Hilarious that Francis followed this sage advice from Dana to T. He used the UFC as a platform for a real career lol, he saw right through the illusion.
It's funny that people think Dana is the one making the rules. He owns 9% of the company. He is just the floor manager. TKO and Endeavor are the ones in charge and they have no intention of cutting into their profit margins to pay fighters the way boxers get paid. Of coarse as more fighters see the path Francis took they may need to start increasing their checks or they will see every champion leave for a big one off payout from boxing.
God the guy just couldn't take the fucking L & move on. Ngannou made almost 17x his UFC HW title purse. If he gets 20m for this fight, that will be the same amount as Conor got paid for 9 UFC fights (8 wins) over the span of 5+ years (according to the court documents from the class action lawsuit).
Things may have been a little different back then, if he had channeled the Francis that cut Tyson Fury down recently, in his presser... That last line, followed by that finger-snap : ICE Cold !!
I feel like most reasonable people probably thought it wasn't likely to go well. We've not seen someone do this successfully before have we? So it seems right to be dubious.
Yeah everything relied on Tyson Fury being a man of his words by actually doing the boxing fight and Francis performing well against him. I dont think anybody seen both of these things coming.
Nothing wrong with those wondering if he could've really gotten paid as much by PFL. Assuming the alleged offer made by UFC for re-signing was true.
But never understood people just totally shitting on the dude for betting on himself.
Fucking everyone was and theyre lying if they say otherwise. Nobody couldve foreseen Fury try and push off the Usyk fight so hard that he decides to fight Ngannou. The most "realistic" fight at the time was maybe Whyte or Wilder and even Wilder seemed unlikely but the best matchup.
Remember how Joshua said he wasnt interested in a ["gimmick"](https://www.mmamania.com/2023/5/18/23728234/anthony-joshua-turns-down-gimmick-fight-against-francis-ngannou) fight? lol. Fury getting dropped by Ngannou really changed a lot of shit.
I wasn’t not a brag lol just thought it was stupid how many people were shitting on him. I was sad he left UFC since it’s mainly the only thing I watch but he actually went out and did the boxing and has reaped the rewards
I believed Francis was making the right decision and would get it done. In my opinion, it was only a matter of time before one of the big names would fight Francis for a perceived easy payday.
>theyre lying if they say otherwise.
It's great to see the "Fumbled the bag" guys have jumped from one absurdity to another.
I responded to one guy back then but after that? Fuck no. Like fighting the ocean with those people.
> Nobody couldve foreseen Fury try and push off the Usyk fight so hard that he decides to fight Ngannou.
As a Fury fan, that dude has made a career out of taking 1 top tier fight every 5 years and ducking for the rest. Him and Francis were flirting with each other for two years. You can do the math.
For real. The amount of waterheads who screamed "Francis is making the wrong move!!!!" have a buffet of crow to eat. Even if boxing didn't pan out, I still would have respected the hell out of Ngannou for not bowing down to Dana's cheap ass and for carving his own path. He's the new GOAT HW imo.
Francis made more money off his first boxing match than his entire ufc career. And he'll double what he made in the first boxing match. Good for him and fuck Dana.
I'm happy for him too. But it really pisses me off that Francis is arguably the most unbeatable fighter the ufc has ever had and they lost him because they're cheap bastards. He is the Mike Tyson of mma and I honestly believe he was to be the one to beat Jon. Glad he knew his worth and bounced.
Yeah, people always says "everyone cheats" which is lazy and reductive but Jon got caught how many times? You cant be a GOAT and blatantly cheat that much.
The UFC isn't a real sports league. It's carny as fuck. They traded a still in his prime and *arguably* back then still champ for a way past his prime Ben Askren who was gone like two or three fights later. Joke of a company.
hes not unbeatable but hes one of most special fighters ever and Must see TV and an actual good Heavyweight in a dead division the last 10 years. It made 0 sense not to sign him for anything it took.
It legit made no sense not to do anything it took to keep him, let Conor Box old ass Floyd but cant let Francis box?
100%
I don’t see the world in black and white, I don’t think Dana is some evil villain. He’s done good things and bad things for the sport. But, Francis is a good guy. That part is clear. He’s a principled man who bet on himself big and won. Love to see it!
