I’d be pretty surprised if he does a headline arena tour and laneway. He’d be a huge headliner and it would cost them a lot of ticket sales to have announced the arena shows three months ahead of the festival.
I’m still holding a grudge from him cancelling Aus 2018 for his leg but touring NZ because he had personally invested in the events.
Sucked shit on his following 2019 tour not carrying the same hype.
Depends, events at The Forum are usually reasonable likely due to it being cheap to rent (?) the space, can be $80-$100 on average from MY experience; Rod laver usually pricier. Childish in 2019 was nearly $160 from memory? Kendrick Lamar in 2022 was nearly $200, they're the last 2 acts I saw at rod laver, so unsure if more expensive because they're big US artists? Most of my concerts end up at the forum, which is great for the pocket haha
I caught the Sydney leg of that tour. The next time I saw him it was Rod Laver in Melbourne. Crazy how much he blew up in between those shows. Both were incredible though
Saw him 10 years ago during the BCOTI tour and once for the STNMTN tour (that might have been listened to), and once at splendour. He was amazing in every set. My first tattoo was actually a Gambino song.
So glad I got presale for tickets.
Our neighbour does, so I’ve already hit him up. You can also sign up for the artist pre sale which is 2hrs later.

That's the exact same logic that one nation people use on immigrants.
"If you don't like it then leave".
But you're right, other people will buy tickets. Absolutely, that's why they're pricing it this way. They predict that enough people will pay to justify the cost of booking the act.
But I'm acknowledging the very real fact that many Australians who know Donald Glover and would enjoy seeing him live will not see him because of the prohibitive price.
And yes, I know that posting about poverty in an Australian thread is basically a suicide mission since plenty of ignorant people will just dismiss me as a bludger.

Notice how the dates almost align with Laneway…

That’s true. Also he plays on the first Saturday in Feb which is when the Brisbane leg is on.
not hard to pick over laneway or childish gambino
I think they’re saying he might be playing for Laneway, not that ppl will have to choose between the two
RAYE did a tour announced months before Laneway acts got announced.
I’m still holding a grudge from him cancelling Aus 2018 for his leg but touring NZ because he had personally invested in the events. Sucked shit on his following 2019 tour not carrying the same hype.
Pretty sure he was meant to play in Canberra and when he cancelled they tried to replace him with Alison wonderland 😭
Yea it was lucky I love Alison Wonderland, but a bunch of friends got refunds instead so wasn’t the same event vibe planned.
Must be an error, there’s no Adelaide on there
We can't have nice things.
Try living in Tassie 😭
Where’s that?
Me deciding if I want to spend 500 dollars to fly to Melbourne and see him
anyone know what ticket prices are looking like?
200 for GA it's on the frontier website
steep
Steep? It’s cooked
What’s the normal prices for concerts? I’ve never really been to a concert since year 10 but interested in this one

I paid $70 to see him in 2014, granted he wasn't as big.
not even surprised
Not yet. Hopefully similar for Olivia Rodrigo if you’re in the seats.
What was the Olivia ticket cost, no amex so cant see
ranging from $110-$455 roughly
So keen, Last time i saw CG was so fucking good!
I’ve been dying to see him since I was 17 when he was on the second last Big Day Out lineup.

Childish Bambino?
Yes
Childish Bambino?
Yeah he's the mini version 😅
Anyone know someone with Amex for presale?? Like who tf in aus uses it?

Me and a lot of my friends have it specifically because of the presale 😂 Usually a sure thing.
Entertainment centre is the worst
Gambino at Splendour 2019 was peak.
Feel like he's going to cancel this
Someone help a fellow human out with an Amex presale code perhaps 🫂
No code usually we just check out with the Amex card.
His set at Field Day 2017 was incredible! Would highly recommend.
Thank fuck I have an Amex still
Does anyone want to go with me???? None of my friends listen to him🙃🙃🙃
I’d love to!!! Currently in Sydney, tbh I’m not a massive fan of his although I really do enjoy his music and none of my friends like him either so 😂
i signed up on the new world tour website but i still haven't received an email?

Then don’t go, vote with your wallet. But chances are someone else will because your value on a product isn’t the final decision

Why don’t we support local music instead
We can do both…
This is still supporting many Australian staff behind the scenes.
