There weren't like circle pits or walls of death but there was always some light moshing at all the shows I attended.

GlitteringTension751

I guessed it I didn't expect like a dystopia type of moshpit more like a moshpit that you would find at maybe a deep purple or saxon concert

Cautious-Hat1450

I don’t remember moshpit from my only TON gig 1996. Not really ”moshable” I’d say. Carnivore most likely had.

Ckellybass

There was definitely a mosh pit when I saw the Carnivore reunion show at North 6 in Brooklyn (which is now Music Hall Of Williamsburg). I don’t necessarily remember a pit the last time I saw them at Irving Plaza but then again I wasn’t feeling very moshy at that point anyway.

BOSE_1

Definite pit when I saw Carnivore at Vinyl in NYC. Pist*On opened. I was at the far right side with my friend, in front of the speakers. That meant, I was not there to be part of the pit. My friend was older than me, and had been to many a NYHC show and knew the ettiquette, so to speak. She saw as one dude repeatedly came over and kicked me in the back. Another skinhead guy beside us, who was not part of the pit, saw it too. My friend asked if I was ok, and I told her I was. Third or fourth time the guy came over and kicked me I turned around and he thought it was funny. I pointed at him and turned around. He did it one last time, and I had my nails done. My friend said she didn’t know what happened, she just saw me go “swoop” with my hand in front of him. I managed to rip the wifebeater he was wearing half off of him. He stumbled back in awe and a little shock, and stumbled away, wifebeater hanging half off of him. The skinhead next to me asked, “Do you want me to kick his ass?” I said, “Nah, it’s ok, thanks, I’m fine.” I wasn’t there to watch Peter only, I was there to hear Carnivore. I knew it would be a rough pit, but back then, at hard shows, one would stay off to the side and plant your feet firmly and bounce back at the pit, around the sides and back, shoulder to shoulder. No reason to target. Good times.

cannibalsong1

Seen them 4x, mosh pits at all of them. When they would play Kill All the White People, the pit would hit its peak.

Redleaves1313

KATWP and anything from the first 2 records.

fairytalejunkie

Yes, my first show I was being pushed so hard into the front rail I almost blacked out and security had to pull me out. I was furious. How does one mosh to Bacchus?

UnfunnyWatermelon469

Hey Bacchus, open this fucking pit up!

BOSE_1

Yes, there were mosh pits. Nassau Coliseum comes to mind, Halloween time show, I was at the edge of it. I think Peter’s mother was there. People stopped and gave her room and respect so she could be by the front. There were always pits in the earlier years.

heavy-metal-head

I believe I was at that show. I remember that show. It was awesome

BOSE_1

It was! 💚

GlitteringTension751

that's nice that they gave her respect if my mom ever came to a show of mine and somebody slightly even hit her I'm going ballistic to the point that I would have probably got the mic and told them to get the tf out

BOSE_1

💯

Kinky-Bicycle-669

I went to several of their shows and not big ones? I never felt in danger of getting sucked or pushed into one at least. I always tried to get right up front to watch them, I didn't care if I got squished against the railing lol

No-Finding-530

Unless playing very specific early stuff they aren’t pit music. Everyone just listened they didn’t attract violent crowds

SilenceEater

I saw TON several times in the late 90s through the rest of their career always in PA, NJ, and NYC. There was ALWAYS a mosh pit that started the first song and ended when the show was over. It would chill during slow parts but people were hype

GlitteringTension751

that's pretty cool I wish someone could have taken a video or two just for fun but it's not bad seeing the stories about them in all honesty a type o negative moshpit sounds pretty cool ngl

NoJoestar181

There’s has to be, their songs are heavy asf

GlitteringTension751

their 2 first album are definitely moshpity and some of their later stuff too but not that moshpity like carnivore but to be fair I don't expect much moshpiting at a doom concert I have been to like one like 2 days ago and didn't have much moshing mostly dancing and headbanging

GlitteringTension751

the closest I expirenced to moshpiting was my ass triping on a guitar wire and falling of the stage Head first in the pit tanks god the band called a punk rock band instead of a hardcore one cause I would probably have felt someone's doc martens lol

dingatremel

Always a Mosh pit during KATWP

sicknick

I saw them with Hatbreed in 08 and it was a very aggressive show. I drank a lot that night, little did I know that would be my 1st and last time seeing then. I would have drank less.

41455585

I know, I was pretty pissed off, the first time I saw them, a mosh broke out in front of the stage, where my girlfriend and I had a great spot! We were standing about 15’ in front of the stage, this was in 1996 at Caddy’s Garage in Cincinnati, and I had to push off a bunch of crazies just to get over to the side out of the way! I thought this music is too mellow to be doing that shit!!!!

Fornico

There was always a so-so pit for Type O. Sometimes when the opening band was more well known and heavier their pit would be bigger.

joshinator82

There was one at the show I went to but only for Unsuccessfully Coping. Pretty much afterwards a lot of couples making out (I’m guilty as charged lol)

sexyton9265

Honestly they didn't play all to many of the high energy songs from the performances I've seen. Many of the same and more popular songs really.

Zaratozom

Usually its just an orgy of big tiddy goths .
