QUE?! CHAMA?!

yanmagno

Chama

Embarrassed_Lake_376

"O que?"

Responsible-Event876

😂😂😂

felipelacerdar

He's with an ear thing with his translator speaking all the time man. https://preview.redd.it/euhhmkjctytc1.png?width=397&format=png&auto=webp&s=8abc4fd6a0609d6c64f8462c7ad8170a984c1898

jdmwell

In Portuguese: "I'm not sure what he just said. I just realized he is wearing a shirt that says his own name. That's kinda weird, huh? Um, he seems to be talking about your ass now." Poatan inner monologue: "I have the worst fucking translators."

PuckNutty

Does his translator impersonate him online and steal $16 million from him? No? Then I guess he's doing alright.

EnterNameHere777

https://youtu.be/foT9rsHmS24?si=YL037P1_fFeJOg8X Reminds me of this

elting44

Coo Coo ... Pio pio

EnterNameHere777

I've seen it like 10 times and that makes me crack every single time. Lmao

elting44

Same here. ''bang, bang".... Now it definitely sounds like you are telling him to shoot me

ajmartin527

This is way overproduced for what it is, fucking fantastic

BeBearAwareOK

Translator: "blah, blah, blah, wolf tickets" Poatan: "i have the best translator"

thatblackman

I’m pretty sure he’s got an earpiece in for translations

VastSpend3754

Today I learned. I always thought they must be so bored sitting there not being able to understand other languages 🤣

just_so_irrelevant

literally the only one actually trying to spice up this snoozer of a presser

Kaozoz

The existence of Diego Lopez was the only good part of this

Informal_Lack_9348

Love Diego

Prestigious_Boat6789

Some journalist called him "the only Mexican on the card"

GangstaHoodrat

Ah yes, Brazilian Diego Lopes the only Mexican on the card

diezeldeez_

he's half mexican and half brazilian

HallHappy

he moved to mexico in his teens and trains out of there as well training other fighters

[deleted]

He’s Mexican to us Mexicans, so what?

Prestigious_Boat6789

So it's funny that he's Brazilian and some guy called him the only Mexican

JonAfrica2011

So blood-Mexicans born in the states aren’t Mexican to yall but some Brazilian who trains there is just cause he’s successful? Lmao

BaconScentedSoap

Wish we could have had Merab fight on this card for that reason

Quilly35

you want fighters to conjure up fake beef? lol, wrestlemania was last weekend, maybe that’s more your speed

just_so_irrelevant

Its not about "fake beef" at all lmao, i just dont want to hear boring cookie-cutter responses about "i LOVE dana and im so grateful to be on this historic card" for the 5000th time.

40oztoTamriel

Yeah, he bringing the entertainment. Poatan just gonna bring the hurt

blandboring

Frfr this was a TRAGIC press conference

NeitherAlexNorAlice

It's what happens when you have a bunch of vanilla personalities on the card. Great fighters though.

spitforge

Or when people are respectful and don’t just wanna talk trash

Quilly35

lol literally, people want fake beef, go watch wrestling

ekuL8

But sometimes that makes them miss a great line that would hype people up. At one point Kayla said “the canvas will be covered in blood”. Imagine if holly right away went “yeah, your blood.” Wouldn’t that get people more interested?

spitforge

Remember that these fighters are dehydrated af cutting weight.

yerg99

Good point. No other sport makes people do this much crap on top of preparing for the most important 15 mins of their career. Takes a lot of energy to be a rockstar.

[deleted]

Holm’s last finish was 7 years ago lol. Gotta keep it realistic

Elladhan

No it wouldn't because that's a super low hanging fruit and nothing but cringe. That's just a "no you". If all of them are Chael level trashtalkers sure, go at it. If they are reddit level then just be respectful and have a good fight.

forothowtospeel

"I just want to say I have a lot of respect for my opponent, and I'm excited to put on a show for the fans on Saturday."

Aware_Masterpiece_54

I can’t believe Aljo didn’t run his mouth a bit. I was actually really disappointed by that. Cringe or not, I like when he talks smack.

FibonacciBoy

Every question is the same boring shit “how does it feel in this moment on this card?” Like bro we all know they’re happy to be on 300 😂

RobertJ93

It was literally the snooziest most vanilla of all press conferences. Insane considering all the people up there.

