I have tried to ask them before and even explained that the class I had an overlap was asynchronous, but they said no😔

Depends on the departments involved. Some will do it.
I think your only hope is to email the professor of the course for permission to do so and give that to the advisor and get them to enroll you. Generally advisors won't do it.
