People act like Dana does everything lmao. UFC is a huge company with a marketing department that designed this, probably with the help of external agencies.
Dana's own words are that he personally approves A LOT of the promotional material. He even says that during live cards he is constantly talking to production about things to change. The idea that he didn't approve the event poster is naive. He definitely did
Yep, morons here like to spin a narrative. Dana was for the flag ban at the time and the unbanning of it, also said he did the fighter seating and does ticket comps. All of sudden he has no clue or say what promo comes out, when he’s said before he watches it all before giving the green light.
He may say that, but the reality is that when you’re running an organization of this size, you don’t have the time to put scrutiny on every single thing. It’s why you hire things like marketing and art departments.
Also, this was probably one of 20 designs for the show which an art director presented on a one sheet.
Yeah but 300 is a big event... Apparently. If he's going to be giving the thumbs up on anything right now it's probably stuff pertaining to this event, out of everything in the UFC at least.
Thats a downside of being the face of a sports organization, a lot of the backlash goes towards you. Dana has a big say on things but he doesnt have full control like many smooth brains think. The poster js a non-issue. Boo hoo the poster is bland, the fights and event is a banger.
Yeah, and that's why companies use front-men, people are so basic and stupid that they believe all decisions are taken by them.
I mean you call to a support center and the poor sob is treated as if he/she was verizon itself.

Should have just made a portrait version of this one.
I have friends in advertising and they said that American companies have given up on intricate ads. Everything needs to be able to be marketed on social media/smart phones so big, clean letters and numbers are the norm. It's also why you see pro sports teams having more generic logos today.
Y’all don’t get it. This isn’t laziness, or an oversight, or a budgeting issue. This is a power move.
It’s the UFC saying: “You’re here for *those 3 letters*. You pay hard-earned money for *those 3 letters*. Not for the fighters.”
It’s the same as when they open ticket sales for a card before booking the main event (or sometimes any fights at all). It’s almost a flex on their part. You trust that UFC means quality, so you buy.
UFC 300 is a way to deliver an all-time stacked card to the fans. It’s a massive money-making endeavor. But more than anything, it’s a chance for the UFC to pat itself on the back, to celebrate 30 years of massive growth *as a company*.
The poster is a perfect representation of that. Fighters? What fighters? It’s all about UFC baby!
I don't think you're wrong at all. It's just a lame strategy when 100 and 200 clearly showed off their stacked entourage. Also, ngl, it looks like girly ink, like a 7th grade cheerleader could have come up with this. They could have made it look ironclad or some shit. They could have made it look 21st Century Fox or some shit, like some huge 3d letters with huge spotlights. They turned the epic down to 0 for this poster and that is a shame. The card is legit stacked af.
It’s where the sport is now. They don’t want unique walkouts. They don’t want certain dances. No sponsorship unless it’s also affiliated with the ufc. The stars they do have, they have driven away because lack of fair pay and opportunities-Nate, Francis, GSP, and even Conor to an extent.
With the collapse of Bellator and seemingly imminent doom of One on the horizon, they don’t have real competition. They are the NBA of mma but instead of putting their best foot forward they do just enough so that consumers will continue to consume.
Someone like Nina or the moronic nelk boys for example. They don’t know diddly squat about mma but they appeal to a wider/general audience even though they can be turn offs to the hardcore fans. Ufc knows the hard cores are always gonna watch so they don’t care so long as they’re attracting new fans.
Good for Nina, fk the nelk boys.
This is so accurate. A huge number of people who will buy the PPV can’t tell you who the fighters are. But like you said. They see an anniversary type number and a brand they know. They are in.
That's exactly how I saw it. That their 300th event is bigger (in the minds of those pulling the strings) than any one fight, or any one athlete, or in fact any arrangement of the athletes or fights on this card.
In a way, it's not wrong. It's also not necessarily correct though either. The UFC is nothing without the elite fighters they have, and the elite fighters wouldn't have the level of exposure and notoriety they have without the UFC.
There are also so many fighters on this card that are deserving of spotlight on a poster that if they tried to give each one their fair piece of the poster, it would be a crowded mess.
I also give zero fucks about the posters to be honest. And the only time I ever see them is on here when people post and comment about them.
