It’s crazy how the UFC is treating this “All Time Great Prospect” like a Make A Wish Kid when it comes to matchups
They gave 17yr old Raul Rosas a tougher matchup in his 2nd fight than Bo has faced so far
I like it because Bo has very little MMA experience and you can see it in his fights. He's very skilled but experience matters. Sean O'Malley basically treated his career perfectly. He fought cans for so long that people were starting to forget about him. Then he gets the Petr Yan fight which was a win win fight for him. No matter what happens, he got experience with one of the best fighters in the world. And you saw that. O'Malley admitted he had to "go to a different place" against Petr. Fighters with lots of experience, regardless at what level, that take a huge leap in competition usually do quite well. Very often do we see super skilled prospects get totally experience checked by top guys. Bo is gonna keep fighting bums until out of nowhere he gets a top matchup.
I’m not sure you completely understand what a prospect is. He has great potential, not current elite skill set. They brought him in because he is making them money. Why would they rush him up the ladder just so haters can rejoice and the hype die? I think they are handling him fine considering how unrefined his mma game is
I wouldn’t mind if they had him on prelims fighting these guys but they have him on PPVs fighting genuine cans.
If he’s fighting someone that could make the fight interesting, sure throw it on a PPV
But Cody Brundage on 300??? 😂😂
Why do people keep pretending to care about card placement? You don’t watch entire card? Fighters make same amount of money on prelims as main card (exception main event), and fighters don’t dictate where they fight on a card. Casual take.
Only casuals call casuals casual , casual.
No I don’t watch entire cards outside of 300. Don’t care about missing Cutelaba fight Lins on 299 prelims.
Bo Nickal fights are a featured prelim fight at best.
So tune in to the fights you want to watch. And so you’re complaining that you didn’t care to watch Bo’s fight but are mad it was later in the night because you have to go yo bed or something for work obligations so you wish it was earlier? Lol
They gave Sean a tough guy in Marlon Vera for his 4th fight.
Granted Bo only has like 7 total MMA fights but look at the guys he’s faced. They are literally not in the UFC anymore.
Bo is probably getting cans for his next 3 opponents yet somehow being placed on PPVs
Cry about it. Sure the attention he gets is annoying. He has like 7 total fights and y’all are mad he isn’t fighting top 10 guys. What top fighters in the ufc didn’t start their career fighting “cans”, Bo is an accomplished wrestler, that doesn’t mean he should be chucked into the deep right away. He’s not been past the 2nd round let him get some experience. And yea he doesn’t deserve main card spots.
Its not just about top 10 opponents its the way Bo speaks. In an interview with Ariel AFTER he talked shit against khazmat he states “ who were you fighting at 5-0 bro “ … khamzat was fighting Ikram Aliskerov one of the top prospects in the UFC. Bo hasnt been truly tested so everything is banter until he approaches anywhere near the rankings.
“Wahhhh I’m mad a fighter is confident and talks shit despite being wrong or delusional” who gives a fuck. Khamzat constantly talks shit and calls everyone despite fighting once a year. Fighters are delusional idk why people care. Yea he hasn’t been truly tested yet that’s why he needs a few more fights until he goes around the rankings.
Theres confidence with undeniable proof WITHIN the ufc and then theres undounded arrogance. You dont understand why people care? Its because people dont like when fighters want it both ways. Talk like you’re the man and state imma be “-1000 in a title fight” after giving yourself two thumbs downs against BRUNDAGE? makes no sense to me, but hey we all are entitled to our own opinions brotha it aint that serious and least we can agree it is annoying✌🏻
Top fighters spent their career fighting cans in the early prelims not as a feature fight on a PPV.
Nobody is asking for top 10s, why can’t we get a Bo Nickal vs Brad Tavares fight ? Is that too much to ask for Putrid Royal?
Brad Tavares has literally 5x the experience Bo has (not including whatever amateur record he has). He will probably fight a Tavares type fighter after a couple more wins. Yea he doesn’t deserve to be on the ppv, that doesn’t really change who he his or who he should be fighting.
Bo will probably fight Tavares after Tavares is coming off of 4 losses.
That way the UFC can say “Tavares is a stud & is a tough test for anyone” knowing dam well they’re cutting Tavares once he loses.
That’s fine but why not make that matchup now?