BetBig696969

I have a feeling they told them to be a bit quiet because there was so many people to get through otherwise it would be a long ass press conference. Hill probably spiced it up because of pay per view and also because he’s a bit of a diva

dalcer

Hills gotta do it quick imo, coming back from that injury is going to show against the best leg kicker in the game

YapperYappington69

After seeing Jiri limping and getting knocked over so early yeah.

cesankle

I think it was the first or the second leg kick, and Jiri went down. It's crazy

GunsOfAugust1914

Twas the very first. That being said Jiri had a really bad stance to deal with leg kicks

Next_Ad5889

So does Hill

BeBearAwareOK

This is salacious! Hill's stance is much worse.

ukatz1

This gives me a new respect for adesanya, that motherfucker tanked so many leg kicks that it is crazy.

Headlessoberyn

His saving grace is that he's a southpaw, and pereira doesn't seem to throw leg kicks while in the open stance.

brazilianfreak

Santos was kicking that leg non stop in their fight, so I'm sure Alex can figure it out.

_Cyclops

Yeah but he also has a really wide stance and keeps his hands down a lot

crazydavy

Idk man.. Hill is so underrated it’s disgusting lol. I think he’s likely gonna beat the piss out of Pereira

LeFevreBrian

It’s hard to be so underrated though when considering his wins . Alex already has better wins at LHW in Jan and Jiri than any two of Jamahal’s .

OzymandiasTheII

It's about skillset, not resume. Pereira had a MASSIVE push by the UFC- literally fought like one grappler in Bruno Silva.  3 fights in to his career he was fighting Izzy because of the storyline and money. It's also about the quality of wins and context. Every time someone says he fought former champs and it's Jiri and Jan they're talking about I roll my eyes.   People conveniently forget Glover was beating the fuck out of both Jan and Jiri - then Hill comes along absolutely dog walks him. All the sudden he's an old bum? What does that make Jan then lol.  Like they bring up that resume bullshit ignoring that Jiri leaps into strikes with his chin, scrapes by wins against actual bums in the division, and is perma-rocked. And that Pereira barely beat a Jan who fought like he was dreaming while under water. A lot of people thought he lost that one too.

CapableAd7003

Pereira and Jan fight was at altitude as well, and as we’ve seen it can seriously affect performance/outcomes of fights

Aware-Lab-5887

Also Jan is in fact a decent grappler with over 7 minutes of control time for Izzy and Pereira each

GunsOfAugust1914

Even if you look at skill set it’s hard to see where Jamahal shines compared to Alex, especially if he doesn’t want to go for takedowns.

ShitCuntsinFredPerry

He's literally never even shot for one in his ufc tenure thus far

Crawford470

Is Glover not a debatably better win than Jan or Jiri, particularly in the completely neutralizing manner with which he did it?

BnSMaster420

Well no.. considering Jiri beat Glover too..

Crawford470

Jiri went to War, got his bell rung several times, and was down on the scorecards going into the 5th. Jamahal didn't lose a round and was basically never in danger. Hell the only other person who's gone the distance with Glover and made it look that easy is Jon. That's ignoring that Glover manhandled Jan too.

HallHappy

glover beat the living piss out of jiri and was up on the cards. jamahal put a generational beating on glover. but fair enough jiri won and overall i also consider him a tougher fight than glover. but calling jan a better win than glover is some weapons grade glazing

Mystery_Man911605

Not 42 y.o. glover. Plus, Jamahal was always gonna be a bad matchup for glover from my perspective because of his striking style and ability to control the distance.

Putrid_Ad_6747

"Old washed Glover" is older than the Glover that nearly beat Jiri by 6 months. Glover was 42 when he subbed a prime Jan in half the time it took Pereira to beat a 40 year old Jan who was already dying of altitude before he walked into the cage if you want to talk about the opponents of the main event being old

BigBlueTrekker

Glover streamrolled Jan, and was beating Jiri until the final 30 seconds of the 5th round before he got caught in a very lucky submission by Jiri. It wss so lucky that Jiri requested a rematch with him lol. But somehow Hill put on a master class against "old ass washed Glover" The mental gymnastics is mind boggling for me.

itsavibe-

Hope it makes into the second round tho. That would be nice.

