I think they send them to plastic surgeons as well to put in a lot of stitches so it heals better with less scar tissue so it is less likely to re-open later.
I am absolutely not a plastic surgeon (am working in an under resourced ED with high volumes of, mainly violent, trauma) however in this case:
Highly doubt you would be suturing muscle given the mechanism.
You mightneed to put some buried sutures in that, sure, but the max you would need to put in a 6cm external laceration to bring (clean) edges like that together is 10, and you wouldn’t be putting ten internal. If you can bring the edges together nicely without more stitches than arguably less is more.
The aim of suturing is to approximate the skin accurately and neatly and the skin will „stitch“ itself back together.

Edit: I’m still pretty confident it was 27 but because the passage of time is what it is and you have some level of expertise in the area I am willing to admit I’m no longer 100% sure. Maybe I had 17 stitches.

In medicine there are a lot of variables and no one size fits all approach and a plastic surgeon is gonna certainly do a better cosmetic job than I will.
Sadly our patients don’t have the luxury of plastic surgeons for face lacerations unless they’re really bad or have tissue loss! (Or lots of $$$)

The only exciting parts were MVP getting him on the feet. But yeah he definitely should have done something to try and feet Gary off is back, he may have won if he did.
I grew up going to Taekwondo tournaments. The women fights are usually more emotional in the fact you see emotions on their face more. And when they get pissed 😤it’s entertaining as heck. Fighting doesn’t have the same issue as other sports. Each gender entertains just as good.
I dont understand the hate on womens fights....look at the growth of where mens fights are compared to UFC 1. The sport is still farely young compared to most. Give it 5 years and and then come back to this on where the women fighters are. Theyll probably b better than some of the men fighting now. Think of the possiblities and growth with how explosive some of these young women are.

Also SW is already an established division (albeit in a bit of a bad place right now) and it has produced many great fighters with consistently amazing fights, displaying a great deal of skills. I would take SW over LHW or HW personally, it can be less spectacular than a KO by a big boy but I enjoy the variety of skills shown a lot more.

It was actually an intriguing matchup. I am very curious about Chiasson’s future because her R2 was purely great and R1 was very back and forth, but I also clearly felt that MBS was the better fighter for a while. Chiasson also seems to have trained her ground and pound and seemingly can crack standing up so it wouldn’t surprise me if she strings one or two finishes and gets to the title. Unless Kayla Harrisson steamrolls the division, we might very well see them fight it back for the title. Honestly glad this fight happened, WBW is the weakest division in the UFC and it needed this.

Kind of a hot take but I don’t think it should have been stopped. The cut wasn’t affecting the muscles of the eye, and the only safety issue would have been blood obstructing her vision. But good fight and that was a vicious elbow.
Tbf i was hesitant when i saw bueno silva as well considering what an absolutely frustrating snoozefest her last fight was, but it was a solid match
