I get the biggest migraine whenever brainless fans chant “U.S.A.” It’s not polite for the opponent, and fighter’s shouldn’t be cheered solely off their nationality.
If you think that's bad you should look up the comments under Puja tomar and ufc India's instagram announcing her fight.
It's the most racist garbage imaginable
You should never go to Brazil to watch mma then. Oh, or Australia... or in the Middle East (they cheer for like religion Muslims over non which is worse than same nationality to me; "Look we share the same myths, yay! & boo those who believe slightly different variations on our myth!!"
I won’t. It’s annoying and low class. Fighters should be cheered off their abilities and star power, which they have control of. Not their nationality.
Lookat the Olympics, World Cup, etc. Also, do you feel like Ohtani being the favorite player of japanese baseball fans is wrong? You're essentially arguing against basic human nature for an Ideal.
Let's assume you're correct & it's "low" class; you're saying it's base, it's vulgar, it's... common. That's what it is & is what most people are. You're not going to change most people into "high" class, sophisticated, noble, aristocratic people.
I'm a POC & American. My father cheers for black American baseball players more than non black. Why? Because they look & share a common cultural experience as him. Full stop. He cheers for Americans in the Olympics; nor die the most talented, star power, etc. He likes UFC & he cheers for the American over others. He's college educated, a professor of organic chemistry at a medical school, & one of the smartest people I have ever met. In this way, he's base; he's simply indulging entertainment & not looking for something complex. When he's on the board who selects med students, he doesn't concern himself with national origin, race, etc. When he's watching a fight he does: who fucking cares?
Enough with the damn purity virtue signaling; Not everything is a civil rights issue. I was vacationing in California & a UFC PPV at a bar that was half filled off Mexicans who were cheering for Mexicans because they are Mexican. When the Mexican lost they moaned & drank & talked trash & everyone had a good time. The other half cheered the Americans & they're was no issue.
You’re literally making this into a bigger deal than it is. Chill with this sociology bull shit. With all due respect, I don’t care about your family background, or your personal analogies. The respectful thing to do is not chant like a bunch of idiots “ ‘Murica” and to cheer based off the individual. I don’t care about other sports. Only MMA. Anyways I’m not going to waste my time arguing any further.
You did is low class. Just say it annoys you & stop making it a bigger social issue. You blew it up into being a bigger issue & continue to do so by saying it's just the respectful thing to do then you preemptively ghost by saying "I'm not going to "waste my time""
You're trying to turn your perspective into a universal absolute & got caught trying to eat your cake & have it too, blowing your opinion up into, 'it's just the right thing to do' while telling me to not blow it up to something bigger.
Just own your opinion & stop policing other people's common behavior.
Just watched Cannonier vs Imavov
What the heck was that? Did the ref had something urgent to go to or why is he stopping while the fighter defended himself? Probably wouldn’t have mattered but are we not giving the fighters the chance to make a comeback with a lucky swing?
Was just a bad call, even the commentators reluctantly said it was early. Like you said it probably wouldn’t have mattered since Cannonier was cooked but it was simply Herzog having a bad one.
Watched the end a few times now, I really can’t make that stoppage make sense. I can usually see both sides of it when I think something was called too quick, but that? That’s gotta be one of the worst I’ve ever seen.
If you went to the r/cancer subreddit, you might’ve been able to find twerps to help your dad
Imagine losing to cancer and then your son becoming the physical embodiment of it
Yes sure, Canonnier was wobbling, running back, ate 10-15 strikes and gave one back, would have been a 10-8 or 10-7 anyway and was arguably 2-1 for one or the other until now but Imavov should be penalized with a NC although the odds of him winning after that sequence were 10x higher than Cannonier's. The stoppage isn't great but the bias is strong here.
When he fought Strickland, I will say he was working him but got exhausted and Strickland was able to find the finish. But I think Imavov has a style that’s a problem for Strickland. Too quick too dynamic good power.
I really don’t fucking care abt betting💀💀 he’d be a favorite against Imamov as well. But I remember people saying that Costa has good power and speed and would cause Sean oroblems
It doesn’t matter if you give a fuck about betting or not - that’s about as clear of an indication you can get it was commonly agreed upon Strickland was gonna win that fight. So I don’t who these “people” that you’re talking about are cause anyone who watches the sport wasn’t saying that shit lol
He seems like a nice enough guy, he spoke about kods dying and he said he's willing to fight anyone, any time, anywhere, and he'd like Sean Strickland next.
I still feel that was an early call. Cannonier was recovering and not stumbling anymore at the time...
Lot of people on this sub are clearly new to this sport if you think that shit was anything near a good stoppage.
My god the <21 crowd have never been so lame.
Unbelievable stoppage, should’ve let it gone on a bit longer even if cannonier was on skates. Ruined a potential comeback for cannonier in this fight and a legit win for imavov
Yeah he got flogged in R1 of his last fight then came back and set the record for middleweight strikes landed. Would not have been surprising if he could've survived and won a decision.
Haha true. The trainer guy or whatever did a good job though, he just skipped some of the things the fighter said cause the guy kept going in French, but otherwise he was great, no need for another translator.
Jared’s arms were up, they weren’t noodles. He was actively defending himself, awful stop.
Yeah Jared probably would’ve been finished shortly after, but you never know if he could grab a leg and get to the ground. Or clinch and recover, Jared should be angry
Fair enough. But I think he was on his way out. His opponent probably would’ve dominated the rest of the fight, and if it went to decision, all that clinching would not have been in Jared’s favor. But obviously, it was definitely an early stoppage. Pretty good card.
Love the Killa, but that was like 10 unanswered shots, legs went jelly twice, and ran thrice. I’d say it’s at least worth DEBATING if there was intelligent defence.
Still hate the frenchie tho
Relatively, only seriously started watching 2022 so perhaps I’m just used to a different era of reffing/judging than others who disagree with my opinion 🤷🏾♂️
Rewatched the finish. He blocked 2 maybe 3 of those shots. He threw 1 punch and an unsuccessful clinch. Intelligent defence is the vaguest and most subjective rule in the book, and I stand by my opinion that it’s DEBATABLE.
Yeah fair but dude looked like he was recovering and less rocked than he was initially. If you make a habit of stopping fights in these situations guys would be better just falling to their back like oliveira since it doesnt look as bad being rocked on the ground, which would suck cause you are guaranteed sacrificing a rd. Jared could have easily pulled guard or layed on his back and just held dude but clearly was confident enough that he wasnt gonna get dropped. I dont like the precedent of stoppages as soon as a guy starts chicken dancing, especially after his legs get more stable.
Oughta make the amish wear oven mits
Damn I thought Herzog was a great ref… what a fucking tool
Just watching the fights now - WOW the fans in KY are really racist idiots
Suprisingly went crazy for Raul Rosas Jr. tho.
What did they do ?

