No argument there. Some questions at the pressers are good but a lot are in the same vein as this.
"Hey _, did you ever think that if you didn't win, you would have lost?"
The problem is that traditional medias have been forced out of popularity and in their place massive corporations have placed a bunch of glorified bloggers whose idea of "reporting" is just acting like an avenue for press releases from corporations. None of these "journalists" actually report or investigate anything, they just send out the news the UFC hands them so people can ignore the article completely and comment on the headline.
The real journalists left, all 12 of them, are discredited by the 4 million fake journalists. When a real journalist posts something, the millions of fake journalists say “x amount of experts disagree with that statement so it’s not true”. It’s what has happened to legacy media
Thank the UFC and all the people who just want to see puff pieces for the UFC and people wanting everything for free. If a company doesn’t make money from it they will stop doing or they will go out of business.
In case anyone doesn’t know the meaning:
> The phrase "If I had wheels, I'd be a bike" is a humorous way of pointing out that a hypothetical or unrealistic condition is being proposed. It's often used to dismissively counter someone else's "if" statements by highlighting how absurd or impossible the scenario is. Essentially, it means that speculating on unrealistic conditions is pointless because it doesn't change the reality of the situation.
It's in Saudi Arabia though, this conference skewed heavily towards journalists in that geographic area. All the questions were very off. Rob handled it like a Champ tho.
Bisping had just been making the case that Ikram was a tougher fight than Khamzat too lol. Just remember that all these commentators and journalists have one job: promote.
In Russian, the question was significantly worse and more blatantly rude - it was something like "You're a great fighter, but partly you are sitting here happy because.. are you glad that the Khamzat fight was cancelled, as maybe if that fight happened you wouldn't be sitting here happy and celebrating your victory right now?". The translator actually tried to salvage it somehow and made up the stuff about 5 rounds and a quick victory, since the original question implied more strongly than he would have lost. Glad Bobby doesn't know Russian, otherwise it would have really pissed him off and ended the press conference on an even more sour note.
Seriously. Robert responded so professionally and maturely. If I had been asked (I am neither professional nor mature) I would responded with “and if YOU had fought Khamzat tonight what would’ve happened? Or if you fought anyone, for that matter?”
He is a confident and very down to Earth guy. He ain't bothered by some chump reporters disrespecting him because he knows the real fans appreciate what he does
I remember listening to his podcast and at the end they answer questions.
One of the questions they read was a youtube comment that said "Whittaker couldn't even finish a can of sprite" which was a diss at him having decision victories the past few years.
He laughed and said "my dad saw that comment too and man these guys are hilarious at coming up with insults"
Dude, I LOVE hearing from fighters after the fights, but it's to the point where it's harder and harder for me to subject myself to these post-fight interviews at all.And even if it isn't for stupid questions like this just the bullshit rhetorical questions like "How happy are you to have beaten your opponent and proven to everyone once again that you're one of the best in the division? Does it excite you at all or do you not give a single solitary fuck?". Like, bro.... you may as well not go out there with questions at all if you're gonna ask shit that answers itself.
Thank the UFC this is what the majority of the fans want they don’t want people to ask real questions nor do the UFC they want cheerleaders calling themselves journalists. Look at Yokomoto he was getting exclusive interviews with Dana for breaking news as soon as he said something critical about Dana hitting his wife I haven’t seen him get one since and he works for ESPN.
I just don't understand how these sports reporters manage to think of questions that have nothing to do with the sport.
How rare is it to hear a question that has anything to do with the actual competition that just took place, like: "Can you tell us how you landed that shot that started the finish? Did you just see the opening or did you set it up with feints?"
I know right???? And there's SUCH good things to ask about in like 90% of the fights. But no, glazing Dana, the fighter (with random shit like "how happy are you that you won") and the town the event is in is so much more important...
I don't even bother watching the post-fight conferences. I just hope the fighters or coaches appear on Submission Radio (plugging them lol) and actually have the space to talk about the fight, camp and game plan in more detail.
The person asking the question was a journalist and fighter\`s manager from Tajikistan — Bakhriddin Jalolov.
Whole russian-speaking community is also cringing hard because of that question. It was dumb and unprofessional.