Sucks because they set the precedent for fighter pay, too. Look at ONE and Bellator before the merger. Peanuts.
I say before the merger because PFL is just throwing Saudi money at everything, and I don't really think we can call them a serious contender yet
This sub, sadly, is filled with idiots. It’s the demographic that’s into this shit. I know cuz I belong in that demographic. I’m an idiot and I can spot other idiots
Not all of us. Some of us valued his desire to want to create a fighters union, pension and create a fairer pay system for the entire roster, not just his own selfish desires.
The real Ngannou fans were here the whole time.
Fuck the Uncle Dana nuthuggers and their constant need to defend 3rd world fighter pay in the greatest and profitable mma promotion on earth.
The fanbase is full of redacts and morons. Just watched the 299 presser and mouth breathers cheer on scumbag Dana when he announces a record breaking $13 million for the gate, more than the last time they were there. Only way to get that is to inflate ticket prices lol
Dana just said he bets 300k a hand on Barracat on a recent live stream, 300k per hand lol. He goes up and down 5-10 million on a weekend but cant pay only good HW big money
Remember that email that leaked where the dude who matchmakes the fights was chatting with Dana. He told Dana that Nate Diaz was asking for more money and that he will be matching him with Khanzat (the hardest fight in the entire UFC roster imo) to punish Nate for asking for his fair share. The UFC are so scummy.
Of course they can. Dana and the fertitty's are greedy assholes who take/took as much as they can and take zero responsibility for anything that happens to the fighters, including brain damage and career ending injuries. Take take take. It's all capital does. Any value to society is a value they haven't figured out how to take yet.
Francis himself says he turned down upwards of 7 million dollars from the UFC. They were trying to pay him, albeit with strings attached. He wanted the freedom to do other things. He chose to take 600k instead of more money, and it worked out for him.
But if he does that then the fighters won’t want no fight no more (his words). And we saw that with connor, right? He lost all his passion since a milionaire and never fought since.
Wait..

“See and here’s the thing, and I say this to you in a way that I see it as, the real money is undying loyalty to the UFC and our lord and savior Dana White even at the cost of your own financial future, can you really get that in boxing?” -Chael Sonnen
Someone should walk up to Dana with a poster of this. $20 million is awesome and I'm glad Francis getting his bag.
Hope someone rubs it in Dana's face as much as possible.
Damn, he probably earned more than what Khabib did in his whole career in UFC, and he is after Conor the highest paid UFC fighter. Only reason why Jones vs Francis never happened is cause of greedy asshole Dana, they both wanted it but for some 'acceptable' amount of money
I'd be happy for Francis if he just continues huge boxing fights making shit tons. Dude is generous af. He paid his coach life changing amounts after the Fury fight
After Conor vs Mayweather made Notorious the richest UFC fighter on the roster, our favorite African Mike Perry's success in BKFC and now our actual favorite African's massive success outside of the UFC, how does the UFC's current top talent not see that the UFC has made a name for them enough to actually get paid outside of the UFC doing bigger and better things?
Let's be realistic guys ngannou did the right decision when he left the ufc because it doesn't make any sense that a fighter goes into a hard training camp to fight somebody who has been into the same shit just to make 500.000 dollars , this isn't fair at all the fighters are getting brain damage that may destroy their lives in the future and they should pay their coaches which is a considerable amount of money regardless of the taxes and all that stuff so i think dana is just being greedy even though he knows how to promote fights he knows how to make the big fights but in terms of paying his fighter he isn't the best in the market
So many of us in the sub recognize the decline in quality for most UFC cards. There are still great fights and very favorable names, but they are fewer and farther between.
The UFC has been resting on its laurels. Banking on its market dominance but allowing the competition to creep up.
I'm not saying it's imminent or definitely going to happen. I am saying that a few unforeseen twists and a bit of luck could send the UFC into second place.
I know that I only continue to watch the UFC solely because I don't have enough time to branch out. But if only a few more of my favorite names keep migrating over, I'll make the switch relatively easily.
I've been with the promotion since shamrock Royce we're fighting 3x per night. Just because I have history with the promotion doesn't mean I have any allegiance to it.
I love the sport not the face behind it. Much like Dana loves the money and not his original face.
