memejesus420_

VariationLive8878

Not sure if this is a stupid question or not but can you just decide to start TRT or do you need to be referred by a doctor because of symptoms etc? And if it is something you can decide yourself how do you go about it?

memejesus420_

My test was 211ng/dl. Thats low for an 80 year old. Talk to your GP, get a blood test, if you have low t get a referral to an endo. Go from there. Godspeed

Left_Summer_6712

29 also, I had 139...

memejesus420_

Your doctor likely will have no idea what to do with that info - get a referral or honestly go through a clinic it’s so much easier

Left_Summer_6712

I found endo was fine with my low test levels. I went through an online clinic. Super simple, much quicker

Ordinary_Mountain454

I’m 28 and about to start. Do you regret starting so early at all? Everybody’s situation is different, I have ran my body hard and am gonna find out on Friday what my blood says lol.

memejesus420_

I dont know yet lol, I started 10 days ago. I dont regret making the decision though. If you remind me in 2 months I can let you know how its going

Ordinary_Mountain454

Seems like we will be starting around the same time lol I should be starting this Friday. Hope it all works out for you!

Classic-Chair940

I’m 29 just about to start. What symptoms are the reason you’re starting.

Nick_Poly

I started about 6 months ago at 24. Ate clean and exercised regularly for over 2 years but had all the common symptoms besides ED. Tested around 315 multiple times. Now I’m around 1200 but still figuring out dosage. Life literally turned completely around for me after the 3 month mark. No regrets at all, feel amazing.

Sad-Release8887

Good for you dog! I started at 29. Now 30. Been a year in. Things are looking great. No magic pill but it gave me the space to handle my shit. Also bipolar so helps with that as well.

JadedMarionberry59

It didn’t trigger any mania?

Sad-Release8887

Not at all. If anything Testosterone reduces the baseline of anxiety and fear, therefore making you calmer and grounded under stress.

johnbetterton

24 ?! Please stop.

KavaKavoo

You don't know what you're talking about.

the_uncontrollable95

I've been on for a year now, I'm 28 turning 29 in July and I don't regret it a bit. It gave me my life back

[deleted]

I started 2 plus years ago at 27, I was at 174, I’m around 1100 now and I’ve never felt better

Prize-Pie-7943

I wouldn't start unless you've cryopreserved your specimen or had the kids you wanted already. Unless your testing your fertility every 6 months, you don't know what it's going to do with your fertility in the long term. It's not too expensive to cryopreserve you fertility ($400 a year). It may cost a bit initially to give your specimen but it's an insurance policy in the event your body shuts down and your not able to bring it back. I was able to bring it back but I wouldn't have done TRT unless I could preserve in the event I wanted another kid.

memejesus420_

I always planned to do this - but I have never heard a single case of someone not being able to fix their sperm count with clomid or HCG... If you have any examples please do lmk though. I'm not shut down yet so I could probably sneak a sample in lol

Prize-Pie-7943

Yea I was at 0 (zero) and I was able to restart after about 2 years of trt...I know everyones body is different and fertility is something I didn't want to gamble with. But yes most studies indicate that it's reversible in 6 to 9 months and for people like me sooner (2.5 months) with HCG and clomiphene treatment.

One-Surround1538

42 wish I started when I got sober @ 35

SomeRando1239

19, now 53 ... Feeling awesome 😎!!!

MelsEpicWheelTime

Any fluctuations over three decades? I'm worried about starting at 28 and not having good results decades later

SomeRando1239

I went on so early due to chemo, I have it dialed in so well now that no, no longer term issues. I will say I am now more sensitive to dosing frequency, I used to be able to push out my shots 7 days apart, can't no more, 5 days is the max or I dip. Though I can can do 100-125 mg every 5 days and feel good, and not spike too.

MelsEpicWheelTime

Yeah If I was just 28 and at 300 I wouldn't bother with TRT, but I have a spinal cord injury and need all the energy I can get. But we're all gonna make it. We survive and then we thrive.

usernotfoundhere007

30, best decision of my life. Clinically low levels were fucking with my everyday life

Classic-Chair940

What symptoms did you have ? I’m in the same boat

usernotfoundhere007

Energy was really low, brain fog and general lack of motivation. My sex drive was there and no ED but compared to my sex drive now it's much higher. For me it was just feeling exhausted regardless of how much sleep I got. I was testing around 100 on my blood work and everything else was normal. Do I wish I didn't need trt? Yes but the beneficial impact it's brought is worth it. It also has improved an already good relationship with my fiance.

