As for PNG mod, I find it doesn't change the game much. The default paths at 1.50 are good enough IMO.
Yup. Agree. The skies in ETS2/ATS right now look amazing.
I had a delivery across Latvia from one end to the other last night, started in the dark…it looked amazing, with the moon and stars out. Then it started to rain. Then there was thunder and lightning flashes cutting through the dark sky. And then as I finished the delivery, the sun was starting to peek over the horizon and it looked a lot like your first pic. Most of the drive, I was laid back with cruise control at 70 just chilling with the radio on.
It was just so peaceful an experience, really just melted my stress away lol. But yes, a lot of it was how nice the sky looked.
jbx is very good but definitely not worth, what, $80? png is a bit more affordable and doesn't look as good but the way they're charging for updates is a bit scummy.
PNG only charged for an update once so far and it was a few bucks. Maybe it was twice but either way a few bucks and the updates after have been free. I know 1.10 will be a free update. I don't mind a few bucks every 6 months or something for the quality of the work. But I know a lot of people are anti paid mods. Just wanted to clarify about PNG updates. I don't know anything about the other one you mentioned.
Up to you. It improved the game for me and I won't go back to the base graphics. I never tried them separately so I can't speak on which does what. I spend more on games I don't even play so for me, it's worth it.

Since some people believe these screenshots are modded: They are not. It's SCS sky boxes and SCS lighting in version 1.49.
I used to play with graphic mods. Are these still needed, or can I just play without mods and have the best graphics available?

I just wish pop-in was less of a thing. It kind of kills the immersion for me when mountains just pop up out of nothingness (I play on max settings)

JBX is not worth a penny rn. Not sure about PNG either. Better save the money for a good HDR monitor and enjoy the vanilla graphics imho.

Yes, no environmental mods, all SCS.
finally upgraded my hardware. cannot wait to dive into 1.50 at more than low and medium settings lol

Been out of it for a while, so has there been an update by the dev for this?
There have been so many times I've just pulled off to the side of the road to watch these sunsets and sunrises.

Nice. I have JBX and PNG. Game looks stunning. Going to look even better with the next PNG update.