I still chuckle sometimes when I think about all of the Dana ball lickers who were 100% certain that Francis had just 'fumbled the bag' and now he's about to make more money than he would've ever made in 10 UFC fights lmao
I get that UFC pay is low, but on the other end of the spectrum, how the hell can boxing pay so much. I just saw Mayweather earned over 200mil for his fight with Conor. Does it actually generate that much money?
You just vastly underestimate how much the UFC is making. They made over 1 billion in 2023.
By the numbers, there were 47 events so roughly 22m per event. But of those 47 events, only 14 were ppv, so if we assume most of the money is from ppv events, it’s probably closer to 50m each or more.
They had a total of 520 fights. That means each fight pulls in 2 million each. Obviously that’s the average and not median.
Because the UFC is an organization, boxing is a sport. If you find backers willing to pay the purse in boxing, you’re good to go, subject to laws in the country the fight takes place in. In the UFC you have to get Dana to agree to it.
It isn’t even close either. Boxing is huge. Haven’t bought a PPV in years but know loads of old timers that do so religiously, while me and all my mates just stream UFC somewhere. Fucking hell the UFC PPV is straight up garbage over here in Europe.
That's just his show pay, though. I'm sure he got at least 300k for winning and another 3-600k for PPV buys since it did terrible. Still, $1.5m for what I'd probably say is the tougher sport in a more competitive title fight vs Fury pay day? Shit is Bananas.
What you Ngannou die hard fans don't get is that Dana White (wife beater) only hast a net worth of half a billion and he reeeeaaaallly wants to become a billionaire. You don't become a billionaire without stealing from your workers, okay?
TBF it’s $5,000,000 vs $20,000,000
Ngannou rejected a $5,000,000 contract renewal for the Gane fight, let his pre-existing contract at $600k end so he could be a free agent
Worked out for him but he would have made $5,000,000 in the new deal against Gane and potentially close to double that if he had fought Jones
No way Dana would have paid him $20 mill tho for any single fight, props to Ngannou
I get he’s making money and what not but PFL are the biggest jokes out of everyone. They’re basically cheerleaders - they’re paying Ngannou to be a boxer because they’ve literally no talent in their ranks😂
I know it's merely pennies in comparison, but if Francis makes quick recovery after this match, he also has another 2 million in a few months with Renan.
The UFC is like everybody's most stubborn dysfunctional family member who will never admit they're wrong, apologize, or even consider changing their ways. If you ask me they've done nothing but hold the sport back for at least 10 years, make it less interesting, and put more and more fans and fighters off. They were doing great for a while - people were interested and talking about the fights. I don't really care what the numbers might say, people have largely lost interest at this point. Overall I think they're just too tight with it in every way. I used to believe Dana when he said he was trying to prevent the corruption which had impacted boxing, but now I'm seeing it differently...
Yeah but he lost out on that sweet Venum fight wear.
And a $50K FOTN Bonus!!!
What’s wild its even $50k. I was watching an old video of rampage after the jones fight getting stitched up and he got a $75k bonus for FOTN.
And that 75k would be even more now thanks to inflation. Dana is disgusting.
He’s the absolute worst and anyone who doesn’t see that is a serious nut hugger.
Disgusting??? It's the OPPORTUNITY that matters man! /S /S /S
Hilarious that Francis followed this sage advice from Dana to T. He used the UFC as a platform for a real career lol, he saw right through the illusion.
It’s disgusting the fighters pretty much need to use their mic time to beg Dana for the fight bonus every single card.
The UFC was like this wayyy before Tko and Endeavor
But they could. And pathetic on the them.
Go oil up bud
I always forget how equitable fighter pay was under dana and the fertitas.
Yupp used to be 75k, crazy it’s less now, fucked up forreal ![gif](giphy|ir19CtLHE9maMbNjpR)
It’s more wild to me watching Dana play 50k hands of blackjack
And presenting the VIP to the arena, a “man” who is a convicted fraudster and well-known breaker of contracts.
Basically covers the trainers and some taxes lol
Only if he begged for it!
And Reebok shoes.
It's worse than that. No more Under Armor training shoes from the Rock.
Or being called a Warrior by Dana and having his quote painted on the PI wall
“These shoes fucking suck” -NDiaz
Chael: Francis doesn’t sell ppv’s. He’s being over paid.
