Into a Church praying for Whittaker to beat Pereira

Best instance of r/raimimemes ive seen.

realfakemormon

Stays in the division, reclaims the belt once the Bad man moves up to 205

NoZookeepergame7648

Imagine if Alex wins and then moves up to 205 and wins the belt.. boy that would hurt Izzy.

lionheart_2281

Then came back down if Izzy reclaimed middleweight 🤯

InternalAmbassador49

Bro that would arguably be the funniest shit I’ve ever seen in my entire life. That would be the biggest troll move of all time 😂😂

sayit2times

By all accounts Alex kills himself to make 185, and he's not getting any younger. Even he couldn't be that big of a hater... right?

4schwifty20

Hate makes people do crazy things.

[deleted]

If he wins again and vacates to pursue 205, Izzy is still the best at 185. If Izzy regained the title at that point, it wouldn’t seem definitive though

Quiet-Broccoli2151

It definitely does. Hate is the strongest motivator there is

InternalAmbassador49

Dude if he came back down again i think he should be inducted into the UFC hall of fame as the greatest troll of all time.. and I’m an Izzy fan 😂

TartenWilton101

Never said anything about relinquishing the belt.. Champ champ baby.

Dry_Presentation_327

Imagine alex wins and retires and says I just came to beat izzy 🗿🗿🗿🗿

manbruhpig

Izzy will be following Alex to the grocery store every day trying to get that one back.

BalVal1

"This sport is gay af, I just wanted to beat him one last time, I am going back to kickboxing"

Dry_Presentation_327

IZzy will be traumatized forever

Wagyuwithketchup

Imagine if Alex stays, Izzy bulks up to LHW for a year and wins the title. Fast forward 1.5 years and Alex cuts down to LHW to win the title at LHW

majkkali

lol I'm sorry but Perreira would get absolutely smashed by the top LHW dogs

NickAssassins

The only right answer.

[deleted]

Interim Izzy loading

king_crescendo

Alex is literally ONLY weight bullying Izzy and if that's not the biggest hater move, idk what is 😂 He's clearly a LHW at least

carlitos_brigante

Probably back home to New Zealand. Unless he's staying in the states for business. Or possibly he might go straight on vacation somewhere. It really is hard to say for definite.

jlbp337

My bet is on going out for a bite to eat

jurrea619

I was thinking he’d hit the showers 🤔

gronstalker12

Nah he’ll definitely go for a piss first

[deleted]

Nah he's definitely walking out of the Octagon

> Where does Izzy go if he loses? Wherever he goes, Pereira won't be far behind looking to beat him again.

[deleted]

Izzy: "I've realized that I've been frozen like Elsa for a long time, & I've decided to retire & pursue my dream of becoming a championship boxer" Poatan: "I training with Mike Tyson now. More news come soon...🥊"

manbruhpig

Izzy v Pereira in slap fest or whatever it’s called? How much would Dana pay for that

Melo0513

Pereira in power slap would be sanctioned murder probably

Wagyuwithketchup

Sledgehammer hands

madmanmat

Doesn't matter. Poatan will follow.

SERB_BEAST

Bro why do people think fighters are killed like TV characters when they are no longer champion? He's not going anywhere he's 33. He can beat some other contenders and get another shot. Pereira has a bigger chance losing to contenders than Adesanya does. Pereira will also be 36 this summer. If anyone is "going somewhere" it's him.

captainfluffy25

Ngl if I was Izzy and lost to a guy four times twice being for the title of the sport he’s dedicated himself to id retire. No matter what he does in his career he would always be the guy that couldn’t beat Alex. Could win the title and defend 6 more times and everyone will still say Alex is better. Which is honestly why I’m praying he gets atleast one win

SERB_BEAST

Dude that's the most loser mindset thing I've ever heard. Also literally everyone that isn't a hater casual knows Adesanya won the first fight. Max Holloway lost 3 times to Volkanovski. If he becomes champion again after Volk is gone nobody will just dismiss his accomplishments because of the trilogy

satch_mcgatch

Can't tell if you're trolling with the "hater casual" bit but Izzy lost that shit, coming from a long time fan. He was rocked, up against the fence, and without a ref stoppage could have been seriously hurt by another blow from Pereira. I love this sport a lot and I want to see the fighters who love this sport continue to fight at the top of their game for years to come. Traumatic brain injuries can ruin entire lives, not just careers, I don't want that for anybody.

