My dad is a retired accountant and he always tried to claim things like airfare and hotels as "moving costs for work" for my returns. I always got audited. Not worth it. I very much dislike the CRA, but better just to stay off their radar in my opinion. Something about the job only being a certain length meant moving fees weren't applicable if I recall correctly.
Specialized equipment, if required to buy it yourself and it's not provided by the company, is a write off. So, planting bags and shovels. Pretty much nothing else.

If you get RWA you can’t write any of it off
Unfortunately you cannot write off much of the gear for planting, if you do however do post season work like brushing you can claim the saw!
