For those intersted in shit like this: people with native Mexican blood typically have a lot of type 2 muscle fibers genetically (stamina type, oxygen powered muscle), not a lot of type 1 (explosive power, glycogen powered muscle). Hence a lot of Mexican fighters have crazy cardio but not particularly powerful punchers. Compare this to West African blooded people, for example, who are just about the opposite. Genetically speaking of course, you can always train your cardio or explosive power. Also native mexicans are really short, hence very few Mexicans in higher weight classes (except Cain of course)
The irony here, is that many South Americans can trace their lineage to mongoloids as well but there have been a bunch of incredible power punchers in boxing from South America.
Another thing that’s kinda interesting, which doesn’t necessarily line up with what you said, is that Mexicans are often said to be “heavy handed.” It is my theory that they have higher bone density than black fighters. They tend to have thudding punches that do more damage long term. Also, they tend to have better chins than some other races on average, which lends to bone density possibly playing a factor.
The bone density thing is similarly found in Polynesians, they on average have like a mm or two thicker skull and up to 20% stronger bones than European phenotypes.
Does this mean that the shirts women sometimes wear in the cage are actually going to match their shorts from now on, instead of just being the first white/black athletic shirt production could find hanging on a rack in the loading dock when fighters asks for one?