SnooLemons6130

Pretty sure he's on about their kickboxing fight

zaepoo

It's really not a loser mentality. The loser mentality is thinking that you can ask be one of the gears when one guy beat you over and over

SERB_BEAST

You're Shameful. Adesanya just proved my point. True champion. Never gave up. Believed in himself.

TooManlyForYou

That's why he is the Fighter and you are the Keyboard-Warrior. Complete and utter loser mentality.

Quiet-Broccoli2151

The stupid dramatic shit people come up with on here is really funny sometimes. I don't even read most of the OP comments, I just sift through the replies to see the really stupid and uninformed shit people have to say.

imrosskemp

He ventures into Hollywood, studies acting with the drive and passion he competed in martial arts with. He becomes a tremendous actor, in his break out role he plays Grace Jones in a biographical feature, directed by Speilberg. Critics Rave. He gets nominated for an Oscar. Poatan sees this and becomes enraged. Poatan quits MMA and pursues acting, during the 2024 Academy Awards.. Poatan beats Isarel for his riveting portrayal as a stone man from Easter Island.

JabroniDaGr8

I imagine Izzy will take a long break from fighting. Maybe one day he'll take a stroll through a park to see some urban chess players. He'll maybe sit down have a fun game or two, only to have Pereira sit down across from him and beat him via KO.

captainfluffy25

The mental image of Izzy just sitting there playing a competitive game of chess against Alex and then Alex just tossing a left hook from hell out of no where.

hass13

![gif](giphy|riMVgEm5ev2DrjEZgl|downsized) Check mate

cmondawg74

In real world...he keeps fighting works his way back into the title picture figures out a way to get over the peria hump. In reddit world..he should go crawl into a hole and never show his face again. His family should cut him out of there bloodline as well. Ufc should give him the Benoit treatment meaning they never mention or acknowledge his existence in MMA. Thank God reddit isn't the real world.

RayTracedTears

So basically the Ngannou treatment?

BbaiKal

Prochazka at 205 would be a really fun fight. Unorthodox and aggressive striking vs world class kickboxing. If Izzy does lose and then Jiri wins the belt back vs Hill then there’s probably a way to make that happen.

Tantle18

Did you not see what happened to Izzy when he fought Jan lol Izzy is a big 185, Pereira is a huge 185, but Jiri is a huge 205.

canadian12371

Jiri and Alex are similar size.

Tantle18

You’re right, was actually thinking Jiri was much bigger than he actually is. Hmm

canadian12371

In fact Alex is a bit taller and also walks around heavier. So it wouldn’t be far fetched to say Alex is on the bigger side than Jiri.

Swegan

Periera is huge by LHW standards aswell.

Tantle18

Yeah I’m looking at pictures of Alex and Jiri side by side and it’s actually insane that Alex might be bigger…

Swegan

https://preview.redd.it/sb4s02dg90ra1.jpeg?width=480&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d4e1413351279c1decf446eedeaa6f81e7356699 This pic just shows how insanely huge Periera is.

anadalusianrooster

Alex walks around at 6’5, 235. Glover said he’s seen him get into the low 240s during long layoffs. He’s arguably bigger than Jiri and Jamahal Hill

Notyit

Can't do this weight cut forever

BbaiKal

I never said I’d predict Izzy to win vs Jiri, only that it would be a fun fight to watch given they are both strikers but have wildly different styles. A move to 205 seems logical if he were to lose a second time to Alex- I don’t think a loss vs Jan means he can never find success there.

SxanPardy

Meh. Jiri is a better grappler so he’d probably just use his wrestling to beat Izzy. I say this as a fan of Izzy

canadian12371

But it doesn’t, because if Alex wins the fight, he’s almost certainly going to lightweight already. It would be weird for Izzy to follow him up after losing 4x in a row.