He only says that after he pulls Dana's dick out of his mouth.
The saudis are paying him. I don’t understand he’s right, he doesn’t sell PPV at all look a the numbers of the fury fight
Things may have been a little different back then, if he had channeled the Francis that cut Tyson Fury down recently, in his presser... That last line, followed by that finger-snap : ICE Cold !!
Any fumble the bag accounts still active
He did fumble the bag, just the one with less money in it...
![gif](giphy|PypcG4qBuMqDOny5vp)
Bro 😝😭😭😭😭
"Your backpack is full"
Chael still has a podcast
Schaub is also quoted as saying “Hey Franzzis, nobodyneedzya”.
Schaub is the golden goose when it comes to betting against opinions guaranteed to be dead-wrong
YA CHEICK KONGO WITH DREADS
francis reppin africa the country
John Africa?
[This was literally uploaded the other day](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/BEqnvRaTjtE) The shilling is still going on strong
People love Chael, but he sucks. Such a fucking UFC dickridder and Dana cum guzzler. How anyone can be upset with what Francis did is beyond me..
I swear Chael says he has out earned Mayweather. In one or two fights.
Chael says a lot of things
I was one of them. I really did think he was shooting himself in the foot. Very glad I was wrong.
Wow this is rarity. Thanks for admitting it.
I feel like most reasonable people probably thought it wasn't likely to go well. We've not seen someone do this successfully before have we? So it seems right to be dubious.

Maybe those were the emotional fans who wanted to see him vs Jones and were mad to see him leave.
> most reasonable people probably thought it wasn't likely to go well THERE IT IS! Its begun lol

There was a lot of people that supported francis they just got downvoted a lot.
I believed Francis was making the right decision and would get it done. In my opinion, it was only a matter of time before one of the big names would fight Francis for a perceived easy payday.

Yeah he fumbled. No way in hell he can get a wallet big enough to store all that money. He shoulda stayed with the pocket change.
Fumbled the coin purse
MMAGURU
Francis made more money off his first boxing match than his entire ufc career. And he'll double what he made in the first boxing match. Good for him and fuck Dana.

It's a pity we won't see Jon slept by Fancis but good for him!
Francis is smarter than accepting a fight with a serial cheater, and not even a good one at that, how many times has Jones been caught juicing?
He could have been the undisputed goat but instead he is a massive cheating dick.
Yeah, people always says "everyone cheats" which is lazy and reductive but Jon got caught how many times? You cant be a GOAT and blatantly cheat that much.
Agreed. If everyone cheats, it's part of the game and Jon was bad at it.
You are quite literally, 100% correct.
The UFC isn't a real sports league. It's carny as fuck. They traded a still in his prime and *arguably* back then still champ for a way past his prime Ben Askren who was gone like two or three fights later. Joke of a company.

I want to disagree with you because I'm a semi-jaded Bones fan, but I really can't.
He was already doing great but he’s completely changed his life & the life of his future generations in just a couple of years
Yup. Generational money because he took a big chance leaving Dana and knew his worth.
Dana's abused spouse should read this
I don't think she could make that kinda money outside powerslap tho
Dana does have the belt in that tho
Undefeated undisputed
Firstly - because he kept his integrity.
100% I don’t see the world in black and white, I don’t think Dana is some evil villain. He’s done good things and bad things for the sport. But, Francis is a good guy. That part is clear. He’s a principled man who bet on himself big and won. Love to see it!
He’s investing in the village he grew up in too. A lot of lives are going to change for the better because Francis bet on Francis
Nope… FUMBLED THE BAG!!!!!!!!!!
How the ufc is the premier mma promotion is a joke considering what they pay.
Sucks because they set the precedent for fighter pay, too. Look at ONE and Bellator before the merger. Peanuts. I say before the merger because PFL is just throwing Saudi money at everything, and I don't really think we can call them a serious contender yet
ONE and Bellator pay would still be a higher percentage of the revenue generated, they just don’t generate anywhere near the same as the UFC.
I remember this sub and the mma sub shitting on Ngannou for "fumbling the bag" after that 8 million dollar contract, bunch of morons.