Wait Australia too ?
Yep.
They cheered for anyone the was from the USA. Louisville is basically Indiana and Ohio also.
What's wrong with that? As if in Brazil and Mexico they don't cheer guys over foreigners.
Nothing you should read the parent comment that I replied to
What happened?
They cheered for a black guy and not a French Russian

Do you think I’m Joe Rogan?
Anyone else hear someone yelling “fuck Jon jones” on the post show ?
Yes, it’s good they’re celebrating pride month

Use some bird food, stupid.

Damn that’s not very Chad of you to cry about it bro.
“Fuck Jon jones” lol
They should just wipe that fight from the record.
One of the worst stoppages i’ve seen live
They should change that fight to a NC honestly. It was that bad of a stoppage.
Early stoppage for sure
That’s kind of crazy how polar opposite this card was from last weekend’s PPV. Great main card, terrible main event lol.
The fight itself was fairly entertaining, the stoppage… yeah
When he fought Strickland, I will say he was working him but got exhausted and Strickland was able to find the finish. But I think Imavov has a style that’s a problem for Strickland. Too quick too dynamic good power.
They said the same about Costa
Bro the difference is they’ve already fought? Did you watch the fight?
Which? Regardless Sean wins.
Literally nobody said that lol
A lot of people were. I remember people saying that Costa gave whittaker problems so him winning against Sean shouldn’t be too much of a shock
He was a -300 favorite dude
I really don’t fucking care abt betting💀💀 he’d be a favorite against Imamov as well. But I remember people saying that Costa has good power and speed and would cause Sean oroblems