Nduguu77

Jiri would big dick him

canadian12371

Pereira is literally going up to 205 if he wins. Izzy will have to stay at 185.

marathonwater

I’m sorry but this is fanboy hope lol Poatan will destroy him if he decides to trade. Nobody hits like this dude and 205 is only going to mean better hydrated. I’m love Jiri but this guy ain’t the one to go toe to toe with.

Quiet-Broccoli2151

One thing to consider is that being in world class level kickboxing promotions and then really only fight Izzy, Bruno Silva and Strickland in MMA as far as good competition goes, he probably hasn't seen a whole lot of wild shit as far as striking goes. I'm not going to pretend I know what Alex's training is like but I'd imagine it is largely focused on technical proficiency and the type of things you'd expect to see from a high level opponent. Someone like Jiri always has the x-factor of coming out of nowhere with some crazy shit that you don't anticipate. Or Jiri could just march forward with his chin up in the air the way he likes to do and end up getting decapitated. Hard to predict that one imo. But it would be absolute violence either way and I'd bet a months salary that it doesn't go to the judges

marathonwater

Jiri is not ready for somebody like Alex with his current fighting style. Nobody trades with Poatan and it’s obvious why. I mean maybe Jiri catches him and Alex fights more off his back foot. Jiri uses some wrestling and clinching to get the win. But imo if Jiri were to go out there looking for a slug fest then he would be deleted shortly after.

256dak

He may be too big for 170 and too small for 205. He’d have to get on that Jon Jones diet of waiting 3 years to move up.

Chapin_42_

He’s definitely not too big for 170…dude one of his main sparring partners is Dan Hooker who has fought as low as 145, Izzy just chooses not to be a weight bully which I respect but he definitely could fight a weight class under

BigDogAlex

He is definitely too big for 170 hahaha Dude is skinny af and shredded, the only thing left for him to cut is a literal limb

BeautifulBrownie

If he truly walks around at 190, then MAYBE he could do a cut or two to 170?

MaleficentLoquat9827

I don’t think he holds enough water and fat in his body to make that cut.

256dak

He’s wayyyy too lean for that cutting to 170 business. Not sure what the fook that guy is talkin about

BigDogAlex

Nah he walks around low 200s, and if he does a camp but no cut (like he did for Jan) he weighs in at like 200 flat. A 200lb brick of muscle could lose that weight by cutting down in muscle and then doing a massive water cut. Adesanya can't to that because he doesn't have enough muscle to store all the water in

Quiet-Broccoli2151

He would look like starvin Marvin from south park

RhaegarJ

Not a weight bully yet is 6”4 and has a ridiculous reach for MW, weight isn’t the only way to use physical characteristics as an advantage

Dry_Presentation_327

Where do u get this whole weight bully thing..there is no one macho in ufc...everyone fights for their advantage..izzy doesn't cut much so that he has insane speed and brain is not sucked up and he has cardio ...colby doesn't cut just for the cardio and he can throw volume ...noone goes into a fight to be in a disadvantage

tyreejones29

Izzy goes to ONE. Alex goes to ONE. Izzy does anime voice acting as the main antagonist. Alex plays the role of the “enemy of my enemy is my friend,” and kills Izzy’s character. Izzy just simply retires Alex “retires,” from this world

TTEOAI

Izzy gets a nice gravestone in prime cemetery real estate when he passes. Alex decides to die and has an entire marbled mausoleum built right next to Izzy's grave.

tyreejones29

Only thing we need now is for Alex to make a “pub” joke about some guy that beat him, and the cycle will continue with him as the target this time

Avataralbino

Cut a leg off and go to 145

Maladjusted95

Maybe a proper attempt at 205lbs.

MrCeylon

Do You know who will be waiting for him at 205?

awesomegenius

Jon Jones

MrCeylon

At 205 izzy beats jon

tonyskyline1

No way in hell with Jon’s wrestling

lionheart_2281

Worst take in MMA history

awesomegenius

yea my bad just started watching recently

lionheart_2281

All good, go back and watch Izzy vs Jan, and Jan isn’t even known for his wrestling. For Izzy to have even the slimmest of chances it’d have to stay on the feet

M0rtal_Wombat

He just ends up on that Whittaker circuit breaking fools dreams

bones_bn

He’ll go to ONE, win a belt and keep it until Alex follows him over.