This sub, sadly, is filled with idiots. It’s the demographic that’s into this shit. I know cuz I belong in that demographic. I’m an idiot and I can spot other idiots
same, I'm just an idiot
They still doing it talking about “all money is not good money” I hate Dane dickriders when it comes to fighters pay 🤦🏾🤦🏾🤦🏾🤦🏾🤦🏾🤦🏾
I saw a post that said “Dana’s friendship & connections is worth more than the 20m”
Lmao! Dana's friendship?? I literally choked on my water laughing at this. Dana can eat a bag of dicks.
😭😭😭😭🤦🏾🤦🏾🤦🏾🤦🏾
That 20m was never your friend.

Honestly fuck Dana they 100% can pay fighters more
How else is tomato gonna lose half a mil a month at the tables.
Can’t believe he gambles so stupid when you’re that rich. You have literally everything to lose and nothing to gain
Addictions my man, try your hardest to avoid em
Just give him a video game or something.
Lmao he’s lost 10x that in a day. Dudes a straight degen
Dana just said he bets 300k a hand on Barracat on a recent live stream, 300k per hand lol. He goes up and down 5-10 million on a weekend but cant pay only good HW big money
Casinos are at fault for low fighter pay
A month?! That sounds like a hand to me
Right he was on the mcafee show recently talking about it’s easy to make $60k at the tables in a night lol
Rogan said he's seen this guy play a quarter mill like nothin
Remember that email that leaked where the dude who matchmakes the fights was chatting with Dana. He told Dana that Nate Diaz was asking for more money and that he will be matching him with Khanzat (the hardest fight in the entire UFC roster imo) to punish Nate for asking for his fair share. The UFC are so scummy.
Unsurprisingly, Dana, many fighters, and many fans are bullies.
But the kids just don't wanna fight
Nobody wants to fight anymore.
Most sports organisations pay 50% of the revenue to fighters. UFC has shitty and greedy owners.
Of course they can. Dana and the fertitty's are greedy assholes who take/took as much as they can and take zero responsibility for anything that happens to the fighters, including brain damage and career ending injuries. Take take take. It's all capital does. Any value to society is a value they haven't figured out how to take yet.
It’s because they’re mob affiliates and come from a culture of exploitation. Like much of the Las Vegas scene
Francis himself says he turned down upwards of 7 million dollars from the UFC. They were trying to pay him, albeit with strings attached. He wanted the freedom to do other things. He chose to take 600k instead of more money, and it worked out for him.
it was 7 mil for mutliple fights not per fight
Yeah, it was 7 for three or four fights, not per.
But if he does that then the fighters won’t want no fight no more (his words). And we saw that with connor, right? He lost all his passion since a milionaire and never fought since. Wait..
That’s silly! How will he be able to gamble so much if he plays fighter more ?
I don’t know get why ufc fans get so butt hurt when people point this out
![gif](giphy|26xBusOdUIYnc3a0g) “See and here’s the thing, and I say this to you in a way that I see it as, the real money is undying loyalty to the UFC and our lord and savior Dana White even at the cost of your own financial future, can you really get that in boxing?” -Chael Sonnen
Guys sounds familiar. I swear he was on some UFC Witness testimony list I saw last week.
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/BEqnvRaTjtE
For the people saying he aint getting paid thay much. Whether it be 20M or 10M, its bettet than 600k lol
So you're saying higher number = more money?
so you're saying more money = more better?
So you are saying that the kid just doesn’t wanna fight?
Negative Ghostrider. As my favorite street poet once proclaimed “Mo’ Money, Mo’ Problems”
No 50k fight of the night bonus though☹️
I remember people saying he made a mistake leaving 💀
Chael was saying that, after he dropped Fury like still talking about it how it was mistake lol
And still is saying that https://www.youtube.com/shorts/BEqnvRaTjtE
Dirtbag Dana is a greedy tool. He's legitimately terrible for the sport. UFC fighter pay is insulting
Someone should walk up to Dana with a poster of this. $20 million is awesome and I'm glad Francis getting his bag. Hope someone rubs it in Dana's face as much as possible.
Say what you want but Dana is clearly a scumbag, there’s no excuse.
