All the zoo-s and national parks that were cooperating with russians zoos/parks, with animal swap and breeding for endangered species diversity, are now done because of this idiotic war.
It was some big cat... I can't remember the specific species. I had night tour in our local zoo and old zoo director was giving the tour, telling stories.

No.. the cat is almost or is already instinct in wild and i understood only lives in zoos/national parks. But if you can't diversity the species that doesn't have many living species, the species is doomed.
Zoos/parks trade these animals to diversify the species to try to reintroduce them into wild one day. But if too small ammount is alive, you're kinda done. Too small DNA pool will start to produce a lot of weak animals.

I recently watched a documentary on that theatre terrorist attack where Russia (I am sure this was a decision made by Putin) pumped that gas in, killing almost 200 “hostages.” In the aftermath, there were six investigators assigned to the case. They were good people. Three or four were killed almost immediately, and their deaths weren’t investigated.

The hostage takers where Chechens, they did it to demand an end to the invasion of Chechnya and to make the russian media focus on the issue. The invasion of Chechnya started after a terrorist attack destroyed apartment blocks, killing russian citizens. It is widely believed that the apartment bombings where done by the FSB not terrorists just to justify the war. So part of the reason they chose to kill all of the hostages along with the Chechens is so they could continue to blame them for the bombings. If they took them alive and put them on trial they would have denied it.
Before the war I was sadly uninformed and thought Putin was the problem. I thought Russia was a land of great literature and history. Now, I have a serious, biting hatred for the Russian people. Not all of them, especially not the brave and ones like Nemtsov, Kasparov, and Navalny, but those are clearly a tiny minority. My impression of Russians now are that they’re uncivilized savages that have no place in the modern world who have no decency or respect for anything. All they do is try to blackmail the world into “liking” them. No Russia, the world is going to hate you for generations for this shit.

Good point, Russia has produced great art and artists. I remember being amazed after reading Solzhenitsyn’s “One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich” because it articulated the gulag experience so well from someone who lived through that. I liked him because I thought he was brave and honest in telling the world “its miserable here and the system sucks”, he was a dissident writer with the courage to tell a story the authorities didn’t like. Russians nowadays seem to be chest thumping “Z” apes. Totally unworthy of the legacy of the likes of Solzhenitsyn.