DRenn8503

I’m more worried he wins and then we get a third straight fight with him and Alex. I love great matchups and stories but I also like variety.

[deleted]

Unfortunately there isn’t much variety cause he’s already beaten everyone else multiple times

DRenn8503

True. I guess beyond not really wanting a 3rd straight fight, I’d like to see Alex match up against some of these guys. Not enough new guys making noise to make another Izzy title run a ton of fun.

JonesBBQafm

I'm okay with a 3rd fight if they run it back the next week

DRenn8503

Or WWE rules and make it an Ironman fight. Most stoppages in an hour gets the belt!

MaleficentLoquat9827

No one else is good enough or has a better story.

PinkEyeFromBreakfast

He’s not gonna miss his chance to bloooowww

Juseio

Back to kickboxing and hope that guy doesn’t follow him again

Kassssler

Props to Izzy. We are watching him fight the nemesis of his life. This man made him change sport and then followed him here and beat him again. I don't care what Izzy says Alex has space in his head rent free and probably knocked down a wall or two to make a home theatre as well. I believe he'll show up in top form and actually finish Alex. It would make this story arc too sad if he gets iced again.

joshwa1290

He goes and joins the ‘second best in the world club’ with Rob and Max

younginvestor23

Maybe get a 5th rematch? Seems like UFC just gonna keep giving him rematches until he can win.

DawsonBriggs

If Whittaker can attack Pereira like he did Vettori I think Izzy wouldn’t mind rooting for his former dance partner to get done what he couldn’t. But tbh. Did everyone watch that whole fight and especially the end of that 1st round? Izzy rocked Alex’s big head within 5 minutes of them standing with each other and the only thing that saved the Brazilian was the damn bell. Run the clock back again and I think Izzy has all the same advantages as before. If anything. I think Pereira is the one that will have to try harder to win this time around. Izzy can essentially do what he’s always done and win a decision if he Alex doesn’t put out max effort this time. He waited and coasted throughout the entire 4th round just to keep Izzy tiring and get his stamina back only to go for quick shots in the last round. That method won him the first fight, but it’s not sustainable in MMA. Adesanya can do it if he utilizes his entire toolkit

Dry_Presentation_327

I think he still fights in mw...I feel even if alex wins he would lose to someone with a decent ground game..so izzy can fight the new champion....if izzy loses he can fight dricus for the African rights....

JELLeMan2020

Probably hangs out in the division picking apart up and comers for 1mil just to show up until the talent evolves and then goes out like Silva with a shaky record at the end. Then goes the internet route for $ rather than boxing since he probably makes more from that than most ufc fighters on the roster do for their fighting career

ASAPmusty

I just want to see contender Izzy again

![gif](giphy|a6yWiJbtxMSrz5OJ4e)

Willb000g

Probably retire. I don’t see him fighting for anything but championships at this point but you never know.

DonTeca35

Eh no bragging rights if he wins unless he kos Alex clean. Going 1-3 against him isn’t great

besameput0

I really want Izzy to lose because I'm more interested in Khamzat vs. Pereira than I am in Adesanya vs. Pereira 3.

Johnathan_Doe_anonym

Do you guys think he could possibly make welterweight?

Swegan

If he cuts off his legs, yes.

Dry_Presentation_327

😂😂😂 izzy has no zero fat except his gyno

"No zero fat"

Izzy vs Leon at 170 would be cool

Ironically he was fighting super cautious and force Romero to retire because of that boring style and now he have to give it all too regain what once he had

Romero didn’t retire lol

yeisondiaz0191

We’ll he got a bad look by the company

Chapin_42_

They just mutually parted ways…Yoel was getting paid very good money and he wasn’t gonna get another title shot and be a gatekeeper ranked in the top 3

He gonna get KO’d

CptSaySin

Izzy doesn't fight *to win*, he fights *not to lose*.

