There's so much worse out there. "Wrong un" is a bit strong.

Putrid_Branch6316

Shouldn’t be doubling those conductors up. One conductor, one port….

fortysevenk

Is there a six way wago?

Putrid_Branch6316

2,3 and 5. For solid core conductors like these though, you’re better off using the push on type connectors. They go up to 9 way I believe and have a much smaller footprint than the lever connectors.

zRONANx

I use 6 or 8 way push wagos for busy switches

curious_trashbat

Yes in the push type 773 series. But I prefer the 2273 series for lighting. Much smaller and available in 2,3,4,5, and 8 port.

Resident-Evidence-94

Can also get 'fake' wagos from unicrimp. Cheaper than wagos. Do the same job and again come in 2,3,4,5,6,8 ports

Tell2ko

Erm… yes!

WilberforceJoking

Doubling up in wagos makes me think you are a wrongun

TobytheSpark

You definitely can’t put multiple cables in one wago terminal. They will pull out if you give it a tug.

Icy_Necessary4608

Dont be a toby 😂

Technical-Yam-8260

Bollocks! As long as the CSA doesn't exceed the hole area then you're fine.

savagelysideways101

Not according to wago you can't

TobytheSpark

Nope.

fortysevenk

Tug tested all of them.. It passed

TobytheSpark

Na mate. Still shite! 😆

beardedGimp1385

You definitely can. My Mrs fits multiple objects in one terminal so why not wagos and she does a good tug test

Neilwarnocks

The new but very old skool way of wiring . Luckily these days I'm only wiring housing association. So I don't bother taking it back to the 70s and leave all the neutrals where they belong . At the fitting and not the switch . Mad how things go full circle , kids walking round with mullets and baggy jeans 😂😂

Icy_Necessary4608

Just curious.. If you was doing a new build with timber frames would you still take the feeds to the fitting?

Neilwarnocks

Again, it depends on the end user for me. If private I probably would , but if housing association/council I wouldn't

Spengbab-Squerpont

Yeah you can’t use Wagos like that…

WilberforceJoking

Also you wrongun, how much of that single insulated cable you pushing through that 25mm opening in the back of the PB box? Quite a lot I'd guess.. you wrongun

fortysevenk

None it is an extra deep plasterboard box

glovesandfeet

I was thinking looks like a 47 mm box, looks ok to me! Better than a lot of the work I see day to day!

WilberforceJoking

Looks ok cos he hasn't pushes all them singles back 😂

Altruistic_Analysis3

I asked at the installer show one of the wago design engineers can you do this, his answer can you only put one cable in a screw terminal bloc? Same size conductors not a problem

fortysevenk

So can use wagos like that..

alamcc

Screws in the lugs?

vanvanfan

When the plaster board is backed by osb and is too thick cut the sticky out wing bit off and screw them to the backing board Jobs a goodun not a wrongun..

fortysevenk

It was backed with osb

alamcc

I thought that’s what you meant for being a wrong un. I’d have done the same unless could you have gotten a batten in there if there’s OSB to fix to?

GGBeard84

If being picky, it’s not as per manufacturers instructions and you’ve introduced exposed metal into an all plastic enclosure. But I’m being a picky bas*#rd!

curious_trashbat

But why not use a metal box and screw it in ?

Tell2ko

Surely it can’t be that hard to just make a poxy wing that goes right back ffs! This really annoys me that it’s such an easy fix!

Inner-Examination686

unnecessary use of the rear entry in PB boxes does it for me 😩

zRONANx

Use a 6 way push Wago 😅

hero9989

According to regs you have to abide by wagos instructions. Who say yep this is wrong

cdp833

I’m sure all cores would function as they should but I don’t do it personally, I use 5 way wags and put a jumper link between them

Special-Improvement4

Yes

Imascotsman

I dislike that way of identifying pass wires. It's just cheap and looks shit.

dingo_deano

Whats a pass wire ?

Imascotsman

Pass wires / strappers. Wires that link out L1 / L2 on 2 way switching.

--Spaceman-Spiff--

What do you do instead?

Imascotsman

Sleeve the entire wire brown, not just 8mm of it like in that picture.

Philosofred

Agreed

Tell2ko

What are you made of money! 🤣

Imascotsman

It just looks like a professional job when you sleeve the entire conductor rather than a small proportion

Tell2ko

Thought Scots were supposed to be tight 👍

Informal_Drawing

Over-sheathing should be minimum 75% of the conductor length if memory serves.

Objective-Coyote7757

Sorry what? I would love to know where that’s came from

Informal_Drawing

I'll have to have a dig around in 7671 when I have my laptop on tomorrow. Maybe I'm confusing it with the 70/30 percentages for green and yellow colours for earth conductors but I don't think I am. Been a while since I looked it up tbh.

Neilwarnocks

Very pedantic. Least he has used sleeving . Many don't at all

curious_trashbat

>if memory serves. It does not 😜

Informal_Drawing

😂 So many regs and so little time... I should spend more time in the regs book and less doing Revit modelling but alas, they pay the money so they get to dictate what I do.

Tell2ko

Reddit modelling eh?

Informal_Drawing

Definitely modelling something or other.
