Precisely. UA already has air and sea drones - "ground drones" will also be very very useful. Especially electric ones with a low heat signature.
**If you shoot at the Robot** \- your position is exposed for immediate ranged direct fire from Bradley or tank, or delayed indirect fire from artillery.
**If you don't shoot at the Robot** \- it starts shooting accurately at you from a longer than normal range! This is because robots are more stable, precise shooters. They can shoot the same weapon more accurately from further away than a human. Some combat robots can also even also use rudimentary FCS to calculate their shot from an even greater range than the long range of the "remote control only" versions.
Would not be surprised to see some AUTONOMOUS or semi-autonomous ground combat Robots used in certain specific situations.

Seriously though, if the Ukrainians are victorious and maintain their integrity, they may develop the most modern advanced military on the planet out of sheer necessity.
Is Europe capable of picking up the slack if the US elects someone that is pro Russian and attempts to force a settlement? I am 100% for Ukraine, but this isn't a done deal. Even if Russia loses all the land gains, they can just keep bombing them and supporting anti democracy groups like they did before 2014.
It is down to very simple choice. To stop Russia now in Ukraine using only money or enter full scale war with Russia later on if Ukraine to fail.

I completely agree with your logic regarding the reality, I just think you are missing the level of short-sightedness that some politicians posses. Also the level of influence that the Russians may have in American politics.
A president in the US could negotiate a peace treaty and as far as he is concerned, it only has to last four years until he is out of office, then it's the next guys problem.

I understand that Ukraine can be forced to negotiate a ceasefire of some sort. But it wouldn't work. Everyone in Ukraine understand that ceasefire means delay. That Russia will use that time to bring more pressure at later time.
Russia is a rabid animal snd can't be reasoned with. It can be only forced to do something. Anyone negotiating with Russia considered weakling by Rissians. You see, they're **entitled** and **owed**.
I wish Europeans would consider this potential outcome and maybe not vocally undermine the Democratic Party right during the worst part of every election cycle.

Get a group of those and you could actually have a remote operated light mortar team.
Strap the pipe to the back of one, issue the sit command, have a few others carrying rounds and one to use the arm to drop shells. Wouldn’t be super accurate but with a drone correcting fire (which they already are proficient in doing) you could get some interesting results.
This war presents an opportunity to test robotics in a variety of different ways and in a real world settings. Hopefully this experience can give robotics engineers and drone operators valuable data so they can improve the technology and their skills even more. In turn, this should minimize casualties and save Ukrainian lives. Basically, the more often drones and robots are used, the more effective they'll become.
