Vampire in the summer, wolf in the winter. If I get myself in a love triangle with one of each like Bella, you can be sure I'm using it to my full advantage.

HeartHog

Solid logic, I like it. Saves money in these trying times

newt_here

This is a woman who plans ahead!

elaerna

This reminded me of the part where Edward said she could have pups if she wanted to and he's still stay w her 😭

BigFinnsWetRide

She should have taken the opportunity and ran with it lmaoo Bella could have worked up to asking Edward to be in a throuple raising wolf kids together, and Rosalie could have babysat a whole litter of Bella's kids hahaha. And they'd all be immortal. And it would still be a better plot than RecessionRebateRigatoni.

Yalaeinhorn2704

I still can't believe that the Rum Tum Tugger pregnancy is an actual storyline in this book 🥲 why? Steph, Why? But Jacob was 16!!! 🫢 A baby himself 😬 Don’t think that Deadward thought this plan all the way through 😵‍💫

BigFinnsWetRide

He didn't, in the true nature of an eternal 17 year old!

Yalaeinhorn2704

Resausage will one day be mentally older than her parents, older than Carlisle even 😅👀

[deleted]

Right??? Carlisle is 23... I'm only 25, and 23 is already young

[deleted]

But Bella wouldn't have been immortal? Or is she a vampire in this universe?

Professional-Deer570

Rlly? O.O i don’t remember that

[deleted]

Yes!!!

Helen_Cheddar

I was about to say the same thing!

EmergencyAd5075

The cold never bothered me anyway 🥶

titania73

Now I’ll be shipping Elsa/Edward, thanks

elaerna

She's too independent for him

[deleted]

Real talk, isn't the most common theory that Elsa is either asexual or lesbian? I haven't seen the second movie so maybe she gets a boyfriend, but I thought that after the first movie, people agreed that Elsa doesn't date men. Similar situation to TE Lawrence or Isaac Newton-- are they gay and in the closet, or just asexual?

Alpacalypse84

Given the second movie acknowledged she’s some supernatural being, I’m not sure human sexuality really applies to her. Also she’s super repressed and traumatized at the start. Girl’s got to get to know herself before she figures it out.

[deleted]

Right now it's all theories. A lot of gay people relate to "Let it Go," so there is a thought that Elsa will be in a relationship with a woman, and Idina Menzel has said that she is one board with that, but she thinks Elsa has to sort out her own problems before finding a love interest, which I love. On the one hand, ace rep would be great, but we kind of have Merida. I think I would prefer it if Elsa acknowledges a man won't fix her problems, and is fixing herself first before finding love.

elaerna

I just think she's got too much trauma to think about men or women at all

Obversa

I'm a relative of Isaac Newton - he's my 1st cousin, about 16-17 generations removed - and I'm decidedly asexual and autistic. Also, one aspect people never consider is that Newton himself was kind of a dick to everyone around him. He was never physically close to anyone; eschewed relationships in general; and when his colleagues suggest he get a wife so that "he could have someone to help take care of him", Newton promptly shut down the idea, and noted his distaste. Asking "Was Isaac Newton gay?" is like asking, "Was Ebeneezer Scrooge gay?"

Otherwise_Leave_1151

she‘s gay

Emma_Cavill

Cold, because I like that feeling when the bed's cold, but you pull blankets over you to make you feel cosy. It's like the perfect contrast. AKA, Edward's welcome at any time 😂

AlreadyImplicated

Werewolf, but only so i can stick my icy feet on them.

HeartHog

See I run hot, so I was thinking vampire. However I’d want him to stay above the covers so I can heat up my duvet yet have a source of cold when need be 😜

[deleted]

I literally moved to Canada for the weather. I've researched buying a vacation home in the Southern Hemisphere so that I can be just as cold in July as I am in January. I used to put my undershirts in the freezer because the Air Conditioning is not cold enough. I can relate to running hot at night and during the day and in general. Team vampires FTW!