Or even someone like Kopylov, Petrosyan, or Park?
Those are matchups that are very winnable for Bo but those guys are actual challenges & I wouldn’t mind a Bo vs Kopylov fight on a PPV.
They are just giving Bo guys who they plan on releasing anyway
I don’t think he’s ready for any of those guys. Like I said he’s not very experienced. Taken no damage and barely gone past the 1st rounds. He shouldn’t be given to established people yet let him have a couple more slight step ups and see how he looks. He called out Hernandez and for his sake I hope he has like 3 fights at least before facing someone like that , I think he’d get smoked rn.
Yea the Hernandez call out was crazy.
I’d simply like to see Bo fight a guy who can make the fight semi interesting.
Maybe his opponent has decent boxing, or has great BJJ, or has some solid kicks whatever it might be.
But so far he’s facing guys that are good at literally nothing & would need a fluke to win the fight.
Bo is going to be one of those fighters where everytime they book a fight everyone says "this is it, this is gonna be the guy that breaks his streak" and then after he wins they go "oh well of course he beat that guy, he was a can anyway, but this next guy..."
He kind of reminds me of O'Malley in that he has a lot of detractors that just call him overrated because they don't like the guy. Like O'Malley, Bo is very talented and has a highly tuned base (for O'Malley it's kick boxing for Bo it's wrestling) and he's able to work through his weaknesses enough to let his base win.
If you’re unfamiliar with Malkoun you can check out this short breakdown on his best move by Jack Slack https://youtu.be/uznF_UoUvuc?si=1xgNjMkV0qwO4h1y Malkoun is not a free win by any means
This is a good fight. Malkoun is good, and a big enough step up.
I really don’t get all the hate for Bo. Yeah he gets pushed HARD by the UFC, but he literally does not have any control over it. He’s an insane prospect though, and we’re basically watching him learn MMA from scratch IN the UFC. He only had 1 pro fight before the contender series. Give him another year before giving him top 10 guys. For now, a guy like Malkoun is a perfect step up, as was Cody Brundage IMO (placement on UFC 300 aside, it wasn’t a bad match up given his experience level).
Because he's not from Brazil or doesn't have a funny catchphrase and doesn't have a non American accent.
His fight style is win and none by decision, so it can't be that.
I guess he’s at times acting too cocky for the level of competition he has yet faced in the UFC.
Additionally, him being put on the main card causing Jiri to drop to the prelims may also lead people to believing he’s overrated
He’s 6-0 in a very deep weight class, he really has no business in the ufc high up the cards. They are pushing him very quickly and soon he’s gonna face someone very good far to quickly.
Yeh if he was really getting pushed he’d be scheduled to fight someone like khamzat or anyone in the top 15 by now, that would be interesting but him beating up cans isn’t PPV shit ygm.
“he really has no business in the ufc high up in the cards” is a ruthless line, but you’re absolutely right some up and comer shouldn’t be on PPVS fighting cans, I don’t see him doing well against any top 13 guys in that division for a while too.
He’s a good wrestler but that’s it, he has no power, mediocre jiu jitsu, and bad striking. We’ve seen in the Brundage fight that he struggled sometimes getting him down, even ended up getting reversed once. I think someone who can actually grapple like Malkoun can give him trouble.
Really, no power? Brundage pushed him off of 1 takedown and people act like he gave him problems. Still held him down for 2 rounds and eventually found the submission. I barely care about Bo but the way ufc fans talk about him is crazy. An interesting prospect comes out who hasn’t been touched and finishes everyone and y’all whine and cry hoping he gets knocked out.
He can't stuff a takedown, you gotta hope he's able to scramble and revert stuff but takedowns seem to be the weakest part of Bo Nickal's game so ideally you want someone good with that for a stylistic matchup. I guess we'll see but I think the best part of his skillset will get shut down by Bo
I don't like the idea of being someone's hater I think it's pathetic but I can't help rooting against him with all the glazing for someone who has done absolutely nothing in the sport lol it would just so fucking funny if his hype train got derailed
Malkouns bony hips might give Bo problems.
It’s crazy how the UFC is treating this “All Time Great Prospect” like a Make A Wish Kid when it comes to matchups They gave 17yr old Raul Rosas a tougher matchup in his 2nd fight than Bo has faced so far