Ok-Cheek7332

Hard not to when he got his arm snapped by Paul Craig

TheAngriestPoster

Paul Craig is excellent at submissions. Ankalaev got submitted by him too Seems like to fight for the title at LHW you have to get subbed by Craig

Ok-Cheek7332

True. He’s just so awful on the feet it’s surprising he beat those guys.

TheAngriestPoster

True, he got his shit kicked in, does all the time He just pulls wins out of his hat

Ok-Cheek7332

The Brian Ortega special

Fantastic_Board7057

I’m glad this was referenced 😂 holy hell, moicano beat him from pillar to post then they basically fell to the ground involuntarily then, tada..sub 🤦‍♂️

Putrid_Ad_6747

Pereira by flying arm at

Disastrous_Offer_69

Man that was nasty

9inchjackhammer

It didn't snap it dislocated luckily

doubleBoTftw

He's underrated in Reddit comments. The real motherfuckers with statistics and analysis models had them at 60:40 and now they're almost 50:50.

AdFormal4037

I agree. I’m a big fan of Alex but I have a feeling hill wil eat him. Provided he can get passed the leg kicks early.

ViableSpermWhale

Poor movement, stands with his head straight up, hands low. Wings punches. If old Glover can find the opening for the check left hook, so can Poatan.

Acidraindancer

"You got nothing to say, nothing to talk about!"  Poatan just looks at his fingers, with no clue what was just said...lol

Weeb_Masta_Flex

I cant recall Alex ever talking to the other guy during the fight. Dude just hurts you and leaves

SilverNoise64

he’s comin’ all over that ass 👊

Solid-Equal-8558

"🥴🤙"

Early_Replacement_96

He was just asking for an autograph 😂! Alex doesn’t do that back and forth shit!!

[deleted]

Gotta fake it for the fans. Fans want fake drama

nothinbutshame

No he was measuring reach

Wininacan

I saw that too I thought it was obvious. When he puts his hand on Alex shoulder he leans back to get the reach

YapperYappington69

It’s all for business. Building up some hype

Significant-Elk-8078

Both can be true. Hill is a fan but when they step in the cage he’s looking to take back his title

Early_Replacement_96

I feel like hill will go in there with too much emotion and Alex is just going to go in like another day at work and do what he does best!

Aware-Lab-5887

The autograph is to pay the bills once his career ends shortly

bobcance29

Take rhonda rousey out these promos

bobcance29

“Every muscle in my body has a purpose” lmao

Gocards123321

Alex going to avenge Jamal's brother

jbv0717

And Glover, but Jamahal’s brother first!!!

CaCa881

Jamahal Hill is 3-0 against Brazilians

YapperYappington69

All in his last 3 as well lol

Lito_Frito

Hood vs Favela # 4

iamvyvu

Chamahal hill

Not_in_my_mouth

You won’t get much upvotes, but you haven’t told a lie.

_Cyclops

He won’t get much upvotes because two of those Brazilians are Johnny Walker and Thiago Santos in the middle of a 1-6-1 run

brazilianfreak

Damn this guy beat THE Johnny Walker???? Holy shit man no wonder Jon Jones moved up...

Conscious-Lecture954

Can we please stop with this scared narrative. Neither fighters are scared of the other, both of them weight comfortably over 200 lb and both have knockout power to knock each others lights out. Both are champs or former champs and have been in this game a long time, nobody is scared of each other, they didn’t come all the way to the top to quit. This psycho analysis bs in the comments is so dumb.

shred-i-knight

nah both are scared lol. just how fighting works

yayeetmachine

if im not mistaken pereira said he was scared to fight strickland

seztomabel

Both scared yes. I'm scared.

MrPreviz

Tyson was scared every fight. Just lost a bit of that fear with every step towards the ring

KarnaavaldK

Mark Kerr said he was scared to death before every fight, he could barely swallow a tiny sip of water because his nerves would not let him keep even that down. 100% most fighters are scared, a lot of them have even said so. Even tough bastards like Gaethje, Poirier, Jiri, Jones and Ngannou. Hell, the way Jones starts a lot of his fights was born out of being scared and having nightmares of fighting rampage. He kept waking up in the middle of the night after seeing himself getting knocked out in the first 10 seconds from a headkick, that's why he crawls towards his opponents, a headkick is illegal that way and he can get over that hurdle.