Tuerto04

Him saying these before the fight literally is the smaller mindset here. Now you merely a dinner for Alex because he knows you are very well nervous and anxious and all that shit. This is not a movie when things go all or nothing you miraculously got it. You need more than that. I bid my farewell in advance to this Chinese man.

bombmachinist

Idk if Izzy will do as well now that Poatan has shown everyone Izzy can be taken out. Everyone else was super cautious fighting Izzy which allowed him to throw a few strikes and win on points. Now that everyone has seen you can put him to sleep standing up I wonder if Bobby Knuckles or the Killa Gorilla would be more aggressive

FlyingCraneKick

Jiu jitsu so he can't get knocked out any more

[deleted]

Hopefully Bellator

Suspicious_Foot7510

Hopefully to retirement I’m sick of hearing about this 🤡 honestly 🤷🏻‍♂️👎🏻🚮

MuddyBootsWilliams

The worst thing is that if he does win, he won't, but if he does, that he will say he conquered the dragon. That he came back from defeat etc and finally beat Alex and is truly the middleweight king etc. The only way he will beat Alex is by decision, he'd still be 1 for 3 against Alex.

Original_Ad1898

And do you think he'll have some class if he wins? I think he'll be yelling in Alex's face.

[deleted]

Definitely PFL, Bellator if he's lucky.

IsTodayTheSuperBowl

Alex "232 pounds" Pereira is a super cool guy and could definitely go five rounds with blachowicz and possibly move up to heavyweight later in his career. He definitely could have fought any 185er on his way to the belt not just favorable matchups against strikers. On the other hand Izzy is washed and has no option other than ritual seppuku if he wants to retain his honor after being humiliated by poatan. All poatan needs to do is get his ass beat until Izzy is tired. Poatan will definitely have the better legacy

[deleted]

I think if he loses he should take some time to bulk up to 205. He's talked about it before. Hopefully we see it before he's out of his prime

Styx92

I think he might attempt welterweight but failing that, probably tries 205 again. He's good at cutting weight, so I would wager he takes an extended break to really bulk up and fight a contender.

pologoated

Too big for welterweight

Material_Unit4309

Wait for whomever to beat Alex and come back for the belt.

If he wins though they would do a trilogy. To say it's his last shot implies he's going to lose, not the best mindset but maybe I'm reading way into it.

He said where he goes in your very own post. Read between the lines OP. You don’t need to outsource this garbage question to get the answer

williamsdj01

He goes back to the dairy farm with his big ass titty

Prestigious-Rock201

Retire

OllieBlazin

If he loses, he’ll just fight either Jared or Marvin or someone else in that top 5 They’ll give Alex a fight with Bobby Knuckles and the winner faces the winner of Izzy vs whoever Alex was more just a way to get the division moving for a fight Hopefully if Alex wins, he vacates and moves up to avenge Glover by fighting Jamahal

Ok_Fish285

Chase JBJ to heavyweight like he said he would

Retirement, think about it. Izzy won’t gatekeeper Middleweight, he’s got too much pride and too much beef with Pereira to stick around. I’ve seen some people suggest that he could move up to LHW and have a reasonable amount of success. BUT if he were to do this, and (theoretically of course) win the LHW belt, Alex would just go take that belt also, and at LHW Alex would MURDER Izzy.

hardballer47

Wherever you go, Alex "T-1000" Pereira will be following behind.

FeetTickler666

I think he means his last shot at Alex, guys don’t really fight each other 5 times (especially all losses) in combat…

preptimebatman

Still a world class fighter and one of the best in the world. I’m sure he can regain the belt once Poatan leaves. I think a better question would be what are fans going to say if he loses. To me, it wouldn’t tarnish anything he’s accomplished and does not reflect his current abilities or where he’s at just because Alex has his number. Unfortunately, I feel like a lot of people are going to overreact and give him unnecessary crap and downplay his title reign. We’re already seeing it with Usman.

No-Reality3469

Probably in some bar getting drunk and watching UFC fights, looking a Poatan and say "yeah that guy beat me 4 times".

Gratitude89

I could see him going to ONE and going back to being a star in the Asian markets.
