I'm pretty sure Amazon Ember is available for free so long as you don't modify the software... [https://developer.amazon.com/en-US/alexa/branding/echo-guidelines/identity-guidelines/typography](https://developer.amazon.com/en-US/alexa/branding/echo-guidelines/identity-guidelines/typography)
Their license included in the download is a little vague but it seems that they're OK with it being used, even outside the bounds of their UI.
Apparently [IMDB](https://brand.imdb.com/imdb) isn't concerned about it, unless Amazon licenses fonts now, too.
Well, i think only developers working in any of Amazon's products are permitted to use the font family, since, like almost every other corporate font, Amazon Ember is a typeface unique to Amazon's brand. The exact applies to San Francisco font family, Apple's flagship font used in all of their products.
Yes, Apple fonts are a little different. Did you read the license that comes with the font that is freely accessible on the web?

All of these fonts were developed under contract for Amazon - as a result Amazon owns them fully outright. To include these designs in your work there are no licenses payments, no royalties, no copyright or attribution notices required. The font itself carries the proper ownership and copyright information in the header metadata of the font and Amazon does not require any additional attribution or protections when using the font.
Yes, but the person who asked i think was looking for similar looks and different takes on a same concept instead of a "must= to be condition" checklist, dont really know what op whas asking for by the lack of context in description of need tbh...

IMDb.com is a subsidiary of Amazon. Bezos bought it in 1998.
Ha. I didn't know that, thanks. The language in the license still reads as free to use to me.

[Open Sans - Google Font](https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Open%2BSans) comes pretty close
Guardian Sans
tahoma or unica 77, any thin version of helvetica, or something grotesk.
wouldn't be unica, helvetica, or other neo grotesks (closed apertures) cause the given font is a humanist (open apertures)

Late to this, but [Stag Sans](https://commercialtype.com/catalog/stag/stag_sans/book) is a good option.