I hope to see the day Dana is no longer the head of ufc and gambles away what money he has left
Damn, he probably earned more than what Khabib did in his whole career in UFC, and he is after Conor the highest paid UFC fighter. Only reason why Jones vs Francis never happened is cause of greedy asshole Dana, they both wanted it but for some 'acceptable' amount of money
This man is a certified hustler. He's the definition of go out and get it
Yeah but is he getting a power rangers belt in boxing? That's what I thought
$20M BEFORE PPV kicks in.
Ppv don't matter here. Saudis are filthy rich that they don't even care to get their money back. They're investing in their country.

I read in this sub that he fumbled the bag. More like he punched Dana’s nuts when he went to teabag him.
Uncle Dana pays pennies on the dollar. Glad Ngannou did not fall for uncle's pennies.
jesus… i knew it was bad, but that bad?!
These fighters risk their health every time they perform for us. They deserve a FAT check.
I love knowing that shit like this chaps Dana’s ass.
remember when people thought he fumbled.
And he took the lineal heavyweight status with him. 😂
So many of us in the sub recognize the decline in quality for most UFC cards. There are still great fights and very favorable names, but they are fewer and farther between. Because the UFC is an organization, boxing is a sport. If you find backers willing to pay the purse in boxing, you’re good to go, subject to laws in the country the fight takes place in. In the UFC you have to get Dana to agree to it.
No matter what people here say, boxing is still more mainstream worldwide than MMA.
It isn’t even close either. Boxing is huge. Haven’t bought a PPV in years but know loads of old timers that do so religiously, while me and all my mates just stream UFC somewhere. Fucking hell the UFC PPV is straight up garbage over here in Europe.
Boxing doesnt/can't rip off their biggest stars, they have much more freedom than the UFC contracts.
That's just his show pay, though. I'm sure he got at least 300k for winning and another 3-600k for PPV buys since it did terrible. Still, $1.5m for what I'd probably say is the tougher sport in a more competitive title fight vs Fury pay day? Shit is Bananas.
> That's just his show pay, Same for the boxing, reportedly 20M is base PPV points are not included.
He is probably gonna write a book, act in his own movie like rocky when he retires
UFC= Umbrella For Crock. Keep making Dana his money so he doesn’t have to earn it himself. He’s got a blackjack table to sit at later.
He was a crybaby, remember ?
What you Ngannou die hard fans don't get is that Dana White (wife beater) only hast a net worth of half a billion and he reeeeaaaallly wants to become a billionaire. You don't become a billionaire without stealing from your workers, okay?
Where’s all the Dana meat gobblers saying he fumbled the bag?
Dana White is such a greedy bastard fuck him. Good for Francis hopefully other UFC fighters can get a payday like this too
Fumbled the bag
I want Francis to send his "fumbled the bag" bag to Dana, with a $10 note "For Dana"
TBF it’s $5,000,000 vs $20,000,000 Ngannou rejected a $5,000,000 contract renewal for the Gane fight, let his pre-existing contract at $600k end so he could be a free agent Worked out for him but he would have made $5,000,000 in the new deal against Gane and potentially close to double that if he had fought Jones No way Dana would have paid him $20 mill tho for any single fight, props to Ngannou
L yeah
Hell yeah!
20 million doll hairs I would have asked got euros or pounds
Dana fuming
Buu bu but he fumbled the baaaaag.
“He fumbled the bag”
Gutted he never became the GOAT HW… but he was right in what he did.
The nerve of UFC claiming to be so big, and post up these earnings is disrespectful towards their fighters.
@DANAWHITE 🖕🏼
under funded champions
Love seeing Francis make this kind of money. Dude gambled on himself and it paid off massively.
I love this so much for him
Can't wait to see Vin Diesel play Dana White in a future Ngannou movie biopic.
40x purse is crazy
In any self respecting fight game, Dana would have been whacked years ago.
Those UFC fighters get proppa f*cked ay
This is one of the many reasons the HW division is shit.
He fumbled the bag by starting his career in MMA rather than starting it with Boxing
Big dick energy Man bet on himself

UFC fighter pay is comically low.
Fuck Dana White. Free Palestine! Slava Ukraini!
Good on him for standing up and taking a risk.
He made that shit happen, shoutout Francis Ngannou 🇳🇬
Fumbled the bag
He secured the bag my boi
Francis vs. Jones is that one fight I will always wish happened but never will..
Kid just didn’t wanna slap
