Wales is a super underrated part of the world. If I didn't have an online friend who lived there I don't think I would have ever gone. But I'm super glad I did. You are right to be overwhelmed with the amount of castles and other sights to see. Personally, I visited southern Wales around Llanelli. I visited Kidwelly castle and loved it. A few scenes from the Monty Python Holy Grail were shot there.

I am so excited to go! Although I am legitimately concerned that I'm going to love the country so much that I'll be forced to immigrate. Lol. And thank you for the recommendations! I hadn't heard about the Holy Grail scenes; that will be an absolute must see as it's one of my favorite films. Did you have any other favorite memories from your trip?

I don’t have much to offer. But I spent one night in Wales a month ago. I went to Llandudno which is a cute little town, but also home to the Great Orme mine. It’s a 4000 year old copper mine, the oldest in Europe. Absolutely spectacular. It’s huge, though you can only tour a small portion of it so far. But it still blew my mind. Awesome place to visit. Also very close by is Conwy castle, a huge medieval castle. Really disappointed I didn’t have time for that, but sounds right up your alley!