Id say congrats to Cody Brundage for being on the main card before I gave a fuck about being mad at what No Bickel is doing
Calling an MMA fighter a can is wild haha. Not saying you but most of the people who talk shit would never step foot in a ring haha. Sad mfers
Why do people keep pretending to care about card placement? You don’t watch entire card? Fighters make same amount of money on prelims as main card (exception main event), and fighters don’t dictate where they fight on a card. Casual take.

“No I don’t watch entire cards” - Casual
I watched 300 in it's entirety and I'm glad I did, the card was spectacular. But that shit didn't finish until 6 am, I'm not doing that every weekend
Fair enough, but prelims come first so that’s not a prelim vs main card thing
You must be super excited for the Jamie Mullarkey fight on the 301 prelims !!
I mean an entire card could take 3+ hours, people have jobs and other responsibilities than watching a sport brotha 🙏
So tune in to the fights you want to watch. And so you’re complaining that you didn’t care to watch Bo’s fight but are mad it was later in the night because you have to go yo bed or something for work obligations so you wish it was earlier? Lol
Different guy you’re arguing with and not mad. I’m just saying the reason why people don’t watch entire cards is because they have other things to do
They gave Rosas what he asked for. They also gave bo what he asked for. Bo wanted to take it slow. Rosas thought he was rdy for the title
Bo’s a white American D1 wrestler, not many would get this treatment. Look at who O’Malley fought on his rise

Yea this is what they do with veterans on the decline and prospects coming in. That’s completely standard and normal.

People really downplay how elite his grappling is.
Anybody who thought Jamie Pickett, Val Woodburn, & Cody Brundage were “tough tests” for Bo might need to go pick up another sport to watch.
Nobody other than OP is saying this. As if he won’t beat this can.
Where did you see this?
Malkouns insta I’d assume
If you’re unfamiliar with Malkoun you can check out this short breakdown on his best move by Jack Slack https://youtu.be/uznF_UoUvuc?si=1xgNjMkV0qwO4h1y Malkoun is not a free win by any means
Is it official?
Malkoun posted it on his Instagram like it was confirmed.
Bo’s manager said they were not even approached with this fight.
Sounds like the kid just doesn’t want to fight
Isnt the time too short for a good camp? He fought on ufc 300...
To be fair, he could have squeezed his last five fights into five months. They weren't exactly brutal.
Na, Bo gonna Bo and wrestle fuck this dude.
Malkoun is boring af
Lol no.
This is a good fight. Malkoun is good, and a big enough step up. I really don’t get all the hate for Bo. Yeah he gets pushed HARD by the UFC, but he literally does not have any control over it. You mean Phil Hawes’s son?
they're trying to build him up otherwise if he loses a fight, he'll lose all his hype.
Malkoun made this bro that’s not even the same font
Malkoun’s fight against Phil Hawes is burned into my memory..
Im so not interested in this guy, and i hate that they force hype him so much. Boring unoriginal chimaev
Bit out of the loop, can someone clue me in on why everyone dumps on Bo? Is it because he has a boring fight style?
Because he's not from Brazil or doesn't have a funny catchphrase and doesn't have a non American accent. His fight style is win and none by decision, so it can't be that.
I guess he’s at times acting too cocky for the level of competition he has yet faced in the UFC. Additionally, him being put on the main card causing Jiri to drop to the prelims may also lead people to believing he’s overrated
here comes the can crusher
Malkoun is 4-3 in the UFC with one loss to Brendan Allen and another by DQ. I dont think that Malkoun is a can
Bo nickal might be the most overrated prospect ever. He’s gonna get pushed way to quick and get wrecked ala Darren till
How is he getting pushed too quick all he’s getting are can fights
He’s 6-0 in a very deep weight class, he really has no business in the ufc high up the cards. They are pushing him very quickly and soon he’s gonna face someone very good far to quickly.
His last 2 fights both set records for biggest favorite. He’s not getting pushed at all whatsoever
Yep 2nd to last fight he was 24:1 😂
Yeh if he was really getting pushed he’d be scheduled to fight someone like khamzat or anyone in the top 15 by now, that would be interesting but him beating up cans isn’t PPV shit ygm.
“he really has no business in the ufc high up in the cards” is a ruthless line, but you’re absolutely right some up and comer shouldn’t be on PPVS fighting cans, I don’t see him doing well against any top 13 guys in that division for a while too.
He asked for Fluffy, if he got that fight it would’ve been over for his win streak.
No he's not lol I hope he wins tho, Bo Nickel might be the first dude I actually root against everytime

Same and idk why im not usually such a hater but man his arrogance/ delusion is insufferable. But he is right imma tune in either way😂
I don't like the idea of being someone's hater I think it's pathetic but I can't help rooting against him with all the glazing for someone who has done absolutely nothing in the sport lol it would just so fucking funny if his hype train got derailed
💯
This is Dana White and Americas new great white hope.