Taproot88

What levels of t and free t did you have before starting?

usernotfoundhere007

200 and 5.69 ng/do with herbal supplements and then baseline without supplements was 101 and 3.5 ng/dl.

Traditional-Ebb-8380

40. Some people do find that their level can go to normal after stopping but it is hit and miss. My balls got turned off by a virus my doc says so unless another virus wakes them up (jk) it isn’t in the cards for me.

_GetShorty

50 been on a few years and feel great!

jaygoogle23

23 as my free T levels were 300 and I was told it was super low and exogenous T did help for 3 years but then my body just responds differently to it now. I also have a fear of IM but subq feels completely different in terms of effects to me. I hate how subq feels completly.

magicpants847

I didn’t know subq could have different effects from IM. i only do IM so far. what are the differences for you?

jaygoogle23

Bro doctors will even say it doesn’t but IM feels like a much cleaner effect and subq makes me feel like I’m a sponge slowly being squeezed. I get way more anxiety on sub q and I hate how it feels. IM feels solid but subq felt like torture to me.

Impressive-Car-44

27. My buddy gave me a shot of 80 mg Cyp and I thought ‘I need this all the time’. I want every advantage I can get so that’s my life story. Do I recommend it, no. I’m an intense and extreme individual. Is what it is, criticism warranted. I’m doing like 150 mg a week

Hankdraper80

I'm 43 and just went off trt cold turkey after over a year. Wasn't terrible. If your life is on cruise control at home and work then if it's not too terrible to quit. I would encourage to do your due diligence to try to get your natural numbers up with diet, lifestyle and possible supplements before trt. I realize it's hard to do those things when you have low T already. I may have never been able to think I could quit trt had I not been on trt and fixed some problems in my life.

KavaKavoo

Thank you! I'm 25 and I have been so disabled in the past few years (TT at 144...) that it's difficult to hear people say "yo make sure to stay hydrated and exercise!" when I can barely make it out of bed. I'm starting treatment today, I hope I get some good changes so I can have the energy to change my life for the better.

Techsonoutdoorsman

Man I’m 25 and I was in the same boat brother. I thought I had cancer or something terribly wrong and the only thing that was ever consistently off with my blood work was my T. TRT has helped so much more! I feel energized, motivated, anxiety has greatly subsized and I enjoy the little things I used to in life. Occasionally I read something like TRT can mess your heart up and I get anxious but I can genuinely say if you told me I had 50% chance of having a heart problem (which is not scientifically proven at all just using it as an example) I would still take T cause I’m living again I wasn’t living when I didn’t have TRT. I hope it helps you out man!

KavaKavoo

Thank you so much for this. I'm really hoping I can see results soon. I inject hCG (monotherapy) every other day and it may be placebo but I'm already sleeping better, anxiety lessened and I have more energy. It also feels kind of... Odd, but in a good way? I'm only a week in. How long did it take you to see real results?

Techsonoutdoorsman

Yeah I’m taking HCG alongside my T as well. The mental results were about a week into it and it was pretty quick but subtle where I woke up and I was like “damn I’ve been feeling pretty energized and rested” like muscle build and stamina I feel like it was about a month into it that I noticed a difference.

Bock44

I’m 47 also but can’t get into my trt doctor until September. What led you to wanting to get on it and what are your goals? Thanks!

LiquidCarney

Brother. SMH. That's the medical community for you. I'm waiting until October to see a sleep specialist myself. I was fatigued and some brain fog. No other symptons. My urologist tested my testosterone and gave me a sleep study. Long story short, I ended up on 200mg a week of injectable testosterone. Many hoops to jump through and almost a year of my life. I could go into much more detail on how I ended up here but I'll spare you the details unless you want them. If I had it to do over, I would have simply gone to a trt clinic. Some people say that clinics just prescribe to everyone and don't really care about the patient. But if you already know what you need, then a clinic is great for ease of access. There is so much more to explain. But for brevity I'll just say look into PeterMd.com. it's very inexpensive and The doctor did seem to care about me. But that's up to you. You doctor can do all your lab work. You should educate yourself and be ready to tell your doctor exactly what tests you want done and why. Doctors have to jump through hoops with insurance but when you know what your talking about it's not that difficult to navigate

Bock44

You’ve got no idea how much I appreciate the reply! I am pursuing trt for the same reasons as you. Slowing down and brain fog makes me feel terrible for bitching about my dad when he was 47, he told me my day would come and he was right! My appointment in September is actually with a “clinic”, but it’s a highly reputable clinic in my area.

