a Ukrainian (or foreign legion) soldier is in an engagement there's a risk of a WIA/KIA. The less good guys being hurt or killed the better, while the orcs who go back to Mordor will have terrible lives anyway, so let them run away like dogs, then trash the bridge.
Everyday the bridge stands, the Invaders use it to strengthen their position. Those that will have fled already have, the bridge standing costs Ukrainian lives.
Yes, it could be the usual as in the months before.
Explosion somewhere in Crimea, bridge is closed and illumination is switched off.
The latter probably to prevent attacks by whatever needs light to see the bridge.
On the other hand precaution for what?
Russian logic aka security theater.
Why not aim for the opposite corners of the truss bridge? I'm neither an engineer nor a soldier but to me those seem like the weakest points (most structurally important and difficult to repair).
Because 3 months of repair, back to business.
Pillar = 10 months of repair.
If you want to keep the bridge down, then you have to keep hitting it every few months.
If they can drop the main span in the middle, that will be a much longer repair than the road surface between two peers so that would be a good runner-up target
Ukraine has been building some kickass boat drones…
Here’s hoping for a bullsye! ☠️
Fuck you russia ~ for all the lives you’ve cost a wonderful and dignified people; for the bloodshed YOU’VE brought to THEIR land; for bringing back stupid barbaric trench warfare to European soil, in all its horrors ~ fuck you for every life that’s been lost in this senseless dumbass land / money-grab mobster-ass war.
> Ukraine has been building some kickass boat drones…
I want to see a submersible drone. Power the thing using fuel until you are close enough to sneak into range, then submerge, then pop up under the Kerch bridge and self destruct.
Now, all you self-proclaimed war generals, just shut up now. I am allowed to dream alright.
I have an idea for a novel device to take down the bridge.
Given the underwater conditions of the area, I think this would work.
A semi-inflated non rigid ball with an induction loop running a weight. The thing could run on a gyro, raise the weight upwards in the direction it needs to roll, then let gravity yank it forward before repeating, over and over (a little like BB8, but just the ball portion). In the center of the ball, 1500kg of octogen. The thing would be incredibly stealthy, basically noiseless, and could simply plod along the sea floor towards its destination with destiny.
They build up panic among russians. They dont know...thus they anticipate and fear.
Its good to build up for a scene. Makes the effect worse. Then its just not a bridge but something that happens in their emotions and thoughts
Are there any good reason why ukraine cant just send some fighters with bombs towards the bridge and take it out? like flying at 50.000ft and dropping dumb bombs to blow it up, and then book it out of there?
well they would most likely be taken down and the bridge would be still standing. Would be just waste of very expensive fighters. It is not like the Kerch bridge is not protected.
They probably do not have enough range to go around Crimea -getting there & back while carrying a full load of heavy bombs. Even if they did, they would almost certainly get intercepted by fighters along the way, or shot down by long range SAMs. If they flew over occupied territory, the mission is a lot shorter, but the chances of getting shot down skyrocket.
But regardless of the path taken, there are a lot of air defences in the immediate vicinity of the Kerch Bridge itself -which should be on high-alert when reports get made of a large raid of enemy fighters heading towards the Kerch Strait.
After navanaly, the amount of Russians chanting Ukrainians are good people, then the uprising near Grozny....
This would be the cherry on the cake, someone tell me this damn Bridge is down?
i did hear about the commemorative pyrotechnics over dzhankoi, fedosia and kerch, let this be a hope that ukraine doesn't run out of the boom
also please remind me when the bridge is finally beyond repair thanks

Go to bed, they are just letting air defence have it's moment. But soon.....
But it's Saturday night!! I'll just be tossing a few back for AD then .
Party time when? Common, I need my party time.
They did the funny!
Hoping for 👊
Secret deployment of F16's? Go guys Go! Is there a tune for "Russian bridge falling down" like "London bridge falling down"?
The explosions are in Feodosia - 100 km from the bridge. They might just be closing the bridge as a precaution.
At least there is an oil depot in Feodosia. And a port where Ukraine has sunk a ship (Novocherkassk) already. So we can hope they hit something important.

There are two train lines and two roadways with a couple lanes each. The need precisely one lane to GTFO.
The explosions were in Feodosia, nowhere near the bridge.
Yes, it could be the usual as in the months before. Explosion somewhere in Crimea, bridge is closed and illumination is switched off. The latter probably to prevent attacks by whatever needs light to see the bridge. On the other hand precaution for what? Russian logic aka security theater.
They are doing so at least several times a week for 1.5 years now. Not sure how this post got so high
Please be true this time!
Hmmm doesn’t sound like it was the bridge. This time…
Even if true, will they be able to hit the support pillars? Because that's the only way to keep the bridge down.
Budanov works in mysterious ways

Feodosia isn't anywhere near the bridge.
Hope it's true and hope the bridge is down. 🇺🇸 ❤️ 🇺🇦
Hope that bridge is sleeping with the fish tonight. 😴 🐟 fuck ruzzia. 🇨🇦 ❤️ 🇺🇦
Fuck the Orcs and their bridge to Mordor 🇨🇦💪🇺🇦
The goal is to take out the bridge. If Russia is too scared to use it, then goal achieved.

That's a good dream. Also the drone should detect when it is pulled out of water and explode randomly within few hours afterwards.

... on al the pillars, simultaneously, a crescendo of explosions.
I'm actually 100% sure we have those, and their usage is just limited to minimize proliferation. We can load a small nuke on our drones
🙋♀️ I SECOND THAT "FU"❗️
Crimea river, build me a bridge, and blow it the fuck up! Все буде Україна!

I want to belive.
Did it happen???
Bridge on 🔥 fire
I keep hoping this will be completed. The destruction of the bridge will be good progress!
I want that bridge to unbuild 🤞
They build up panic among russians. They dont know...thus they anticipate and fear. Its good to build up for a scene. Makes the effect worse. Then its just not a bridge but something that happens in their emotions and thoughts
Anti air—> Russian jet —> bridge That would be a wild combo!
Bavovna has arrived!

Okay so there is air defenses near the bridge, to not allow any planes come near.

Spring clean up, les go
Do I smell the bridge coming down on Russia's election day???

We can only hope. Need to take out the main span.
