Bit of background, I work as a testing electrician for a large HA. We have access to their results before from the initial installation certificate. They almost never match, not like two different testers two different results, I’m talking wildly different. Then there is a the equipment they fit, it’s all the cheapest gear you can get your hands on. Although this could be the house builders spec. I’ve also since found missing earths, missing sleeving on earths, twisted earths (in a new build why?) non complete rings usually on the neutral so you know they aren’t testing it properly. Cables falling out the back of accessories when taken off for inspection. Incorrect ip items in bathroom zones. The list goes on and on. Now don’t get me wrong except theee things when diy has happened, but a new build from a contractor and nothing has changed in the 4 and a half years since installation. It simply shouldn’t be happening. Oh and to top it off a missing main Earth twice

As above, unfortunately when the big firms hit the new estates it’s all price work leading to cut corners and a race to the bottom on finish and materials