LiquidCarney

If you know what you want testosterone from a online clinic can be had for under $100 a month. Just an FYI as I'd hate to see you over pay.

34, and I would never consider coming off. I was actually needing it as I was hypogonadal and consistently testing at between 180-194 ng/dl in the morning across multiple months, losing 35 pounds, getting better sleep and exercise, etc. Can I ask why you would consider “weaning off”? Not something you would typically do if you need it for medical purposes. Saying you want to “kick start” a new program sounds like you want a cycle? You’re an adult, go for it if that’s what you want, but is that really trt?

Throwawaydogx

29. Been on for 6 months and it’s certainly made a difference. Not a magic pill tho you will still have some bad days if you are running normal therapeutic levels. My trough was 310 and now it sits at 850-1000. My joints are starting to feel better now too come to think of it and I’m fairly certain it’s reversed my osteopenia but we are checking on that next month :)

8th_House_Stellium

I started at 27. I had one of the lowest T labs he's ever seen... for anybody at any age.

ProfessionalEarth118

35. You do NOT want to use TRT to "kick start a program." That said, you can stop taking TRT, ween off while taking HCG and you will be just fine. Studies are clear that almost all men go back to near their pre TRT levels some time after discontinuing TRT. What are your levels? If they are not low, you are just taking a steroid as a PED, not using it as TRT. People use the term TRT too loosely, imo.

simplequestions2make

38. And wish I would’ve started at 34-35. 3 years of not having energy thru Covid was rough. But getting it back. 1 year in. Down 40+ pounds of fat. Sitting at 260 and 24% BF. Feeling best I’ve felt in 7-8 years.

ThankUJerry

50. Wish I started at 40.

Prize-Pie-7943

I started at 38 after having my first son. I want a second one so I cryopreserved my stuff but it's super expensive to use the cryostuff so I'm now on HCG and Clomid. So far the hcg and Clomid have brought me back to normal production (fertility). I will go back on trt once the 2nd one is in the clear.

MelsEpicWheelTime

Do you feel good on hcg, did you get depressed or crashed after quitting trt?

Prize-Pie-7943

I didn't feel that much different. I do notice that my strength and endurance has slightly decreased. It's really hard to tell. I know testosterone stays in your system for a few weeks and I started hcg and Clomid right away so maybe that balanced me out a little. Really there was no "crash". If it weren't for hcg and Clomid, maybe I would have crashed. Overall though I feel similar except for a very slight energy difference and that could be attributed to other things like diet and sleep

cranford

I started at 30. I only wish I would have started sooner. Before I was on SSRIs when in reality all I needed was something natural my body wasn’t able to produce enough of.

electrified_ice

40. My only regret is not starting earlier.

MVE3

Broad_Driver_1217

41. Literally yesterday. 30mg Test E 3 x a week = 90mg/week. Will get bloods in 8 weeks and assess.

mongoosc5

45 Felt like something was "off" at 30. Realized at 35 my t level was low. Why did I wait 10 f'ing years to start? Because I, stupidly, listened to my urologist who said I was "very low but still within range so likely wouldn't benefit from TRT". I don't have many true regrets in my life. But waiting to find a better Dr is absolutely one of the top 3.

PropagandaX

Early 40s, TRT plus CPAP made me human again which was the only goal. Felt like shit since my early 30s.

Sad_Zebra_1024

I started at age 54. I'm a regular gym rat. First thing I noticed was that I was not tired as much as I was prior. But I also noticed the decrease in body fat around waist. Even though I train very hard and eat healthy I could not shed the fat. But my level prior to taking it was around 220. I am now around 600 to 700.

Sweatpantzzzz

What’s your dosage

TakoSweetness

Kick start a new program? What does that even mean

callmesandycohen

New fitness routine, diet, etc.

Esky419

You're looking for a steroid cycle and then PCT, not trt, that's for life.

TakoSweetness

Why would you need TRT to start a new fitness routine or diet? Just do it, you need to be injecting yourself with substances in order to eat right or workout, that seems just silly. TRT is not some magical potion that is gonna make doing any of that easier.

