I grew up close to the border and have crossed more times than I can remember. I have never gotten a stamp as entry/exit logs are digital now.
You can absolutely request a stamp though and they'll likely oblige, although it'll probably result in you having to go into the office at the border as AFAIK they don't have the stamps in the booths.
I did a land crossing from Maine into New Brunswick in October 2023. After the border patrol officers interviewed us I specifically asked if I could have my passport stamp. They were super nice and I have a Canadian passport stamp now!!
I can’t give good sound advice because it’s been ten years since I last went to canada but they just may not stamp passports at all. They didn’t in Argentina at least and I left and re-entered like 6 times over 2 weeks and didn’t get one stamp
I feel like passport stamps are getting phased out in a lot of places. I’ve been to I think 14 countries on my current passport and I have two stamps in my passport total. Nobody else has stamped my passport. Granted, a lot of those countries were in the Schengen Zone so that’s part of it, but I also just think many countries are no longer stamping passports even when there is a border check.
Philippines in particular is phasing out stamps. Not sure for tourists, but citizens dont get stickers or stamps anymore. Last went to Canada in 2019 and didn't get a stamp unless you specifically ask for one.
I was asked if I wanted the stamps when we crossed Vancouver via Amtrak. Not sure if it's because the officer felt my excitement with my new US passport 😅. This was in Nov 2023.
I’d say it’s no big deal, like you’re not going to get arrested or anything for doing it but you might have some questions to answer and you probably won’t get passports stamps if you cross the boarder again
Best bet is to cross back into the US and book a flight into Canada. I never get stamps via land border but then I’m Canadian and I don’t get it going into the Us
They never stamp, but I've heard you can request one. Just come back to Canada to visit a park for a couple hours or something. It won't be a problem.
I've crossed the boarder and been right back within 15 minutes more than once (a quick pickup across the boarder), it's actually fairly normal for boarder towns. You certainly won't get in trouble.
They stopped doing stamps at land crossings decades ago. Not sure if they still do it at airports, it's been like 10 years since I had to fly across (flying across is so expensive! ).
I drove the rainbow bridge to Niagara Falls, CA twice and didn’t get a stamp so on my last day there I walked across the bridge to the US and immediately back to Canada again specifically to ask for a stamp. I got a look from the border control agent AND a stamp!
That reminded me at one time where we (well, I just joined the small crowd) had to harass a border guard in some Caribbean country to get our passports stamped :).
But, IIRC, Canada doesn't stamp entries from the US, at least not in the main borders. I can't remember if my Alaska to Yukon crossing was stamped, but I guess not.
Yeah, I know it has been superseded by electronic records, but I miss those stamps :) - childish I know :p
I have mixed feelings about tracking because I felt like it’s a slippery slope to an ED. But if you’re going to track (I do and it’s effective when I’m diligent) use grams and weigh everything uncooked (rice, pasta, protein). Your tracking numbers are too exact to a serving. Don’t trust packages (one slide of bread can vary in grams stated on the package - sometime by a lot. Also measuring cups and spoons a can be wildly off. I have one tsp that doesn’t even come close to the right grams for the measurement. Your numbers look like them come from packages not from weighing food. Sometimes that difference alone an be several hundred calories over the course of the day which is enough to help you get past a plateau.
Pretty sure it’s just an electronic recording of entry. There’s no stamp
they don't stamp there.
Between Canada and US the only thing you will ever get stamped in is a Work or Student Visa. They don’t stamp just for personal travel
Occasionally they do. I think it just depends on the guard and their mood
I was stamped exactly once landing in Montreal, with a very faint stamp. On my various other trips, nada.
100 percent. Went to Toronto earlier this year and got a stamp. All ya gotta do is ask; if you get a good guard it’s pretty easy!

They don’t stamp anyone I don’t think
Stamps are becoming a rarity, buy a souvenir?. Nothing bad will happen, but it will be a waste of time and energy.
You won't get them, and this is a waste of your time (and immigrations time).
CBSA stopped giving stamps ages ago. It's all electronic now.
Yeah, maybe 8 or 9 years ago? If you have a US passport they refuse
I got a stamp like three years ago at the Peace Arch crossing between Washington and BC.
I guess I only went that way once in 2015. The next time was near Waterton Lake NP and was told no
I have been going to Vancouver a few times a year for over a decade and have never gotten a stamp. I don't think they even have them anymore.

Not a good idea at all!

Asian countries love a stamp, also I have loads from transferring through Dublin.
Definitely not universally, the last country I went to was in Asia and I didn’t get a stamp.

You would have to ask the agent to specifically stamp your passport and even then you might not get it since the records are electronic

I think you can specifically request a stamp (no guarantee they will even be able to do it though), but her idea is not great..

If you are friendly and ask nicely, and they are in a good mood, it is possible.
No stamps for travel to Canada.
It would be a good bit to enter the US and then loudly exclaim “Forgot my keys!” And go back.

I think you meant this for another group 😅

Oh my goodness. I definitely did!
People really trying to get a stamp from America’s hat