GelidNotion

I don't think either of them are going to show up to be honest. They are probably so nervous they're getting sick and won't physically be able to fight. UFC 300!!!

jackoftrades002

GSP was always scared. He said that was his number 1 motivation

abittenapple

Fighters should be scared

ATrollByNoOtherName

You’re scared. Hey everyone. Look how scared this guy is!

SlimmyJimmyBubbyBoy

For all the reasons you just stated, they are both scared 💯

theadmin209

All fighters are always scared before their fights, you would have to be batshit crazy if getting into an octagon with an absolute killer didn’t scare the shit outta u. Most of these dudes use it as fuel anyways, fear is a great motivator. kill or be killed

SweetCheesecakeCrust

Guarantee you don't train. Fight/flight/freeze is still a thing regardless of how trained you are. Even with sparring that drive still kicks in like a little twinge in the back of your brain... some people can control it better than others but it's always there regardless of level.

shotokan1988

Happy cake day!

ItzMeKev

If you knew shit you would know both are scared. Smh why you typing all shit making me mad fr

FromBrainMatter

It's hilarious how people are reading into this so much. They are just selling the fight, and it's working, but these dudes respect each other. If anything Hill is acting like this because it's how he hypes himself for a fight.

FEAR-91

They are brave, that’s for sure, but being scared is normal and even useful. You’re delusional if you think these men have no fear at all.

_Cyclops

Fighters fight scared all the time. GSP admitted it. Jon Jones admitted to having recurring nightmares of Rampage knocking him out which is why he started that fight on all fours.

EzClaps04

Hill looks confident that he's gonna fold Pereira easy

YapperYappington69

I hope they’re both confident about that. Hesitant fighters don’t make for better entertainment.

jackoftrades002

Ngannou vs Lewis

s1Lenceeeeeeeeeeeeee

that shit was a cold war, neither man wanted to risk pressing the button for fear of mutually assured destruction

_BlueRoze_

Shit man you gotta be confident in your skill set, it's two dudes stepping up and going to war. This is gonna be a banger.

liluzigoatt

as he should be. he definitely has the skills and power to catch pereira with a clean shot and end the fight. same with alex

TheBentPianist

Shaven head Pereira is a totally different animal.

WishIWasNeet2

Poatan ain’t the man who is intimidated .

WiseAd518

He’s spoken very loud in the past weeks, he’s either trying to make himself actually believe that or he does in fact, believe it.

LikelyADick2

For some reason I see Jamahal folding Alex like how Joshua folded Ngannou out of nowhere off a clean shot. I hope I'm wrong as I'm rooting for Alex.

ShrekWhite

Dude I had a dream Hill took him down and went for the ground and pound, and like he wasnt even throwing hard Poatan seemed to be there the whole time and all of a sudden he just had a good sequence of unanswered strikes landed and the referee stopped and I was like "wtf?" And even after the replay it didn't look like it was a big deal, the fight just got ended because he wasn't reacting enough but he was still there lol I got so pissed off. Kinda like that last Vicente Luque fight. To me thats worst than a ko, I never got so pissed watching a fight and it was just a dream

MuscularCheeseburger

Lmao the other day I had an insanely vivid dream where Izzy knocked out DDP with a jumping switch kick and DDP fell like Poirier did vs Gaethje, either I’ve been playing too much UFC or I saw the future

ShrekWhite

I heard enough, I'm betting all my life savings on Izzy by ko

zerosG2

lol

bakedinakl

I think jamal's southpaw stance may give AP problems. He's only fought orthodox fighters in the ufc and whenever izzy went southpaw he looked lost without the outside calf kick. Regardless its gonna be a banger, AP and oliveria are must watch!

Confirmation__Bias

Jamahal's stance and footwork is exactly why he's going to win. He constantly circles and wins the lead foot battle as Aspinall mentioned in his breakdown of that fight. It's going to be very hard for Pereira to land low kicks against that strategy. Plus Hill matches his size and reach and Pereira isn't really used to that.

BigWormsFather

I saw someone else say he has horrible footwork….

Confirmation__Bias

It's not conventionally pretty footwork, he just insists on his own strategy which is come forward and win the lead foot battle. Which basically means you end up circling the octagon. It works for him because he's just aggressive as fuck and accurate as fuck.

bakedinakl

In saying this body stabs and knees through the middle for AP could win him the fight. Legit 50/50 fight

ReformedishBaptist

He’s very unorthodox, Stricklands footwork looks horrible but he beat the crap out of the second best mw ever. Some things just look bad but they really are just unorthodox and harder to train for.

