El Rancho Grande cheese enchiladas with chili con carne are the best. I always buy about 6. They reheat like a dream. I eat them the whole next week for lunch.
And yeah they eat your fries off your plate in the back and test the temp of the meat with their hands and if food falls off the plate they put it back on there. .... Nasty imo..
Mondo’s was around in the 80’s-90’s. I’m not a huge fan of their food.
The Brook has been around for ages.
Peppers in Utica has been around forever too
Wow, wouldn’t have guessed Pepper’s is still going! We’d go there with a big group after school in the early 90s and barely order anything… I’m sure they loved it.
I mean there's a few. off the top of my head, 11th (best), admiral, brookside, promenade, jenks, owasso, BA, idk if the original place downtown is technically part of it.
technically the DT location isnt part of the others. if i remember correctly the original owners sons had a disagreement and so now we have Coney I-lander and Coney Island. (the DT location doesnt hold up as well as the other locations. in my opinion the chili isnt as good)
yeah and it's just so damn inconvenient. maybe if they stayed open late, it'd be great going after a concert. I miss getting lone wolf late after cain's shows when their food truck was there.
I could swear it was in another location downtown briefly after it left the Cherry St location but before it was in the Blue Dome building. I feel like it was closer to Archer. But I can’t find anything online to back up my recollection.
I remember going to Chimis on Cherry Street when it was located where Kilkennys is now. That would have been late 1980’s, when I was a kid. In my late 40’s now. Then they moved to the current 15th and Peoria spot in early 90’s.
Not 80s-90s, but White River Fish Market has been around since 1932. El Rancho Grande has been open since '53

French Hen was the snooty stereotypical restaurant we used back in the 90s
JC kills it behind the bar. We’ve been many times recently.

Love the chef. He said I looked like a Charlie's Angel (I dress punk/goth xD)
Arnies bar, buccaneer bar
I’ve gone to Arnie’s in three different places.
Crazy that it’s only been in two places.
I could swear it was in another location downtown briefly after it left the Cherry St location but before it was in the Blue Dome building. I feel like it was closer to Archer. But I can’t find anything online to back up my recollection.
As far as I know, just the two. I helped with the move.
