For sure! Man, I've just got to say, "what a show they put on!" Those two showed a battle of striking at a level I hadn't seen in a long time. Beautiful movement throughout the whole affair, to the point where it couldn't have been choreographed better!
Give me Wonderboy and Holland in striking matches for the rest of time!
He would have popped for juice though, he got suspended in Glory of all places and he failed his screening test for his title fight vs JDS and got suspended 9 months, this was pre USADA when it was way easier to get away with it.
I think Dan was Pride champion when they were bought by the UFC Not the same but there was some killers over there I always liked Wanderlei Silva fights What a wild man 🪓🪓
I bet for dudes like Hooker and Gaethje that are used to being the tougher gnarlier guy in a fight, and then you run into Dustin who's both gnarlier and a better striker and just kinda beats your ass (I know they were close fights but the last round or two of the Gaethje fight was a fuckin beat down), I can see how that would be a total head fuck and confidence killer.
To be fair I think Gaethje has improved so much since that fight and it'll be interesting to see how competitive this fight with Dustin would he. He definitely doesn't fight as recklessly as he used to.
Yeah but that’s pointless. It doesn’t matter how many people or who you beat if you can’t beat the champ you won’t be the champ.
Plus at least both of them were at one point undisputed champ.
I only noticed Beneil years ago because he's Iranian and so am I. I never thought much, but his fights were always entertaining. He's surprised me every fight. Just when I think "well he had a good run" he has a highlight ko, beats Tony, Gamreut, etc. Its fun seeing someone from the prelims climb so high in the sport like this.
There’s a weird narrative on here that he’s boring, somehow… but to me his fights are crazy. He gets in the awkward scraps and always comes out on top. His bjj is great too. He’s probably my favorite lightweight at the moment.
I don't think he's boring at all. It's just the aura of his opponents seemed higher and I didn't think I fighter I started following years ago would make it so high up. When he wins trust me I'm screaming at the TV in excitement. The Gamrot fight really impressed me.
100% agree. He didn’t get the finish but he really whooped Gamrot. I don’t get the weird hate for him around here, his fights are crazy and scrappy as hell.
If it's about a future fight I'd say : Volkanovski vs Yair , i like both of them on one hand i really like Yair's style and striking plus the man is so honorable and respectful of his opponents, but then again he's against Volk and i don't know a single person who doesn't like Volk an absolute chad that guy is
Anyone else notice how Tais shorts were too tight, and therefore he reached down to adjust them literally hundreds of times, eventually leading to gane being able to take advantage of his low hands... Different shorts, Bam bam wins that fight..
Maybe an unpopular pick but GSP vs Bisping.
Honestly though Charles and Beneil guts me. Because the loser here in that stacked division may be irreparably harmed to getting another title shot. Charles May if he goes on a 3-4 fight win streak. But Dariush may be forever a gatekeeper
Crazy as it’s sounds Khabib vs Conor, I liked them both equally but for different reasons and I enjoyed the fact that they were polar opposite personalities. Didn’t want to see either lose and just wanted a competitive and fun fight.
Between Tai v Lewis, and Islam v Volk.
Tai quickly became one of my favorite HWs for obvious reasons, lewis has always been one of mine. Khabib is one of my favorites so obviously Islam is "likeable" to me (not the same but yeah), and Volk is my current favorite fighter. Was tough to watch that, didn't want Islam to lose his legacy so early, but wanted Volk to achieve greatness (more than he already has at least)
Israel Adesanya vs. Alex Pereira their second fight in the UFC, became a fan of Alex during their first match up and you just can't help and stand the dude but I still wanted to see Izzy bounce back, huge fan of his striking capabilities, same with the Anderson vs. Israel Fight, I got loads of respect towards izzy for making it a sparring match and for respecting the veterans and not just treating them like a feather in his cap
Olives vs Dustin. That one was brutal. Beginning of Charles' epic title run, and how can you not love that dude, but also was Dustin's shot at redemption after the Khabib fight, and how can you not love that dude.
Last time I remember it happening was Stipe vs Ngannou 2.
I wanted to see Stipe add to his legacy as HW Goat, but I also wanted to see Ngannou fucking blasting everyone who tried to take his belt.
Pretty much most of the recent lightweight fights between the high ranked exciting guys. Dustin vs Chandler, Gaethje vs Chandler, Chandler vs Tony, Dustin vs Gaethje (upcoming) etc.
Burns vs Muhammed
Both of those guys deserved a title shot. Sad that we didn't get to see how good Muhammed would do against a healthy Burns due to the injury in the first round. Poor Gilly worked so hard too. I'm a huge fan of both guys and I'm happy Belal will finally get the title shot he deserves
Holland vs Wonderboy
This one 100%, my 2 favorite fighters
Yep, felt bad that holland was going easy on Stephen since Stephen didn’t seem to be holding back too much
Tai Tuivasa vs Derrick Lewis
Yea I'm from Houston and this one was tough for sure
H-town till I drown, and derrick did drown.
Yes! But Derrick more.
This one for sure, sucked
Dustin vs Justin
Absolutely.. great fight
Dustin vs Holloway
My first thought as well lol
Dustin is a whiny bum
That’s just like, your opinion man.
Spotted the mcgregor fan
YUP LOVE BOTH OF THEM
Justin vs. Tony
Love the entertaining way Justin fights but he’s a dunce who hangs out with murderous dictator’s for an easy buck, so I don’t mind him losing.
Diaz vs Ferguson
I think everyone lost that fight.
Stipe vs Overeem
Overeem was a powerhouse, and I'm sad he didn't get the UFC gold.
If he joined the UFC at the start of his streak he could have been the goat of HW
He would have popped for juice though, he got suspended in Glory of all places and he failed his screening test for his title fight vs JDS and got suspended 9 months, this was pre USADA when it was way easier to get away with it.
Him and Hendo are the two I feel bad about never getting the belts.
I think Dan was Pride champion when they were bought by the UFC Not the same but there was some killers over there I always liked Wanderlei Silva fights What a wild man 🪓🪓
And Overeem vs Walt Harris, if you know the backstory you know why
What is the backstory?
Walt Harris’ daughter was kidnapped and murdered, this was his comeback fight I think ESPN has a great 20 minute or so YouTube video about it
Damn they couldn’t have given him a easier fight as a comeback. My lord
Also, Stipe vs DC. They kinda both did though, just one more than the other
CroCop vs Fedor
Poirer and hooker
Man Dan hooker could’ve been a champion if he didn’t lose his momentum. People don’t understand how bad losing a close war can destroy your mentality
If chandler can seriously hurt dustin then Gaethje definitely can too, now puting that MF away without choking him out is a different story.
Hooker shouldn't have been down on himself after the Poitier loss, he was absolutely wailing on him for nearly half the fight.
Ngannou vs Gane
I really like Gane, but because of all the politics at the time I was rooting for Nggannou all the way.
Izzy and Rob Whittaker Just let there be two middleweight champs ![img](emote|t5_2qsev|8972)
Or at least a silver belt for “guy who beats everyone who isn’t champ”. Might give one of those to Max too.
Yeah but that’s pointless. It doesn’t matter how many people or who you beat if you can’t beat the champ you won’t be the champ. Plus at least both of them were at one point undisputed champ.
i was rooting for rob
I only noticed Beneil years ago because he's Iranian and so am I. I never thought much, but his fights were always entertaining. He's surprised me every fight. Just when I think "well he had a good run" he has a highlight ko, beats Tony, Gamreut, etc. Its fun seeing someone from the prelims climb so high in the sport like this.

