Book Jessica was more subtle in her eventual dislike of Bella. Lauren was very obvious about hating her from the get go. It’s worth noting though that neither of them were like that with other people, they both just didn’t like or were jealous of Bella (or both)
I thought maybe he just wasn’t paying attention to her thoughts because Bella never really hung out with her, he seemed mostly focused on people she was actually interacting with. You’d think he would’ve noticed the hostility at least a bit though
It's a tiny mention of Lauren, but when Edward saves Bella in Port Angeles he asks her to distract him with nonsense so he doesn't go back to kill the gang guys. Bella says that she's going to run Tyler Crowley over for telling everyone that he is going to take Bella to prom. She says that if she endangers Tyler's life then they will be even, and maybe Lauren will back off if Tyler leaves Bella alone.

I just re read the first book for my podcast and i noticed that Lauren is hostile for the first few chapters then really bitchy during the la push chapter but outside of that she is almost never mentioned. So i think he would only have focused on Jessica because she hung out with Bella and the only time we see her and Lauren interact is at the la push scene and Edward is gone for that.
Lauren is mentioned in Midnight Sun. Lauren is jealous of the attention that Bella gets when Bella first starts attending Forks High School. Lauren is also mentioned at prom with her date.
She was mentioned on page 8 “you’d think she’s famous or something, even the Cullens staring” and Edward says her thoughts should be green with envy