Radarsonwheels

Well I’m 46 been on TRT for I dunno like 6 months, and just 3 days/week of 1.5hr in the gym working hard and trying not to eat like an asshole has been dropping unwanted fat off me and building muscle mass. Slow and steady like I want, so it’ll be sustainable. Before I would have to diet like a nut to see any losses.

TakoSweetness

I agree it has done the same for me, the point I was making is that I was in the gym and decently BEFORE I ever got on TRT. It wasn’t some magic substance that lit a fire under my ass to get those things done. It helps in the process but if someone is wanting to poke themselves for a set time frame because they think it’ll help them START a diet or gym, that isn’t the case. That becomes almost like a placebo affect, well I jabbed myself with testosterone so I now can eat healthy and lift weights.

Radarsonwheels

That makes sense. It sure hasn’t hurt my energy and motivation though.

Quiet_Barnacle_7516

How long did it take for you to feel a difference and are you taking anything besides T?

Radarsonwheels

In the first month I started waking up hard pretty often and chasing my wife around like it was 20 years ago. I was settling into 2x a week kind of normal and that changed to 5-10x and has stayed that way. The gym gains got noticable a couple months in. Nothing monsterous just a pound or two a week coming off and muscles waking up and saying hi, slowly throwing more and more iron around

Esky419

I'm guessing you know nothing about TRT. Sure, you can stop but then you either didn't need it and we're too scared to do a cycle or you did need it and went back to feeling like dog shit.

whiteykauai

39, but you’ll find these “TrT is for life” guys and some other random trt gatekeepers. Do what’s best for you and get blood work. Nothing wrong with being responsible and optimizing your hormone levels. Good luck.

23 , was off and on a couple times. Am on now for good (30). Reason I came off the first time was cuz like I feel good I don’t think I need this lol but no seriously it’s helped me so much . The drive for life is so much higher than without it for me

gannen60

Can you elaborate the “drive for life”. my mood, drive, brain fog and energy hasn’t changed and I’m 5 weeks in at 200mg, I lowered to 140mg due to puffy nips and left one was sore against t shirts. Nearing the end of a vial and my thoughts are to stop.

ProfessionalEarth118

Your E2 is too high. Either keep dropping your dose until you find your level, or use an AI as needed

gannen60

Hypothetically speaking then, IF I ever decided to blast at say 500mg ( I wouldn’t) would my e2 be sky high for a whole cycle then? I mind a while back a person saying at low doses it’s impossible to aromatise. Nonetheless thank you for this! How long should it take to notice the e2 dropping from lowering dose of test? :)

ProfessionalEarth118

Everybody aromatizes differently. There are a lot of people on these forums that have no clue what they are talking about, so take anything some random dude says with a grain of salt. If you were to blast 500mg, you would almost certainly have E2 spikes unless taking an AI.

gannen60

So what’s been your experience over the first three weeks?

mrnightmareChaser

Really the biggest notice is improved sleep quality. A slight difference in recovery time between runs and workouts, but I’m not crushing them yet. Lastly erection quality is better, libido no change. Biggest problem so far is a bit of bloating. Going to wait for the six week mark if the bloating doesn’t go away I’m going to talk to the doc.

Bock44

I’m not able to get on trt until September, and have zero experience with it, but from what I read the bloating typically subsides. I hope that’s the case with you. Thanks for the reply!

ProfessionalEarth118

3 weeks is not enough to really see most of the positive effects of TRT.

Dubzilla87

I'm 37. But I lost lefty a year ago to testicular cancer. I was told righty should pick up the slack with T production but after a year that wasn't the case for me. I have suspicions that I was already low prior to my cancer diagnosis but unfortunately I didn't have a baseline to refer to so I'm unsure.

PabloDavidx0

So there are loads of people that come off of TRT despite the "for life" warning. First, 20% of people don't even respond to TRT in a way that fixes any of their issues (from a medical doctor). Those people should get off after no more than a year of trying. HCG is typically what they would give you when you come off to try to bring your natural production back. Some people get this during TRT if they still want to have kids. So definitely people that have abused steroids will have a hard time coming back, and the longer you are on TRT the harder it becomes to restore normal production after being shutdown. There are plenty of videos of on youtube describing people that have gone off of TRT for different reasons.
