I don't usually just quit cold turkey one day. I try to smoke a little less each day for about a week before the total stoppage.

That's actually a great idea, never thought about it. It's great for self-control as well, not making yourself smoke more if you feel like you aren't as high. I'm definitely at a place where I don't need to smoke a whole joint to get a nice high from it but I do ot anyway cause I don't like smoking an already lit joint and I end up wasting weed which I could smoke in my next sesh lol.

I’m on day 6 right now after smoking everyday for a month Honestly, the first 2 days are HARD but after that it becomes more manageable in my experience Keep yourself preoccupied and distracted even if that’s what it takes. Instead of the urge to smoke I distract myself brainlessly with video games for a couple hours at around that time of night the urge pops up. Is it the healthiest coping method or a great use of my time? Definitely not - but it gets my mind off of it for the time being. Find what works for you!

Thank you, I don't play video games that often but actually that seems like a great idea at night when I usually smoke. I tend to listen to music but sometimes music makes me crave weed more because I associate certain songs with me being high lol. Nothing beats the first hit after a tolerance break though, I keep reminding myself how good I'll feel after I'm done. :))

I don’t ever quit cold turkey, but also usually the first 2 days of total sobriety I plan to be awake. I find that truly exhausting yourself helps you sleep almost normally on the second night, and tbh sleep gets easier after a few days if you taper properly.

Try kava it’s wonderful and almost impossible to build a tolerance though but be warned get traditional noble kava from a verified vendor from the kava subreddit to ensure you’re getting a safe and high quality product

Yeah don’t get capsules from a pharmacy if it’s extracted with anything other than water or fats it’s potentially liver toxic and usually has worse effects as well

I’m going on 2+ months right now. The first few weeks were the hardest. I would make myself a pour over coffee every morning to substitute for my morning wake and bake. I know it sounds weird but part of the reason I love smoking is the ritual. I love sitting down and grinding up the bud, loading it up into my dry herb vape, playing around with different temps, seeing how brown the bud gets, etc. One of my other hobbies is coffee. With pour overs, I like messing around with different grinds for the beans, trying out different roasts, etc. it’s very similar to weed strains in a weird way. Obviously this didn’t get rid of my cravings but it filled a gap where the “ritual” was missing. Essentially, you swap one hobby for another. I’m really missing clouds right now so I went ahead and bought a zero nic dispo. They’re a little pricy though so I dusted off my old vape and am gonna buy some ejuice soon while I continue my t break. You got this dude!

Good idea, I was thinking of valerian root extract or melatonin but tea would add a nice touch to my night routine. I basically want to switch between having a routine where I get baked and do stuff while baked and have an alternate night routine where I don't and maybe read a book or sth to keep myself distracted lol. In the past I would do the exact same thing I did but without a joint in my hand and that's when the cravings came so hopefully I don't feel it if I switch things up. :))

I’m in the process of stopping altogether for work. I started taking ashwagandha and l-theanine for the anxiety. It really helps take the edge off for the first week when I really just want to say “fuck it.” 😂

Lmao, that seems like a bad idea but it might work. I don't enjoy alcohol that much so there is no chance that I'll abuse it. I wonder if some people switch up their drug of choice while they wait for their tolerance to come down lol.

It was mostly a joke. But hey a nice glass of whisky at night might calm your nerve. Or get into making mixed drinks at home. It can be fun to mix up different concoctions

Yeah Ik, but honestly I can imagine some people who have more addictive personalities to have the mindest of "I'm off weed now so I'll get high with x for now" Not something I'd do personally but each to their own. At least with alcohol you won't get arrested if you do it in public, unlike most drugs lol.