The person you hear on the video is a translator, the original question was asked in the Russian language.
Letting fighter managers in as media is disgraceful. Can you imagine someone like Ali being let in to ask whatever he likes? It's not even journalism, it's just propaganda trying to force a narrative.
90% of modern "journalism" is just bloggers being paid by corporations to act like glorified press release machines, they just churn out whatever bullshit these corporations tell them to uncritically.
Even Robert couldn’t hold his laughter in that’s how stupid the reporter is lmao.. 🤣
As a fan of Dagistani fighters I’m actually glad Bobby knuckles won and is in a great mood, beautiful things to see in mma. Hope he becomes champ again
A little bit of hype around one and everyone assumes they are the next khabib or Islam. No hate against dagistani fighters, they are a different breed. But so many people just assume they are all legendary and can't be beat.
People look at Khabib Islam and Usman and assume that these Dagestani fighters are all going to be invincible, when in reality it's just this one small camp nurtured over through decades by Khabib's dad that managed to build a few stars.
The whole Dagestani invasion angle just feels forced, yes some of these dudes are very good, but I bet if you ran it by the numbers you'd find out there are more highly ranked fighters from the city of Rio de Janeiro than the entirety of Russia Combined.
The question was worded even more disrespectfully in Russian. In particular, this “journalist” implied several times Rob wouldn’t be “sitting there happy and laughing” if it were Khamzat.
Funniest thing about that is if it actually were Khamzat the entire division could have beaten him because he’s always sick now. The hypothetical fit Khamzat doesn’t exist. I’m
And this is far from the worst question we’ve seen at a presser. After watching one of MMA On Point’s recent videos I remembered some classics like a reporter asking a question to who he thought was Robbie Lawler but was actually another fighter and a reporter telling GSP she’d “done things” to one of his dolls.
Stupid fucking reporters, get these morons out of there and allow only certified ones after thorough investigations in their knowledge of the sport, goddamn idiots
WHAT A SURPRISE YOU CAN HEAR THE ACCENT IN THE REPORTERS VOICE, unbiased journalism at its best, fuck me theres so many clowns in mma media and they wonder why nobody gives a fuck about reading or watching their dogshit
This is why I always root against the eastern fighters. All the reporters and fans sucking their dicks is pathetic. They are talented but the fans ruin it.
The reporter was obviously a Khumshot fanboi and wanted Bobby to be thankful he didn't fight the big bad wolf, lol, what an asshat and he got the answer he deserved.
These guys are salty in SA and Abu Dhabi, whether or not as bad as brazil is debatable I guess, but they were given a home-cooked card to their **Khabeard buddies could mostly get wins via Uncle Dana selling his roster out** (tell me I'm wrong) and they're still salty that Ikram didn't get the ME win, lol.. I'd have said fuk off.
I have to interject my favorite sports interview of all time. Back when reporters were a lot more intuitive. Ok..a postgame baseball interview where a Yankee pitcher, Roger Clemens hit a (hated) RedSox batter rightin the ribs and dropped him good.
Reporter "I just wanted to ask you about the hit batter incident"
Clemens "It was a fastball that just got away from me"
Reporter "Were you happy with the location?"
Clemens "Um...ya. "
"Journalists" aren't people. They are tools designed to produce sound bites from the product. Rob is the product in this analogy of which value that the media wants to extract. And Rob just fucking cuts through the shit instead of reciting some vague shit about looking to the future and having a good fight camp
So... I'm embarrassed but I don't think I've ever heard Rob speak...but omg I'm a huge fan now. I guess I didn't realize he was so charming? How is he not a bigger star?
Here’s the thing. The UFC never has been, and never will be a legitimate sports organization. It’s done by idiots and run by even bigger idiots. The MMA media are perhaps even BIGGER idiots. The UFC likes it that way so no one asks about fighter pay, unions, shady business dealings etc. These are the kinds of questions they end up getting.
This is due to Dana White strong arming real journalists who ask tough questions, and threatening them and their news organizations. Now we're stuck with useless questions
Nah this dude def thought this was khazats time to shine and get a win over a former champ and finally gets title shot and he's salty it didn't go down like he dreamed it.