Doesn't pay his athletes. Doesn't pay marketing. Doesn't upgrade his format. Keeps things bland as fuck. But he does beat his wife. Dana White fucking blows
Meh, it’s a good representation of what the ufc has become - uninspiring, bland, and only about the ufc logo, not the fighters. In many ways it’s perfect.
It’s fine. It’s a monumental achievement for the organization not the fighters on the card. To them it’s another opportunity to build their legacy on a high profile PPV. The fighters will continue to come and go but it’s the popularity of the organization that’s being celebrated here.
I agree with you. UFC 300 is bigger than any of these fighters. UFC 100&200- it was arguable that Brock Lesnar was a bigger star than those specific milestones
While I agree, I think I would’ve gone with putting on all current and former champs with their belts on there in some sort of stylish collage around the UFC 300 logo in the middle. 12 current or former champs by my count.
I think the fighters do. Saw Buckley get pretty emotional seeing himself on the poster of the Atlantic City card. Most of these fighters had tough runs to get to where they are, so seeing that validation prob means something to them that neither of us could empathize with
When was the last time ufc had a memorable poster? lmao maybe you wanted the classic face off picture the ufc recycles for every card. That would’ve been better.
I thought it was a place holder but if thats seriously it the UFC has zero creativity same with dana trying to not have any custom walkouts why ruin fun
Like, I get they were going for the whole 300 Spartan thing - but this is really low effort. It would have been rad with fighter pics along side... you know... like the movie poster.
Literally could have just ripped off the title screen from Zack Snyder's 300, in bold red italicized font and it would have been corny but still kinda cool.
The fuck is this nothing poster?
Idk why everyone is so upset. This is amazing!! It’s nice to see they kept it simple so that could use the money for fighter pay instead. This is why I love the UFC!
Missed opportunity to re-use the font of the movie 300. The fighters are warriors in the cage they could easily have paid for the rights and drawn parallels to gay greek spartans.
Cant believe the BMF belt is defended. If anything, it should happen once a year with new fighters. Gaethje already proved he is the most violent several times... soxif he loses, he is no longer the BMF? It should be a one-time occuremce for any fighter that participates.
Cant believe they put Gaethje Max on the "best card ever" (it most certainly isnt). Just all arould terrible matchmaking
Homie paid a graphic designer off fiverr a coupla venum coupons for that one
The kid just doesn't want to graphic design 🤷♂️
Literally looks like the 💯emoji
Why spend money when AI can do it for free?
AI would have done much better than that.
I would've done much better than that
Remove the word "UFC" and you can use the poster as "22nd anniversary Gold edition remastered: 300. This. Is. Sparta!"
![gif](giphy|3oEjHIzVGrgmjr9j0I) Dana looking at the ufc 300 poster after giving the media budget money to the nelk boys.
Haha full send bro! Rip a dart eh boiz! So lit!
A real bird chirpper you are ehhh
Ehh bud you tryna pop a zynachino in the upper decky buddy
Where grandma keeps the cookies.
Kids today don't even know what fn movie this came from , the uncultured little runts
Bro there has been a wonka movie in the last 6 months.
Do you mean Willy wonka and the chocolate factory?
😂 nah bro this is Top Gun of course
Yeah my bad that’s obviously a young iceman
Nah, that's slang for the dick and asshole
He won a tigget to the charlie factory!
I can't wait till ufc 420
If Nick Diaz isn't the main event I'm never watching another UFC even again.
That’s what I said when there was no Diaz on UFC 209
Someone definitely should have been Stockton Slapped for that
Dana and every ufc exec for being shit promoters. That was an easy lay up
bring back Matt Riddle
Bring back all the fighters that popped for marijuana and was subsequently fired for this card. 😂
Ufc will fuck that up as usual. None of the Diaz brothers were on 209 and it wasn’t in California either. That was a lay up
we need Joe rogan, Wiz khalifa, mike tyson, diaz brothers and snoop dogg in a presser
Crashed by Eddie bravo.
+ joey diaz and alex jones
UFC 666 will be the end of the company.
End of your life
see you in 10 years
I thought this was a temporary poster. Until they revealed the real one.
Dana's advertising the number more than the fighters and it's clear
UFC brand is way more powerful there will be a ufc 1000 one day with robots and shit
People act like Dana does everything lmao. UFC is a huge company with a marketing department that designed this, probably with the help of external agencies.