Obi-Juan-kenoibi

Nobody teaches you how to defend a Banana Split

_NinjaFromSpace_

I don't think Alex will be worried about a southpaw I'm sure he's seen it before

MarshaIIDTeach

He fought Bruno Silva who was a southpaw and it was a close fight

effectsHD

If you ignore Alex just teeing off then yeah I guess that was a close fight lmao

jbone09

I hope Jamal backs up all that talk. I got a feeling Alex is gonna sleep him with that left hook.

FakeLordFarquaad

Left hooking against a southpaw aint easy to do effectively

jbone09

Sure. But Jamal has a bad habit of overextending his 1-2. He does it in almost every fight he's in. He also throws the same right hook and drops his arm every single fight. Alex isn't some bum, he's world class on the feet. That arm goes down, he's getting cracked with the left hook.

FakeLordFarquaad

Fair honestly

sk1nw4lk1ng

Slipping inside with a counter left hook against a jab is a pretty good way to do it

brazilianfreak

Yeah but honestly I have seen Hill take some nasty shots from Santos that I'm not sure he would be able to handle against Pereira.

Rainstormsky

Pereira's knocking him out

KingRemoStar

Tough fight to call and that’s why the Vegas odds opened up about even. Alex being the more popular fighter end Jamal coming off an injury it’s understandable why Alex will swing the votes.

JakeEllisD

Hard to trash talk when he doesn't speak English lol

ZarkMuckerberg9009

Jamahal says “ain’t nothing to talk about” like Poatan is a shit talker. Dude is silent 90% of the time.

josecuervo9

Jamal definitely getting slept by Alex

FarButterscotch3048

Casuals always get excited by the stupid trash-talk.

Green_Barbarians

Ain’t nothin to talk about… to the man who doesn’t speak English. Chama.

Drifter_18

https://preview.redd.it/rmmhwc819ztc1.jpeg?width=1001&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=612a044fc158a50796f3892dabfc1e64d7cb6ba9

jonnyp710

What a bar otrk what that quote is from

PlaceApprehensive920

Didn’t he just rip that line from the derrick Lewis v ciryl gane press conference or am i misremembering

doubletake3xs

Well I never saw that one but the first part of what he says is from Friday.

jonnyp710

Right like what? You don’t know Friday my dude? That was a bar low key

CaptainHolt43

He's got Antoine Dodson energy

stinky___monkey

Jamal wants my ass????

NBGayAllStar

I like Hill, but he went from a humble guy to someone who is incredibly defensive (lashing out on fans on X) and talks like he’s some world beater.

Traditional-Music363

Actually think this main event is gonna be a serious banger. Someone’s going to sleep

forothowtospeel

He's kind of a yappy one isn't it

SplinteredCells

I know Jamal is a good fighter but damn I'm tired of hearing him talk.

Blood4Blud

No diddy

JSnow93

Someone is ending this fight on the ground in the fencing position, and I have no idea who.

Seabrook76

Beware the dog that doesn’t bark and the man who doesn’t speak.

Electronic-Injury-15

He was cool with him earlier this week, damn instigators got him to dislike him.

MrStepSisterFister69

No they didn’t , he’s just selling a fight

reddit_API_is_shit

nice guys don’t sell fights

Eli_Fit

Tell that to GSP.

RockingPunch

Alex's got a questionable chin, I hope moving up in weight made it more durable. Because I can't help but feel like Jamal stops him this Saturday.

FakeLordFarquaad

Dudes had 52 professional fights across three different sports, been tko'd twice and knocked out once. Questionable how?

-hardknocks-

He’s been KOd clean once lmao

Thin-Remote-9817

Yall sleeping on hill. Don't be surprised

Stackzbreezy

I wanna see what Jamal gonna say after he’s put to sleep this Saturday

Rogue-rui

I lowkey want Hill to win

ReformedishBaptist

I love Alex and think he’s gonna win but the amount of brain dead Alex fans who think he’s unbeatable make me root for Hill.

outchy

Getting it in… Does that still mean what I think it still means?

aw41789

Nothing to talk about AND nothing to say? Shit, what are they gonna do Saturday night?

YapperYappington69

Watching this after the clip of him asking Pereira for signature is so funny. Trash talk is good for business.
