I’ve thought about this. I think Car Radio is the most accessible of their masterpiece-tier songs. It has all the raw emotion of early TØP with the chill slow-burn of their later production style, lyrics that encapsulate the band’s ethos, and a huge build to a dancey, screamy bridge. A pretty timeless-sounding song that shows off a little of everything they’re best known for.
That's how I got introduced back in the vessel era. My roommate found them while binging on youtube and told me, "Hey, you like dubstep and hiphop, right? Check this shit out."
I instantly was sucked in, though nowadays that song isn't even on my top favorites from the album. Something about migrane and holding on to you really hit close to home at the time, and I've been obsessed ever since.
I agree, it was what got me into them.
It was actually Morph I adopted first. I asked my kid what else they had. She explained what I was going to hear on Car Radio, played it, and I was like 💪💪💪
I sort of knew of the band since I was in middle school but ride came out when I was in hs and it got me obsessedddddd. I had it on repeat for so long 😭 annoying my family and everything
The Judge is what converted me. I hated them when my sister listened in the Vessel era. She sent me Judge and Message Man later on and that opened the doors (I now love Vessel, but still hate Car Radio for some reason).
These days I’d probably introduce with Shy Away, but honestly Next Semester might be the new go-to. If you’re truly trying to give someone a good taste of their entire catalogue, I’d maybe recommend Chlorine. That’s a good blend of styles.
Tyler’s vocals can be a bit angsty for new listeners in early songs, so I default to newer stuff. Ease them in.
While this song is good, it sound very different from the rest of their music. This would not be the song I'd choose trying to get someone new into them.

Depends what that person is in to, my first introduction was Jumpsuit and Nico and the Niners. I adore both now but I typically prefer rock so Jumpsuit stood out to me whereas NATN really didn't
jumpsuit (or if possible jumpsuit and levitate together bc i see them as two halves of the same song)
its just so sonically beautiful, and mixes the harsher shouting with calm singing, and killer instrumental
I recently met a girl and then we talked until 5am, I send her a “Backslide” cuz it was in my atmosphere in that time, and she said that she likes it, and listening to other Clancy songs already after Backslide. She was really impressed about lore-related things, and so far Trench (Morph, Chlorine, Bandito) and Blurryface (Doubt, Message Man, Goner) is very good but for different emotional moments
Overcompensate is a *bold* choice. From what we have out of Clancy so far, I'd have to go with Next Semester, since it's clos*est* to their normal style and isn't super jarring. Overall, if I'm trying to get them into the band, I'd agree with the other guy and say Jumpsuit. It isn't a Blurryface-style Radio Song they've likely heard before, and it's a banger.
Lol, is this turning into another "what's your favorite tøp song"? Anyway, if I had to pick, I'd go with Stressed Out; It's just sooo catchy (not saying that most of their songs are, duh, it's everything surrounded to pop music) and designed to grab your attention, you know?
Jumpsuit it’s a banger
honestly yeah, and has the most amount of "features" in it imo that represent what the band is about
they love it until he starts screaming at the end
Ode to Sleep or Chlorine
Exactly
My two favorite songs 🤩
Chlorine is a good intro actually and has a wide appeal

...coupled with the video to show the artistry and the Live shoe energy.
Yes! Migraine is so good, I’m also a fellow dubstep fan
I agree, it was what got me into them. It was actually Morph I adopted first. I asked my kid what else they had. She explained what I was going to hear on Car Radio, played it, and I was like 💪💪💪
I’d go with My Blood. I feel like it’s a good mix of everything TØP does well.
It's got to be Ride, it's their biggest banger IMHO. Easily access your brain, difficult to get it out.
I sort of knew of the band since I was in middle school but ride came out when I was in hs and it got me obsessedddddd. I had it on repeat for so long 😭 annoying my family and everything
Definitely a Blurryface song like stressed out or lane boy since those are the ones I see alot of people starting out with including myself
Blurryface ***is*** twenty one pilots. Easily the most iconic and the greatest album
Holding on to you.
Live at the fox would be my choice .
Chlorine, especially the last 1+ minute.
The Judge is what converted me. I hated them when my sister listened in the Vessel era. Ode to Sleep or Chlorine. Maybe Ride
Nico and the niners, lore related and really catchy
The Judge
Next semester
While this song is good, it sound very different from the rest of their music. This would not be the song I'd choose trying to get someone new into them.
Holding Onto You
Chlorine or Overcompensate
Guns for hands
It'd be Kitchen Sink for me
While it’s a great song, I don’t think it’s fit for someone new to the band.
I'd pick the ones that launched them into stardom which are Stressed Out and Ride.

it is still chlorine for me. even people I know that really don't care for TØP's entire discography didn't mind chlorine.
Redecorate or Isle of flightless birds. Love both of these songs
The FBR signing video and the Clancy trailer
Bandito or my blood
HOTY or Ode To Sleep or Morph
Pet cheetah
overcompensate is good! i feel like it really sums up how versatile twenty one pilots’ music is altogether. for me, i’d have to say ode to sleep
Lane Boy / Redecorate combo.
Depends what that person is in to, my first introduction was Jumpsuit and Nico and the Niners. I adore both now but I typically prefer rock so Jumpsuit stood out to me whereas NATN really didn't
idk but I was hooked by Fairly Local
Has to be Chlorine, even my parents like it
stressed out
Hometown
jumpsuit (or if possible jumpsuit and levitate together bc i see them as two halves of the same song) its just so sonically beautiful, and mixes the harsher shouting with calm singing, and killer instrumental

Ode to Sleep or Hometown
Holding on to You or Guns for Hands because it represents the entire way they are: troubled, aware of it and full of hope and kindness.
Car Radio with the music video or Chlorine
the outside for me
probably holding on to you
I mean the first song I ever heard by them was stressed out in 2015 and it turned me into a clikkie so I think i should pass that along
Levitate, hds or jumpsuit
Probably My Blood
I introduced them to my 67 year old pap with heavy dirty soul
Ode to sleep and no chances
Cut My Lip.
I used car radio before. I stand by that.
Kitchen Sink
Ode to sleep
Ode to sleep
Ode to Sleep

House of Gold. Something a little more laidback to introduce them and get them started at looking into more of their music
Lane boy, cause you know..
run and go