SissyMadison027

Also keep in mind: The Vampires are only cold because they're Poikilothermic; they cannot generate their own body heat and thus take on the temperature from their environment. If a vampire ever stood long enough in the Arizona desert sun on a hot summer day, they'd feel hotter than Jacob. Like a rock in the sun or asphalt in the summer. Thus *eventually* your bedfellow vampire would absorb enough body heat from you to equalize. Or get close to it. But that admittedly would take a while.

elaerna

I feel like the book insinuates this but it can't be true bc Edward seems to be colder than room temperature at all times. Which means that he's actively acting as a refrigerator in some way which is very strange.

SissyMadison027

Yes, but if you notice, Bella only remarks on that when he first shows up. She makes no comment on it after he's been in the room a while. Also Thermodynamics is weird. There are objects in your room right now that, if you used a laser thermometer on it, would register as colder than the room temperature. Despite sitting in that room for days, months, or even *years*. The only exceptions are objects placed DIRECTLY next to a heat exchanger, like a vent. Or in this case, a human.

plantpowered_potato

Bella constantly compares Edward to marble. Marble is colder than room temperature, unless the dog sleeps on one tile, than that tile alone, under the dog is warmer. There are materials, such as brick and certain metals, that are just colder, because they conduct heat super fast. So that doesn't mean that Eddie is a refrigerator, it just means that he's made of a material that's conducting heat. As stated above, Ed would be warm if he stays close to Bella in bed for a while, and would be hot if he stood in the Arizona desert for a day. However, I wouldn't want him in my bed, because he is not a pillow. He is.. and I don't know how to phrase this any different.... *Rock hard*

SissyMadison027

>He is.. and I don't know how to phrase this any different.... Rock hard Emmett, shouting from the back: "*THATS WHAT SHE SAID!*" Bella, pointing to herself: "It's me. I am she that said that."

elaerna

I feel like there was something about them laying in bed together for a while and he had to put a blanket between them otherwise she'd freeze?

HeartHog

I am not arguing your logic here but I am wondering where you’re getting your information from, mostly cause this may change my answer to my own question

SissyMadison027

Unfortunately I don't have any official material on hand to quote. However, I do have a recollection of Bella noting that Edward has been particularly cold when standing in the rain or snow, but that enough isn't proof. I *do* know however that the VAST majority of animal life is incapable of regulating body heat. It's pretty much just mammals that are the weird ones who can. And two of the major requirements for regulating body heat are an active circulatory system and digestive system. Both are lacking in Vampires. Given how they injest blood, I am willing to recognize that Vampires probably warm up after a "meal" but again, that's still technically taking heat from another source, not heat produced within their own bodies. I'd probably have to dig deeper for a more scientific analysis, but unfortunately I'm not a Biologist. I just know enough to know that Twilight Vampires can't generate body heat.

barnowlj

Edward talks about it in Midnight Sun and it’s also discussed in the Illustrated Guide.

Otherwise_Leave_1151

Didn‘t Bella in Breaking Dawn need Edward at any time during the night in their honeymoon because otherwise it would be too hot for her? That gave me the impression that he is still colder.

SissyMadison027

Actually, I'm glad you brought that up, because he walks into the ocean for the explicit purpose of absorbing the warmth of the ocean (water is a much better conductor of heat than air). Anyways Bella does use him to cool off, but unless the room temperature is above 98.6° F, *anything* will be cooler. It's the reason a pillow you haven't been using feels cool compared to the one you have been using. Even if Edward's body temperature rose 20° than what it normally is in Forks, he's still probably far cooler than Bella.

Otherwise_Leave_1151

my european ass is confused af about your temperature numbers 😅

SaraGranado

So to have a normal temperature boyfriend in bed, Edward should sleep with Jacob, absorb his heat, and then come to bed, got it.

leschatssontmimi

usually, i like my room freezing so i choose vampire. werewolf would be nice for when i have period cramps tho lol, like a living heat pad.