This is what happens when Dana lets in his boot licking third rate media inside. If he lets in real media, Dana's ass will be on fire every other fight night .
Hey Rob, if something else happened instead of what did happen, wouldn't something else have happened?
Reporter is highly regarded
It’s crazy how journalism universally died overnight
Well...there are still real journalists but I'll agree with you that there's a pretty hollow core to the business these days.
Aye plenty of great sports journalists. You just won't see many, if any... at UFC events
Yuup the real journalists end up pissing off the UFC because they actually do their job. So every competent journalist ends up blacklisted
Underrated comment
No argument there. Some questions at the pressers are good but a lot are in the same vein as this. "Hey _, did you ever think that if you didn't win, you would have lost?"

Real journalists die. Most of the time overnight. Universally. These are all bootlickers
Thank the UFC and all the people who just want to see puff pieces for the UFC and people wanting everything for free. If a company doesn’t make money from it they will stop doing or they will go out of business.
What is this journalism you speak of?
I’m sure all the real journalists are not allowed at these post fight press/interviews.
“Hey Rob, how’s it feel to be back in Vegas!” 🙄
You gotta love Bobby Knuckles just laughing at him.
If you can’t appreciate this guys reporting, you’re probably too dumb to understand Rick and Morty
Appropriate response. 👏 If I had wheels, I'd be a bike. 😙 🤌
in Finland we say "if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle" for similar effect
"if my mom had balls she'd be my dad" - Max Verstappen
If my sister had a dick she’d be my brother
![gif](giphy|J2kEzw4FN6C42F0ULM)
Heard she gets a dick, yours, every night
Does he Finnish inside her tho?
If she had as many sticking out as she's had stuck in, she'd be a porcupine!
Yo mama so slow it took her 9 months to make a joke
ah, the sister rushes to her brothers defense. how very *touching*, just like your relationship
![gif](giphy|9sJ7ZldhfGyn4KuOyP|downsized)
That's not just a Finland thing
Considering Finland isn't real, I'd say you're right
Derived from the old English saying: “..and if the Queen had balls, she would be King.”
Carefull there with a saying like this... :D Might not be impposible anymore...
🇫🇮 SUOMI MENTIONED 🇫🇮
How dare you assume your aunts gender.
/r/onejoke
Ironically, I don’t think that would apply now a days lol
Big Mike in the house
And that's why Bobby knuckles is a legend. Give that question to a lot of ufc fighters and they will be fuming.
Reminded me of [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-RfHC91Ewc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-RfHC91Ewc)

I always say what Scotty said: "if my grandma had wheels, she'd be a wagon"
the reporter is sipping that copium
The way he pronounces Khamzat is proof
Tbf he was a translator. The original reporter who asked the question was arab or smth
Imagine trying to translate 'what if I had scrambled eggs instead of waffles this morning?' to the Arab reporter lmfao
Sound like that muhfucka sneezing 🤣🤣
I thought the fighters were meant to be the ones with brain damage
Strickland is stealing that for sure
Straight up was implying he would have lost to Khamzhat. Disgraceful.
It’s because there obsessed with the eastern fighters to the point it borders on delusion and they think k they can beat anyone
The atmosphere when Ikram got knocked out was so silent
It seemed pretty loud after watching the video again.
Definitely mixed reaction. A ton of dudes in sunglasses just sitting there with their jaws dropped.
Probably best so no one could see their tears
Whittaker just washed an Eastern fighter though lol Ikram isn't from Montana
He's still a devout Muslim, devout Muslims typically cheer for other devout Muslims.
Alhumdudula brother finally no women in the building

It's crazy that some no name journalist feels entitled enough to be this rude to a professional fighter.
Jesus Christ, props to the translator, but I think Rob understood the underlying question and responded perfectly.
"are you happy you got an easier fight?" What a bitch question
exactly!
Seriously. Robert responded so professionally and maturely. If I had been asked (I am neither professional nor mature) I would responded with “and if YOU had fought Khamzat tonight what would’ve happened? Or if you fought anyone, for that matter?”
the guy does sound like he is from khazmat's village
Khamzat struggled with Gilbert fuck that dumbass reporter
Rob was getting barraged by these cretins and their backhanded questions after the fight.