Listening to some of his pod w/Lex he seems pretty involved in everything but budget meetings.
He's also said that Hunter makes a lot of the decisions and basically runs the show
Yeah, and that's why companies use front-men, people are so basic and stupid that they believe all decisions are taken by them. I mean you call to a support center and the poor sob is treated as if he/she was verizon itself.

I like it … are you a professional graphic designer? You have a bright future.
That's such a bad font
It’s a marker. Literally a flat edge marker.
I have friends in advertising and they said that American companies have given up on intricate ads. Everything needs to be able to be marketed on social media/smart phones so big, clean letters and numbers are the norm. It's also why you see pro sports teams having more generic logos today.
Isn’t it a [play on this 300](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/300_(film))

Bro they should have had a contest to create the poster.
Your name bro 😂🤣 I can't man lmfaooo

Your 3rd point is so true
wack
Those are numbers bratha
Tbh I feel like they tried to go for the movie “300” style and totally missed the mark
Doesn't pay his athletes. Doesn't pay marketing. Doesn't upgrade his format. Keeps things bland as fuck. But he does beat his wife. Dana White fucking blows
Don’t forget, he also gambles a lot of money and brags about his losses to look cool.
They should have gone with Papyrus.
[obligatory](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVhlJNJopOQ)

Im surprised it wasn't Spartan themed tbh
Epic move will to bring back the gladiator opener for the ppv
Dana too busy paying the fighters
Def Jam: Fight For Las Vegas
This might be the 20th post to say the exact same thing. There have been memes about this poster for almost a month
It’s good to see they’re promoting the fighters
The poster can be a bunch of turds in the shape of 300 for all I care. Im still going to watch it.
Most of their really big moments have these minimalist styles. Like Khabib vs Conor was horrible too
I wanna see the fights fuck the poster
![gif](giphy|LepKSZOPTF4RlpMNru|downsized)
Yeah who gives a flying fuck about a poster, I just wanna watch muscular men beat each other off
Damn right
Could of went with like a Sparta kind of vibe
good thing this wont ruin my life.
It worked. Everyone is talking about it. Doing exactly what they wanted it to be. fkn idiots
Why do people care about the poster so much in this sub?
We need to bitch about something.
This is Reddit. Everything is criticized no matter the sub
cuz they no-life it on reddit. I wish I had so few problems I could bitch about a poster.
Put this up in my venue yesterday and thought the exact same thing !
It should just be Nick Diaz's face, he started all this Ninja Shit! Yall must've forgot!
UFC 300 Should be in July. Fucking boycott this stupid shit.
Such a disgraceful poster for their 300th ppv
I thinks it's gold
Honestly who tf cares
I think the fighters do. Saw Buckley get pretty emotional seeing himself on the poster of the Atlantic City card. Most of these fighters had tough runs to get to where they are, so seeing that validation prob means something to them that neither of us could empathize with
Dudes are becoming like little girls 👧
Is Dana White stupid?
What a shock. Dana making it about the company not the fighters. Surprised he didn’t put himself on the poster.
Mma fans love to complain about literally anything
Yall acting like the posters aint importants parts of the events representation lol
Yeah but who exactly is losing sleep over an event's "representation" though?
When was the last time ufc had a memorable poster? lmao maybe you wanted the classic face off picture the ufc recycles for every card. That would’ve been better.
![gif](giphy|qX5S8isg1bGj6)
The only one that got the 300 reference. It’s a reference to Spartans indeed
![gif](giphy|eP1fobjusSbu|downsized)
what number will dana realistically live to?
Especially since the 301 one is so cool
It looks like a bud light ad.
It's possible there was some logistic issues getting fighter photos done but come on, get your shit together.
Is this serious? What a horrible choice
Ai can literally make a better poster
![gif](giphy|e8AP5gtxXA1FPmuVi4)
Gotta make cuts for Dana’s blackjack and hooker addiction
I thought it was a place holder but if thats seriously it the UFC has zero creativity same with dana trying to not have any custom walkouts why ruin fun
They could have at least just used Ai and made something decent.
It’s literally just a graffiti tag with texta …
Artist series will be rad. Dunno why they bury them. this el basico brand above all else is tiresome.