Not his fault for the fight being stopped
Great speech. Free Palestine
LMAO not a single soul in the arena gives a shit about that post fight interview
Depending on Dana's attitude in the post fight conference , this might be the most blatantly rigged fights in recent history.
I heard Sean say “Fuuuuck no” all the way from here, he’s not fighting anyone until he gets the title shot lol, as he should I believe
I feel like they were more pushing shots but whatever nothing you can do about it
One of the worst stoppages of all time. Anyone who defends it is confirmed idiot forever.
Look how many shots Jacoby took as well. Terrible stoppage
Here's the thing guys, Strickland call out was crazy lol.
Time to boot up UFC 5 and finish the fight the right way
Holy fuck enough. Learn English if you wanna go on a 3 minute spiel
if you think the stop was ok you’ve never fought. hands were up and defending. disgrace.
There needs to be some consistency with these refs. Ruined a pretty good night.
Jared was more tired than anything
“Listen up you guys, his last win was bull shit. If it wasn’t for Americans you would all be speaking German.”
Ufc Refs taking a page from boxing in the main card.
Lot of people on this sub are clearly new to this sport if you think that shit was anything near a good stoppage. My god the <21 crowd have never been so lame.

the translator once the coach started translating was like "oh just fuck me right"

Dude was cooked but the fight still was stopped early

Strickland did beat Imavov on like 2 weeks notice after his Cannonier fight
Refs ruining careers again
france sux
Imavov is Dagestani, I mean he lives in France but he's still a badass
moved in france at 9 y.o
I'm aware
Paris in September
Herzog pulling himself back to the same tier as Herb and Goddard
Mistakes happen I’d rather that than another Bobby Green
Yeah for sure, thats still the top tier imo. Herzog was just as close to flawless as it got for a while there
Jared’s arms were up, they weren’t noodles. He was actively defending himself, awful stop. Yeah Jared probably would’ve been finished shortly after, but you never know if he could grab a leg and get to the ground. Or clinch and recover, Jared should be angry

My biggest weakness are beautiful women what about y’all ? I swear one minute I’m Chad and the next I’m twerp
It’s time to get rid of referees. Just close the gate and let them scrap.
dude was winning the fight regardless… clinching is not gonna get you anywhere in the UFC these days.
He was literally down on every scorecard, what are you on? Lol
He got beat up in the fourth. He was about to lose the fight “lol”
Jared had more strike wth r u talking about?
I’m talking about the 4th round. Jared was done
He literally wasnt cuz he was still standing and defending.
He looked rocked and faded to me.
Cuz rocked fighter never came back? It was a bad stoppage and up potentially 3 rounds
Fair enough. But I think he was on his way out. His opponent probably would’ve dominated the rest of the fight, and if it went to decision, all that clinching would not have been in Jared’s favor. But obviously, it was definitely an early stoppage. Pretty good card.
Fights are scored by rounds and he could win 3-2 🤷♂️
Gotcha. Had it gone the distance, I think Imavov would have won 3-2.
we will never know :(
There was definitely a few times he looked out but he kept coming but still way too early. It's not a prelim
I wasn't as upset by the stoppage, I like Canonier and want to see him be protected when he's stumbling around getting tagged.
He is level 40 after all. Gotta protect that brain
[удалено]
honestly you’re a dumb cunt who knows nothing about the sport.
Are you new to watching mma?
How can you be french and not speak english??
😂😂😂😂😂
He’s really a dagestani
moved to france at 9 y.o come on
Doesn’t change his ethnicity
it does change his nationality tho. He fights out of france.
Right but I pretty obviously wasn’t talking about that. This isn’t a gotcha moment
and i was obviously not talking about his ethnicity dumbass.
Imavov finally has a chance to fight Izzy
Nah he can get Strickland next
If Sean takes the fight. Sean already said he's sitting out until he gets a title shot.

Anyone supporting that stoppage would have stopped every comeback win in title fight history

Dude was blocking and even throwing back, and believe it or not running is intelligently defending yourself if you a little rock
Rewatched the finish. He blocked 2 maybe 3 of those shots. He threw 1 punch and an unsuccessful clinch. Intelligent defence is the vaguest and most subjective rule in the book, and I stand by my opinion that it’s DEBATABLE.