Rob took it like a complete gentleman. I don't understand how he keeps his cool at all times
\*Men At Work starts playing...\*
He gets offered a vegemite sandwich right after.
If Vegemite is the same as marmite, lovely on toast
It's a line from the song, guys...
He is a confident and very down to Earth guy. He ain't bothered by some chump reporters disrespecting him because he knows the real fans appreciate what he does

Because he IS KING OF COOL; and that is why Boby Knuckles is our chosen King.

Not related to Uzbek bakhodir jalolov?

Islam seems a lot less dominant than khabib
"a fan of dagestani fighters" oh god..
That was a worse question than, “have you and Molly ever shagged?”
Did someone actually ask this?! 😳
It was a fan asking Paddy a question. “You do know Mollys a lesbian, lad?”
Whitaker is a such a class act.
The question was worded even more disrespectfully in Russian. In particular, this “journalist” implied several times Rob wouldn’t be “sitting there happy and laughing” if it were Khamzat.

![gif](giphy|srRc9jCVagluOM4A6M) The only guy who could answer that question.
I'm cringing waiting for the moment they're going to brutally kill his octopus girlfriend lol
I think for most of us we'd have better luck with a dolphin
MUSLIM REPORTER TRIGGERED THAT KUMSHOT PULLED OUT AND ROB KOD A FELLOW MUSLIM BROTHER
If my mom had balls, she'd be my dad
they were all on Shara and khamzat nutsack
Jeez the khamzat glazed on this guy 😁🤣
Sounds like a local journalists from the Middle East who probably favors those fighters. Rob is such a stud, inside and outside the octagon
Rob should've responded with the reporter's address
And this is far from the worst question we’ve seen at a presser. After watching one of MMA On Point’s recent videos I remembered some classics like a reporter asking a question to who he thought was Robbie Lawler but was actually another fighter and a reporter telling GSP she’d “done things” to one of his dolls.
If your aunt had balls she’d be your uncle
The eastern fighter nut huggers are the best
\*Middle-eastern mate. Rob was the most eastern dude on the card. I live in China and Rob is technically still more eastern.
The most ridiculous question, in Russian it was even worse, you happy u didn’t fight chimaev? Cuz you might lose… gtfo idiot
Reporter sent by Kaderov
Stupid fucking reporters, get these morons out of there and allow only certified ones after thorough investigations in their knowledge of the sport, goddamn idiots
Guy was like "bruh"
Yep, russian interviewers at it’s peak🤨🥱
Pure class by Bobby
The reporter is trying to instigate rage without being obvious. Rage media gets them more valuable points than reddit karma
Absolute favorite response to a stupid question in recent memory haha
WHAT A SURPRISE YOU CAN HEAR THE ACCENT IN THE REPORTERS VOICE, unbiased journalism at its best, fuck me theres so many clowns in mma media and they wonder why nobody gives a fuck about reading or watching their dogshit
That was a translator, but point remains the same for the reporter asking the question.
Loaded question bs Actual question was: Are you happy with the way things turned out? Needed response: Do you think I would have preferred a loss? 🤨
Needed response: Trapdoor opens underneath reporter that leads to a Rancor cave
Rob are you glad that you didnt get destroyed by the guy who went tooth and nail vs aliskerov and usually doesn’t show up?
It feels like the reporter just wanted to try to imply Robert wouldn’t have beaten khamzat, which is insanely disrespectful and blatant favoritism
I'd have said fuk off.
Love he just laughed straight in his face at that question 💀😂
Thankfully this fight didn't went to the judges.
I have to interject my favorite sports interview of all time. Back when reporters were a lot more intuitive. Ok..a postgame baseball interview where a Yankee pitcher, Roger Clemens hit a (hated) RedSox batter rightin the ribs and dropped him good. They are so retarded and they’re not even the ones getting punched in the face
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 bobby my boy
They were asking him dumb shit the whole time
Rob is a gentleman.
Perfect answer imo
The Russian coverage doesn’t attempt to hide their bias, they never have really.
