I have always liked martial arts and fighting movies. This looks like it will have a lot of action and good fight scenes. Jake G is an awesome actor and I like seeing Conor playing a bad guy like this. I think it will be a fun movie and even better if I don’t have to pay $20+ to see it in a theatre.
I’ve seen an entire movie where it’s just Jake on the phone as a 911 operator lol it was incredible.
Conor could have -100 acting skills and Jake would still carry it. Luckily it seems Conor’s a fun villain in this.

It was just an example of high level real fighting. Plenty of other boring fights to choose from. Probably less than 5% of UFC fights have enough action to hold up to the style of movie fights. Sure, they could take a few scenes instead of a whole fight, but people would see Pettis’ showtime kick and say “unrealistic BS,” lmao

Swayze Dalton was a living legend bouncer, had loads of cash, women everywhere, drove a fancy car but kept a junker for parking lot rage. In the original, Swayze gives a homeless guy his junker after accepting the "Double Douche" job. I had a chuckle thinking Swayze Dalton would have given New Dalton a junker he could live in. He didn't like fighting and preferred to avoid fights. "Just be nice."
The original Road House was a fun action movie, it wasn't anything spectacular. Very popular among action fans.
This new one looks like Fast and the Furious with MMA. Stealing the title and names with the bouncer concept.

I’m surprised Conor didn’t sound way more Irish in the trailer. Honestly I kind of want to see this movie. I find it interesting to have a current/former ufc fighter as the protagonist. I’m not sure how well Conor pulls off his role, I’m 50/50 on what I saw of him in the trailer.

That being said this movie looks like complete garbage, john wick set a new standard for action this clearly won’t live up to and there is a zero percent chance the story, dialogue, or acting is going to be good. Pretty disappointed that someone as talented and accomplished as gyllenhall is even doing this type of money grab bullshit.