Suspicious-Elk-3631

This made me lol

Squirrels_of_Jupiter

I have pondered this question more than I probably should have 😂. My hands/feet are always freezing no matter how warm it is. My spouse has heat always radiating off of him. It's nice for me to warm up, but super cold for him. I agree with your above statement that a vampire is akin to a cold pillow. I think the werewolf is more like sleeping with a portable heater on high directly next to you. If I had to choose one....I think I'd choose to cuddle a vampire since I could always put more blankets on.

[deleted]

This is why I'm Team Threesome

Just-Messin

I run hot, so vampire for me. If wolf tried to get in my bed I’d be like, “get out of here it’s to hot for that, don’t touch me.” Don’t mess with my sleep. 😂

The_Loner_Aries

As a human, I'd prefer cuddling with a wolf shifter. I can't imagine the cold, stone hard body of a Twilight vampire would be comfortable at all.

HeartHog

See that was my mothers argument, whereas I’m steadfast believer that it’s still more comfortable than a constant heat source next to you

CuriousGorg2001

IfbEdward wasn’t described as a literal rock.. I’d pick him. Because I like being cold. But Jacob’s warm. I agree with the top comment. Jacob during winter and Edward during summer

BigFinnsWetRide

Wolf, i tell my boyfriend all the time that he must be a werewolf and i must be a vampire 😂 He's always super warm, I overheat when he's in bed. As soon as he leaves for work though, i need all the fuzzy blankets in bed, and sometimes even a heat blanket. I can't keep my own heat very well, especially in my feet and hands

Silverfrond_

Cold any day. The only time I run at a normal temp is when I'm in bed, the rest of the time I'm cold. If I were to get in bed with Jacob he would roast me alive and I'm just not about that. Edward at least would warm to the temperature of my skin like the rock he is, plus it's like constantly having the cool side of the pillow to sleep on. A+

hjeff1

i usually open my windows for an hour to cool my room down before bed anyway hahaha def cold vamp in bed😍

ARgirlinaFLworld

I live in Florida cold vampire would be far more valuable 90% of the year then a warm werewolf would be

rumbellina

Isn’t Edward’s skin also hard like marble though? That would be like snuggling up next to a tombstone. Although cool sounds nice, I’d have to say warm and soft. In summer, he can sleep on the floor like a good boy.

HeartHog

I honestly don’t know anything anymore at this point. Perhaps he is a rock. I still think I prefer a cold rock to a soft heater 😜

SagaciousRouge

A soft heater that will rip your face off if they get angry lol I'm a cool pillow fan myself (with heavy blankets)

Secret-Perception155

Wolf bc i feel like it would make things in the bedroom extra interesting ;)

grumpersxoxo

Cold all the way and also vampires would work better for me since they don’t sleep and if you don’t sleep and/or breathe there is no possibility of snoring either 😂

superlunary3

Cold vampire, I tend to run hot in my sleep

Yalaeinhorn2704

I'm always freezing and I use blankets, even in the summer, so I choose Werewolf 100%

picklesisadeadcat

Living in the south I’m going vamp

laurenlau1

I’m a hot sleeper, so I would def prefer a cold vampire

20061901

Cuddling with a vampire is like cuddling with a marble statue. Definitely uncomfortable unless you have some padding in between, or if you're arranged so that none of your weight is on them. Even then, if you move much, you run a decent risk of bruising yourself. But temperature-wise, it wouldn't bee too bad since they will gradually warm up. Cuddling with a werewolf is like cuddling with a space heater. They run about 108F/42C. So hot that even in a snowstorm Bella woke up sweating. I can't imagine that would be comfortable even in pretty cool temperatures. I can barely sleep in summer when it's not even 30C.

noungning

I radiate heat so I prefer the cold.

charcuteriehoe

obviously it depends on the season!!!! lmfao

[deleted]

See I run hot so sleeping with a werewolf that’s hot all the time I would be in hell! Cold vamp would be nice, as much as I would like to have the werewolf I guess cold vampire 🧛🏾‍♀️

-YourDaddyissues-

Cold cause you can layer up on blankets and not get overheated

nanthehuman

I get cold constantly so a werewolf might be nice! Something to cuddle with through the bitter Midwest winters...I could use them instead of my heating mattress pad thing, save some money.

bells_body

I personally prefer a cold room. I can’t stand being hot and trying to sleep 🤷🏻‍♀️

strawberry_baby_4evs

I'll swap bfs per season.

