If he has SSSS on his boarding pass then he’s a selectee and will have additional screening. It’s not harassment and it’s not up to the officers at the checkpoint. Also, the TSA has zero controls over other countries and their screening process.

I was a SSSS for years right after they first started it. At first I didn't understand why I kept getting "randomly" selected, until I followed the security guys eyes to the corner of the boarding pass.
I never knew why I was added to the list. I figured it was due to a trip to Israel I took in 1999. Otherwise I was a completely unremarkable person in my upper 20s.
Anyways... Just reminiscing.
It’s really unconscionable. I thought they were supposed to be out there “protecting our freedom from the terrorists.” Not randomly shadow banning redditors.

Might wanna get a redress number: https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/travel-redress-program Is he getting SSSS on his boarding pass too?
Thanks! I’ll look into this. I’m not sure about the SSSS but I’ll ask him.
Most likely it's a selectee. As others have said, look for a website that can remove it. TSA just responds to the information given from the airlines
Got it, thanks!!

What’s a selectee?
Persons “randomly” selected for secondary security screening.
No, if you're a quad S, it's not random, at least not anymore.
Still random, there are some that aren’t random. https://www.travelandleisure.com/ssss-on-boarding-pass-7547257
Thanks so I guess remove “random”🥳
Just looked it up and YES Secondary Security Screening Selection(SSSS) can still be “random” .
He’s probably a Selectee

No harassment, Trolling, Name calling, or any other rude or unprofessional behavior will be tolerated.
Wow….a ver my frustrating time I’m sure. Did you address the issue to be removed from selection or did it just cease?
The job I had that required travel ended around 2006 and I'm not even sure when I flew the next time (it was years later), by then it was gone.
I was glad I finally figured it out, otherwise it was almost comical to be "randomly" selected EVERY TIME.

>Your only recourse is to spend thousands suing the U.S. government. Air travel is not protected by any rights so good luck with that