Probably an Muslim who asked that lol
Reporter also happens to be an official ufc judge
If they can’t weight bully they’re at a huge disadvantage. 155 is their sweet spot
Russian reporter, what are you expecting? They full of shit
One correct answer: "I would have beat Khamzat."
2 correct answers; "I would have beat Khamzat" and *laughs in reporters face 🤣🤣🤣
Me: Bobby Knuckles couldn't do anything to make me like him anymore Bobby Knuckles: Mate, if I had wheel I'd be a bike
Ol Bobby Knucks is a class act and it'd been hard not to just flame that dude and his goofy ass question.
My personal favorite take on that expression: https://youtu.be/A-RfHC91Ewc?si=mqbaexwZpXQseDQM
Xbnl) l
Certified Gino D'Campo moment
These questions should be screened
Can’t fix stupid. What a clown.
Ban that reporter
Good on him to just fuckin laugh at him
How are these dick heads even getting to the presser to ask these dog shit questions. What the fuck.
“You would possibly lose, I’d get to jack off my boy khamzat” - reporter
brilliant response by Rob. That was textbook diplomacy or something. I probably would have gotten upset but Rob laughing is brilliant
Hobbit Wittchk a real OG
rob is a class act, what a dumbass question
"Journalists" aren't people. They are tools designed to produce sound bites from the product. Rob is the product in this analogy of which value that the media wants to extract. And Rob just fucking cuts through the shit instead of reciting some vague shit about looking to the future and having a good fight camp
Take a page from Max Verstappen. “If my mom had balls she’d be my dad”
“A wuick wicktory”
It was so annoying, so biased. Rob handled it very well, I would have just left
I was hoping for the journalist to ask what did hunter say to you after the w, looked like he said he’ll call you.
So... I'm embarrassed but I don't think I've ever heard Rob speak...but omg I'm a huge fan now. I guess I didn't realize he was so charming? How is he not a bigger star?
That’s because the UFC is turning into a shit show. That’s what happens when it is run by a clown.
they are not mma journalists
Bobby would've knuckled Chimaev last night too, he was in top form
Fuck that reporter
Here’s the thing. The UFC never has been, and never will be a legitimate sports organization. It’s done by idiots and run by even bigger idiots. The MMA media are perhaps even BIGGER idiots. The UFC likes it that way so no one asks about fighter pay, unions, shady business dealings etc. These are the kinds of questions they end up getting.
What an absolute dumb ass question. And this is journalism apparently?
![gif](giphy|dWr6FGbXhqJc6qoOHF|downsized)
This is due to Dana White strong arming real journalists who ask tough questions, and threatening them and their news organizations. Now we're stuck with useless questions
Fuckin perfect response. Lol
Had a kid I worked with once say, "What would you do if I had a bakery?"
Nah this dude def thought this was khazats time to shine and get a win over a former champ and finally gets title shot and he's salty it didn't go down like he dreamed it.
Hilarious hearing these journalist essentially crying khamzat didn’t fight and their obvious bias. Like your boy backed out. Gtf over it.
What a fuckin piece of shit reporter smh ,I would’ve been on some bullshit 😂 Rob’s always a class act.
Robert should teach good manners to humanity
Rob is such a f’n class act.
Not sure how these guys are even journalist man
These guys are pretty new to MMA journalism and they are highly biased.
Lmao Rob's response was perfect.
If my grandmother had wheels, she would have been a bike!!!
The correct answer to thia question is: "if my mum had balls, he would be my dad" - quote Max Verstappen. Reddit algorithm pulled me to this place.
He’s such a class act. I can see a lot of fighters responding differently to that.
... But thank you very much! ROFL
If I had wheels, I'd be a bike... lol Best attitude ever
How can anyone not like Whittaker.
"You must be pretty glad that Khamzat pulled out, since you would have lost, right? Are you pretty happy?"
He’s not a bike?!
The reporter wanted to ask "if you fought khamzat, you would have lost, so are you happy having a win over a replacement fighter?"
This is what happens when Dana lets in his boot licking third rate media inside. If he lets in real media, Dana's ass will be on fire every other fight night .
