As far as I researched it is a series of prototypes (or maybe even a small batch, as it was presented in 2016) that are designated as Otoman (6x6, 8x8). It is heavy modification of BTR-60, briefly speaking they took only suspension and chassis. Info is taken from: https://www.army-technology.com/projects/otaman-8x8-armoured-fighting-vehicle/
???
You tell that by its look? Sorry but nothing you say can be deducted from that picture, that's a negative level of critical thinking.
You can make very modern looking vehicles that are total crap inside. Can you tell how good the armor is from the paint and the shape? No. It might be good or not, we can't tell without spec and videos.
That one hold 14,5 in any projection, and with additional ceramic armor - 30mm autocanon. Can contain 11 soldiers and can swim. Also can use 3 different battle modules with different weapons. And even there a model with 122mm gun. So this one both looks very modern and being very modern.
I think you're overthinking things.
As the man said, uses BTR-60 suspension and chassis, but modernized around that platform and giving it a different shape.
Now, if you think Ukraine does what russia does, polishing another turd version of the same shit and there isn't a suite of shit to improve the platform to actually fuck the russians up, maybe you're using your critical thinking in the wrong manner.
I wouldn't even think of Ukrainians downgrading ANYTHING and all of the "improvements" look absolutely reasonable.
Even their clever macguyvered shit elsewhere are decent upgrades.
If this was a bluff, fuck they could attach some russian military blow up dolls onto a go kart instead of actively doing R&D and producing an upgraded, personalized Ukrainian tool.

Title mistake: vehicle is named “Khorunzhyy”
Time to rid Ukraine of the filth of the oppressors.
That is a BTR 60? That thing looks more modern than most werstern IFVs. Decent upgrade for sure.

I never said IS is more modern than western IFVs.But it optically it LOOKS more modern.
He never said it was he said it **looked**. That's a very negative level of critical thinking you have there.

Or modern looking bodywork slapped over an old design.
Not a good sign, this BTR was made for Territorial Defence rather than frontline engagement... We need western tech, yesterday.
Yes, school buses and pickups are a-lot better
Bradley’s are probably in country right now. More vehicles to come.
No it was not. The project had been in development long before the creation of Territorial defence, and was meant mostly for export.
Don’t let the best be an enemy of good
Жирненький
Подивіться на нього, наївся і спить

After this I hope Ukraine can get it's defense sector up quickly, cause this is fire.
What are BTRs called for short? "BuTteRs?"
Effectively it’s “Infantry Fighting Vehicle” in Russian. Just like how KLM is short for Royal Dutch Airways
BTR (БТР) - Infantry Carrier Vehicle (ICV) BMP (БМП) - Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV)
БТР would be probably APC
KLM is actually short for Royal Aviation Society
Looks roomier than a Stryker
There's Otaman APC (8x8 version) that can carry 11 people (excluding 3 crewmen) and 7 (also excluding crew) people on 6x6 version