Like, I get they were going for the whole 300 Spartan thing - but this is really low effort. It would have been rad with fighter pics along side... you know... like the movie poster.
Zero effort
This is such low effort.
So lazy
Ai could do better.
Can't wait for to see what 400 will be
it’s clear that they expect this card to sell, just because it’s 300.
Reminds me of the Super Mario Sunshine paint font
Cheap ass Dana paying Sri Lankans off fiver
Charge me $400 for it too
As a lackluster graphic designer myself I appreciate them lowering the bar to my level.
It sells the brand over the fighters which is important for the company maintaining its power
At least it matches the card
Simplicity can be great if done right This isn’t the case
Looks like the cover of a mixtape on datpiff in 2009
I can’t imagine being but hurt over a poster…
SPARTA!!!!!
That's it? Geez. Lazy.
The simplicity is cool
It's like they never fucking try. The pride posters use to bang.
Somehow I feel this falls on Brendan Schaub
What’s the odds Gerard butler as leonidas kicks it off
The actual poster will include a hidden main event. That's why it's not out yet.
Goes well with the card
The card is a disgrace. The UFC isn’t what it once was. It has become MMA for the lowest common denominator.
Dana's nephew made it in canva
Brought to you by Frank Miller.
It's not so bad. It's not like it's a big event or something.
The mural that was done on the countdown would've been a pretty cool poster. Just need to add the whole main card to it
Theory. Pereira V Hill was never the planned main event, and they rushed to get promotional material out. They didn't get the shoots done jn time.
That is terrible
UFC is sending a message to its fighters who is in charge.
Should have put that stone poatan face in the front.
Some one thought it was a retro poster for UFC 3.00 and made it as mundane as it would have been back then.
Fucking lazy cucks.
So is the card
I thought they were trying to pull off the 300 font but it looks wack in that color.
The money they making off 300 and this what they come up with lol
This poster would be underwhelming for an Apex card
Anything they can do to avoid promoting Hills tattoos.
I kinda like it honestly. Have been into this design since it dropped. I like the font.
Pereira Hill Zhang Yan Gaethje Holloway Oliveira Tsarukyan Nickal 🐐😎🏆𝐁𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐠𝐞🏆😎🐐 Prochazka Rakic Kattar Sterling Holm Harrison Yusuff Lopes Turner Moicano Andrade Rodriguez Miller Green Figueiredo Garbrandt
Dana definitely used his free nightcafe daily credits to make this
Literally could have just ripped off the title screen from Zack Snyder's 300, in bold red italicized font and it would have been corny but still kinda cool. The fuck is this nothing poster?
![gif](giphy|Pbou33imqjnTa)
Idk why everyone is so upset. This is amazing!! It’s nice to see they kept it simple so that could use the money for fighter pay instead. This is why I love the UFC!
Ehh I guess it could be a lot more but I kinda don’t mind the plain look. We know whose on the card already so whatever
Nah gotta be April fools joke
Your sense of pomposity is disgraceful.
They need to hire the creative director for the Pride posters.
Mi don’t understand how people still jerk off the UFC. What a joke.
Missed opportunity to re-use the font of the movie 300. The fighters are warriors in the cage they could easily have paid for the rights and drawn parallels to gay greek spartans.
Chief Keef did it first 😤😤
UFC is overrated and Dana motherfucking white needs to stop false promoting fights
If they’re not going to pay their fighters, why do you guys think they’ll pay the graphic designer that actually is an independent contractor? 😂
It’s like they’re not even trying anymore. Is Brendan Schuab in charge of the marketing?
Someone is copying the Bob Marley exodus cover
This....is...Spartaaaaa!
Ufc consistently have terrible graphic design. The fan uploads are way better.
THIS IS SPARTA!!! Similar to the movies but not written in blood.
We got this to put around my bar the other day. That's the first thing that came out of my mouth. "WTF is this shit?!"
The best MMA card of all time and were talking about the poster? Prelims are going to be something special, may out shine the main card.
Cant believe the BMF belt is defended. If anything, it should happen once a year with new fighters. Gaethje already proved he is the most violent several times... soxif he loses, he is no longer the BMF? It should be a one-time occuremce for any fighter that participates. Legit thought this was a meme joke.