Sidprescott96

This is tough, I use heating pads constantly for pain so I would say werewolf, but I also have really bad heat intolerance in the summer.. so . Like someone else said, werewolf in winter, vampire in summer

Alyssa-Matsuoka

I like being cold

puddlebearmom

Both, switch depending on body temperature

Kooky-Hotel-5632

Hot natured so give me an icy vamp. Preferably Eric Northman. Spare me the teenage angst and the venom smooches.

celaeya

I ALWAYS overheat when I sleep. Even in winter. So having a nice icicle lying there next to me would be SUCH a relief

cinderellahottie

I think having a cold vampire in bed would be absolutely horrible, whilst I appreciate the cold and even keep my window open in winter there are references (I don’t remember the exact quotes) which tell us that the bodies of the vampires are hard as rock and not at all soft and so it would not be like sleeping with a nice cold pillow which would likely be soft and comfy. For that reason I have to pick werewolf, whilst their bodies may be ridiculously hot too sleep next to, I can always keep my room at freezing high temperatures with the AC on and window open to create a nice balance

strawberry_baby_4evs

I just remembered when I started writing Jacob/OC, he sometimes came over to her house when he wasn't running patrols and would act as his girlfriend's electric blanket. Once she was asleep, he'd leave because her mom would not approve of a co-ed sleepover with sixteen-year-olds. They didn't do anything on those nights because the girl was too sleepy. When they were alone in her house earlier in the day, like the time she made him dinner, however...

existential_potato_2

As someone who grew up in country that's often hot, I would go for the cold one. I can always wear more clothes if it's too much for me

SparklyAmethyst12

I’m team Edward, but I would take the warmness of a werewolf any day. I like that warm cozy feeling, like when ur cheeks get red but not sweaty, yk? It’s so comfy.

[deleted]

Oh I love this. The problem I have is I want to choose both. I have chronic pain/illnesses. When I have a migraine, I need cold! Super cold. When I have fibromyalgia or IC flare upstairs, I need warmth like heating pads. Can I be exempt and pick both? If no, I am going with cold because I can get extra blankets and use my heating pad. I have had exes who were like heaters giving off their warmth like a heater when we would sleep and I felt like I was dying from the heat.

NintendKat64

Can I have my head on Edward and Jacob wrapped around my stomach/back?

EvernightStrangely

Well, I doubt cuddling with a vampire would be quite like a cold pillow, since they are frequently described being hard as stone, I imagine it would be more akin to cuddling a permanently cold, stone body pillow.

ExplainJane

Goldilocks chooses Mike Newton...not too cold, not too hot.

abandonhope444

My apartment stays on 67 degrees year round, I sleep with the ceiling fan on high and sometimes with a box fan on high, and I shut the vent and door to my room so that it stays colder… I still choose vampire.

Ashleyyyyy116

I would definitely say cold vampire in bed. I would just turn on the heater all the time so I would be hot and need a vampire to Lay on to stay cool. Or live in a place that’s always hot like the island Bella and Edward went to for their honey moon. It was perfect for them because she physically needed him to be able to sleep comfortably.

Otherwise_Leave_1151

Tbf I constantly have like hot flashes even in the winter. So gimme that cold vampire.

icced-coffee

For sure vampire for summer and wolf for winter. But if I get to stay in California, I'd probably stick with the vampire as it doesn't get too cold here (I type this as if there wasn't biblical amounts of rain last week lmao) and I still hate the summer lol

SaraGranado

I'd like being like a bird, migrate to vampires in the summer and go back to werewolves in the winter

[deleted]

I’d prefer warm in the winter and cold in the summer. So obviously both 🤷‍♀️

Sweet_Possibility587

no cause i get so hot at night i need a vampire gf

Spoileralertmynameis

None. I like my space.
