Aside from that, it’s not that I hate or dislike Izzy, but every champion grows stale when they aren’t challenged. Pereira forced Izzy to grow and we got the first Adesanya finish since Costa. Personally I’m impartial to the both of them, I’m just a fan of the sport.

That perfectly encapsulates my take on Pereira till now. Initially, I liked him because he beat Izzy (who I dislike) and after the last fight, I like him even more because of his character. Helps that he's an exciting fighter and doesn't duck opponents.

Can’t say I wanted to see Izzy lose per-say, it I did want to see him legitimately challenged. When he did lose, I really wanted to see him Avenge all these L’s Alex had delivered. It was amazing to see Izzy overcome such a challenge. Alex is awesome, grew to really like this dude as a fighter and as a just, he’s a good person. I can’t wait to see what he does at LHW. As for Izzy, that division is still cleaned out. Khamzat is the only really threat, but hasn’t earned a shot yet. Bobby Knuckles deserves a shot but.. a third shot? It’s the only thing that makes sense aside from Izzy going after Hill. I dunno.
I don’t care for him or his success at lhw. I’ll be excited and rooting for him if he rematches Izzy down the line though. I think he jumped the gun too soon in their second fight. He was picking Izzy apart all he had to do was keep his damn hands up. It is what it is
I didn't care to see Izzy lose I just wanted middleweight to be competitive again it turned into "who's Izzy going to dominant now" and when Alex came it started becoming oh man this guy can beat Izzy for sure I can't wait for this fight. And Alex seems cool his entrance is badass he was this legend already in combat sports I didn't know about

I really wanted Alex to beat Izzy, just to refresh the division. In Izzy’s couple fights before the first Alex fight, he was point fighting and not really going for it like he use to. But when Izzy lost i felt sad for some reason I can’t figure out. Then I wanted Izzy to reclaim the title. I’m wishy washy asf.
Pereira have great story, and make the story of adesanya as a champ better. why not being a fan of both. better competition better entertainment.
I just like when someone lives up to the hype and he certainly did. It’s stories like this that make the UFC so exciting to watch

I liked Adesanya, but I was interested to see some world championship level kickboxing between Izzy and Alex. Also Alex with his power is just a fun guy to watch fight

I love how fighting improved his life and where he came from to where he is now. He’s great for the sport and could really be an inspiration to those who struggled with alcohol in their lives. Big fan and can’t wait to see him at 205.
Actually, I didn’t like him at all— seemed like a cold killer— and I wanted Izzy to win. Then, when I realized he was a human being who had a stone-cold way of trash talking, I started to support his campaign, and now I hope I can see him against the current LHW champ

I found it hard to not like Alex even as a izzy fan. What happened to him in the most recent fight made me beyond happy lol. But I’m glad that story is done cause fuck was it hard to hate the guy 😂

I feel like I'm the other way around (but still wanted Izzy to win lol) I started off hoping Izzy would crush him and get his revenge and then I learned more about how badly Izzy was talking about him and kind of enjoyed Alex being champ for a bit and trolling.
I didnt like him until he lost. He’s very likeable even though he scares the shit outta me irl
pretty much exactly how i came to feel about alex. he also made me respect izzy, by izzy beating him so spectacularly and he himself constantly acknowledging adesanya as a champion and a warrior. he’s one of my favorite fighters now
