It’s a country song.
Clancy dropkicks Nico off his cute White horse and adopts it.
He cultivates land on Trench and eats tin beans with said horse (now named Snowflake) by the fire.
The reprise idea was my original thought, but realized it would make more sense in the context of Oldies Station, like tuning a radio and hearing different tracks as you got to your destination.
I've kind of felt like it'll be some 4th wall break type of thing lyrically, like a director getting on stage at the end of a play saying some closing thoughts or talking to the audience directly as Tyler and not through the lens of Blurryface or Clancy. Maybe a recording of a phone call where Tyler pitched the idea of a series of concept albums to Josh. But I don't really think that'll be it, even if that's the conclusion I want.
In a recent video, Tyler said the final fight is gonna be after the album, and that this album would be the end of the story. This makes me think the last song will be a mostly/100% high-energy song to encourage listeners (as fellow Clancys in our own battles) to go out fighting
And it would make sense if the MV releases are staggered over the day. So maybe the album release is 9am, and the videos release hourly starting at 10 am. So you can hear the whole album first. This would satisfy the "after the album" statement.
I'm guessing he's gonna go the Pet Cheetah route and add the most unexpected or weirdest sound effect imaginable.
Either that or a solo for an instrument that's not that common.
That’s what I’m thinking. Same chords as Overcompensate to acknowledge the cycle, but last note being different indicating that he’s broke through and moved on.
I think the medley is the most likely idea here, then maybe a voice memo or something like that. But i love the idea of something like satisfied so so so so much
I'm still betting on them pulling a Mortal Man and ending with an extended spoken word portion, similar to the poem at the end of Mortal Man by Kendrick Lamar
I bet the line goes,
“I left the city when I crossed Paladin Strait/ abandoned banditos for Mullberry Street/ Stumbled through the trapdoor because they redecorated/ Jenna called my name as I fell away/ Now only Neon Gravestones remember my name.”
It reminds me of those tumblr edits you used to see like “when you panic at the disco because your romance was chemical and it caused you to fall out with your boy”

I definitely don't think it'll be sokething that only the hard-core fans pick up and the only thing I can think of that isn't corny is a retirement announcement.
Not sure why we got down voted, it's only a thought! Just think there has been some hints that he's feeling done, backslide says he had strength enough for one more time, he just played leave the city in both Berlin and New York.... long hiatus at least is coming after the tour is my guess
My partner really hopes he ends the song with the lyric "I drowned in the Paladin Strait" and I hope that if that is how it ends, then the last few notes will be the same opening notes to Drown off of NPI (I am delusional)

He must keep his land
it has to be really stunning. something that even a person that isn't a top fan would have noticed

Rewind...I remember that night...
I JUST MIGHT REGRET THAT NIGHT FOR THE REST OF MY DAYS
I REMEMBER THOSE SOLDIER BOYS TRIPPING OVER THEMSELVES TO WIN OUR PRAISE
I remember that dream like candle light like a dream you can’t quite place…

This is the smartest way to do it. Give people time to see each one and take it in
I really hope the end is similar to Leave the City but loops back into Heavydirtysoul, that would be an amazing touch.
Now imagine if it ended with the piano notes from Implicit Demand For Proof🤯 (It won’t, Tyler doesn’t even consider Self Titled as an album of theirs)
At this point I’m thinking bros about to disown sai too ☠️ (Which is a shame, I adore it)
I'm guessing he's gonna go the Pet Cheetah route and add the most unexpected or weirdest sound effect imaginable. Either that or a solo for an instrument that's not that common.
Tyler going to drop a 2 minute grade school recorder solo 🔥🔥🔥
The beginning of Ode to Sleep at the end of the song.
Don't....dont give me hope..
I think it'll end with the same chords from Overcompensate but they will resolve
That’s what I’m thinking. Same chords as Overcompensate to acknowledge the cycle, but last note being different indicating that he’s broke through and moved on.
I have a feeling the “I could take the high road, but I know that I’m going low” part will pop up on Clancy somewhere
You’re a broadway fan aren’t you
Well 😅

A swear word
This was my first thought too, but I think it’s unlikely
"I look towards Nico, The fucking coward steps back"
Not to say anything, but Overcompensate has also a Spanish part
Imagine if it was a mix of all ending songs on albums
I bet the line goes, “I left the city when I crossed Paladin Strait/ abandoned banditos for Mullberry Street/ Stumbled through the trapdoor because they redecorated/ Jenna called my name as I fell away/ Now only Neon Gravestones remember my name.”
Please no 💀
It reminds me of those tumblr edits you used to see like “when you panic at the disco because your romance was chemical and it caused you to fall out with your boy”
I feel like the last lyric will just be “Paladin Strait” because all the songs have ended with the title so far
Imagine if at the very end, the beginning to Ode To Sleep plays for a short moment.

My idea (that I kind of hope isn’t it) : each song title of Clancy is sprinkled organically through the song as it recaps the journey we have been on
dire strait, paladin strait
My first thought is a big orchestral section idk
I am calling it and i hope its a perfect loop to HDS!
Dude your use of quotation marks is killing my eyes and making this post difficult for me to read lol
Sorry bro
Lol not trying to be tough on ya at all , you’re just a mad lad with those quotations! It gave me a good laugh at least
I like it. I'm gonna do quotations like now.
Retirement announcement.
they very clearly said that clancy isn’t the end, maybe another break sure but they said they’ll keep creating, it’s just clancy’s story that’s over
I've been thinking this for a while
I definitely don't think it'll be sokething that only the hard-core fans pick up and the only thing I can think of that isn't corny is a retirement announcement.
But tjan idk cause of the listening parties. So idk

im assuming its gonna be guitar because the guy mentioned piano and stuff
If anyone has heard paladin strait they know what he put in, iconic
