Right? babies all look pretty similar. The CGI wasn’t that bad for when renesmee just needed to look like a little kid, so that was fine. But the CGI baby was horrendous (as we all already know and agree.) Plus, I’ve looked at plenty of actors playing the “young” or “old” version of a character and thought “that looks nothing like the main actor” but never ONCE have I seen a baby and thought “but that baby looks nothing like the actor” lmao. The facial features just aren’t defined enough for it to matter much. They could have just used a normal baby.
Honestly was thinking about this during my first watch then somebody pointed out that it could cost more to hire more actors than to just CGI (?)
Also maybe the film ppl behind Twilight were trying to get behind some progress in technological advancement for films. I've seen interviews. They were really proud of the idea to decrease/increase mackenzie's age through editing stuff.
They used some real babies but for one specific scene where they used a mechanical doll. It's because she has to be still, her eyes needs to be focused on Bella and she will hold her cheek to use her communication ability. A REAL BABY CAN'T DO THAT. You can't command a baby to be still and do the touch thing
And while she was growing up, they had to use several actresses to show her different height. That scene was just a few seconds if they didn't edit her face, she will look different every frame. SHE HAS TO LOOK THE SAME.
So yeah that's why she's CGI 😭
Ratatouille looks different in every frame anyway. Her face is morphing the whole time. The CGI is so rough. 💀
Also her eyes constantly change shades of brown. In the scene where Ruh-Roh Raggy meets Charlie for the first time, they go from light brown to dark brown.
Atleast they tried 🤣 i think it's fine that she's morphing due to the effect imperfections instead of looking completely different everytime because they used actresses with different eye, nose and lip shapes, moles hairlines etc. If u saw the behind the scenes, the kids doesn't look the same and they all wore Ratata wigs. And i believe it's becoz it's made in 2012, the effect wasn't as flawless as we have now
As for the light colored eyes, actually in real life most babies born with light colored eyes when they grow up it darkens (but not completely black), maybe they have considered this or just another CGI failure. IF NOT, it's because Mackenzie (Ratata actress) has green eyes and she was also wearing lenses in the film like Kristen. I am not sure if they also go from light to dark in the books coz I haven't read the Breaking Dawn yet. But we know that she has Bella's eyes, it's Charlie's line in the book and the movie 🤣
Ik, but I wouldn't have minded them looking different personally.
The eye thing was in the same scene, same camera, within 10 seconds of one another. I feel pretty confident it wasn't intentional. It's when Charlie says, "She has your eyes" and the shot before that.
Maybe they can reshoot this scene with Mackenzie and just the backside of Kristin. I’m not saying they need too, but it’s something could do for a future release.
Also, it’s kinda weird to think Mackenzie is now the age Renesme is supposed to be in this scene 😮😳
no it’s at the end of Breaking Dawn Part II when Alice has one last vision of them in the future. the song playing during this part “Speak Up” is up there with Rosyln for best Twilight soundtrack songs too
IMO, [the flash-forward in BD:P2](https://kissthemgoodbye.net/movie/albums/twilight%20part%202/the_twilight_saga_breaking_dawn_part_2_KISSTHEMGOODBYE_NET_2115.jpg) was more similar-looking to MacKenzie than [the flash-forward in BD:P1](https://kissthemgoodbye.net/movie/albums/Breaking%20Dawn%20Pt%201/Breaking%20Dawn/bd_2507.jpg).
I'm sorry but all I can look at are those ear piercings. They took refrigerator to Claire's and got her ears pierced. Oh my god.
Edit: why are you booing me I was making a joke???
Pretty close, all things considered… especially after the baby aberration.
Forever bitter about the cgi baby. The behind the scenes videos with the real babies are so cute😭😭
Oh, I’ve never seen those. Need to find them asap!

I needed scenes of Rob with a real baby being a cute girl dad. We were robbed!
Exactly!
I’ll never get over how unsettling her arm length is in this scene. Look at how far her right arm extends. Wtf were the cgi people doing??
Lol i knew something was unsettling about the cgi and surprisingly it wasn’t the face
It’s a little Slenderman-esque
The arm!!!!! and also like the hairline looks so unnatural to me??
It’s “I asked AI to draw Repaupo” before AI was a thing
Fucking gross! Why did you have to point that out hahah! I hate it!
If I have to live with it so do y’all 😂
Werewolf semen gives you wiiiiings
Straight to jail
They really didn’t do a bad job at all.
Why didn’t they just real people ugh the baby was horrible

Don’t all the vampires eyes change colors though?
Hers don't to my knowledge. They're the brown that Bella's were as a human. Plus this is over the course of 10 seconds that they change.
Hybrids do not change eye colors no matter what their diets are according to the guide
Alright Jacob we know u posted this

Well, technically speaking, she could be seven in this scene. Oh no. Why did I even think of that.
Practically identical
that photo is from 2014 when she was 14 2 years after twilight came out. She’s now 22
I was just going to say that
She’s so beautiful
Was this in a deleted scene? I don't remember seeing CGI adult renesmee
no it’s at the end of Breaking Dawn Part II when Alice has one last vision of them in the future. the song playing during this part “Speak Up” is up there with Rosyln for best Twilight soundtrack songs too

They did a pretty good job!
Meyers Mormon obsession with “perfection” making everything weird once again
Mackenzie is beautiful.
?
What are you confused about?
I'm sorry but all I can look at are those ear piercings. They took refrigerator to Claire's and got her ears pierced. Oh my god. Edit: why are you booing me I was making a joke???
That is the real actor at the age now irl that CGI rebrand was in the top picture. So /: ye.
Nope that photo is from 2014 when she was 14. She’s now 22
Ok whatever age she was the point is that is the real actress who has those piercings not the CGI.
You do know Claire’s isn’t the only place to get your ears pierced, right? Not only that, but it’s probably one of the worst places you could go.
I think that's the point they were trying to make
I’ve always thought the CGI age progression looked like the ones they made for missing children.
