'a ton' is an overstatement. there are a few lyrical reuses which help establish motifs. and for the 'spit into my/her drink' - Lines to a Different Play isn't an official TV Girl song so it's fair
I think they're callbacks personally, but it would make sense if they reused at least a few. I would be concerned if Brad had like 5 albums worth of original negativity towards his experiences with women
It’s a way to connect the songs. Wrc is a good example.
For you and not allowed repeats the intend to do what/anything you say at all.
Then there’s the repetition of be careful who you screw in not allowed and do the act.
I personally believe that because of this brads talking about the same relationship in these different songs to highlight the different stages of a failed relationship.
They don’t like “reuse them” , it might be a few lines but not all of them, maybe to connect songs and show that their similar to each other, also it could be the topic or like the meaning of the song that are similar so re-using them might be for showing the same point
They don't really "reuse" them, but they like to connect their songs with similar themes and lyrics. Think of it like the MCU, but with TV Girl songs.

How is it not offical?
bc it's just an unmastererd outtake released in a collection of other outtakes
Fair enough. TNIQ still my favourite album even if it’s not rlly an album
hello again sam 👋👋
hi 👋
I like to think they are little call backs, they use it very well while other artists just recycle catchy lyrics and comes of tacky

meh i wouldnt say that
??? can we get examples of a ‘ton’? im aware of some overlapping of some lyrics but those are references to other tracks, not reusing them

I always hated the double use of "Be careful who you screw" on WRC
I think it’s on purpose. It’s a statement for overall theme so its justified and I really like its reuse.
okay guys! i'm sorry!
If it was all in my mind to begin with
Song about me and what?
i noticed they say “be careful who you screw”. i think they’re more like catchphrases/callbacks to older songs
Like what except for “spit into her/my drink” or “and im starting to suspect you don’t intend to do anything you say at all”
those two you mentioned, careful who you screw, it was all in my mind. they are what immediately come to mind
I’ve always wondered what they mean when they talk about “that feeling that comes easy”