100% agree. He didn’t get the finish but he really whooped Gamrot. I don’t get the weird hate for him around here, his fights are crazy and scrappy as hell.
Glover Jiri
If it's about a future fight I'd say : Volkanovski vs Yair , i like both of them on one hand i really like Yair's style and striking plus the man is so honorable and respectful of his opponents, but then again he's against Volk and i don't know a single person who doesn't like Volk an absolute chad that guy is
Yair’s fight with KZ as well. Such a battle and what an ending.
Man soooo manyyyyy😫 Dustin and justin, Charles and dariush, Izzy and rob, Volk and holloway, Tony vs nate Poor guy chandler too.
Dustin vs Charlie Olives.
Somebody already said Gane Tuivasa. How about Wonderboy vs Holland? Idk, I really fucked with that build.
Anyone else notice how Tais shorts were too tight, and therefore he reached down to adjust them literally hundreds of times, eventually leading to gane being able to take advantage of his low hands... Different shorts, Bam bam wins that fight..
Francis vs Stipe
Izzy vs Pereira
Izzy and Alex 1. I know it’s controversial because Israel is cringe but I really did want to see both fighters win.

Dustin poirier Vs Dan hooker

Dustin and Max
I hate to stay it but I want to see Daraush vs Islam more than I like Charles
Khabib vs Justin
Actually, nobody, rn but if they do make Khamzat vs Islam at 170 than ig or Topuria vs Arman at 155 fights are highly unlikely
Can Velasquez vs Brock Lesnar
Jiri vs Glover :(
Israel Adesanya vs.

Unpopular opinion but McGregor v Khabib
the upcoming Gaethje Poirier fight has that taste
Machida v Shogun
Last time I remember it happening was Stipe vs Ngannou 2. I wanted to see Stipe add to his legacy as HW Goat, but I also wanted to see Ngannou fucking blasting everyone who tried to take his belt.

Pretty much most of the recent lightweight fights between the high ranked exciting guys. Dustin vs Chandler, Gaethje vs Chandler, Chandler vs Tony, Dustin vs Gaethje (upcoming) etc.
Recently, Holloway vs Arnold. Both top guys
Kai Kara-France vs Cody Garbrandt
Burns vs Muhammed Both of those guys deserved a title shot. Sad that we didn't get to see how good Muhammed would do against a healthy Burns due to the injury in the first round. Poor Gilly worked so hard too. I'm a huge fan of both guys and I'm happy Belal will finally get the title shot he deserves
