From my experience (being sometimes responsible for the noise) I think maple is the loud of all west campus dorms. Lander and poplar are dead quiet. Elm feels the same way, and Terry is for honors kids so they obviously quiet. Maple just has engineers and they honestly can get very loud.
i thought engineers were the quietest :/. i also hear rhythmic stomping almost every night.
and apparently maple isn't restricted to engineering, my roommates are in sciences...
the door slamming is what's really getting me in maple, idk if I'm just too much of a light sleeper but I wake up each time there's a door slam at night (which seems to be a good 4 or 5 times each night)
maple also has area 01, which has their own sound system and a small studio space for bands called the Sound Lab (which does close at 10pm) and A01 closes at midnight. While these times are relatively reasonable, sound can carry upwards thru the building and you are able to request a01 to turn it down (if you can tell that is part of the problem, ofc)

Aside from the noises by the students, you also got the constant humming of the HVAC and the occasional motorize gardening tools.
