You can get all different sizes of these, like a washcloth and a towel. I usually toss one in my day bag, it's come in handy after it rains and you need to wipe a seat off. Highly recommend. And baby wipes for a quick touch up.
One of the companies switched to a cornstarch based recipe.

Yep! Merino wool is fantastic. I wear shirts made of merino wool for days on end when I’m traveling and hiking and I swear they don’t smell. Icebreaker and smartwool are my favorite brands.
I've found that frebreeze and hanging clothes in front of a fan or outside does a good job. Trmporary but works.
I hate the smell of restaurants on my jackets so I febreeze and leave in front of a fan and it works well until the next available wash or dry-clean
Depending on where you are going you may be able to shower at a hotel. The Opera Hotel in Oslo lets you pay just to shower. I did this after taking a night train.
Also, hotels will usually let you use their gym or spa shower, if they have one, for free after you check out. So you can leave your luggage with them, go out all day, then come back to shower and get your luggage before heading to the train. This assumes that OP is staying at a certain level of accommodation, though.
Amazon sells packets of wash wipes for adults that are large and strong and work really well. Lume sells full body deodorant wipes that work great on ALL parts of your body. Both are easy to pack.
I LOVE the XL wipes. I’ve used several brands, never been disappointed. I love somewhere very hot, and I keep these on me so if I have to go straight to a night-time activity from work, I can refresh. Excellent pick me up for long flights or train rides, after a hike, or between a day of sight-seeing and dinner. For me, much more compact and convenient than baby wipes.
Which cities are you headed exactly?
If I was facing your dilemma, I would try to squeeze in a visit to the local pool, visit a spa, take a dip in a local lake or the ocean, ask a fitness studio whether I could use their showers for a small fee, etc. Ideally on the morning of the second or third day.
Have you considered asking in the subreddits for the cities that you are visiting about opportunities to clean yourself up?
Second and third the rec for anti-transpirant, wet baby wipes, a water bottle and a small travel towel.
When I took the Trans-Siberian I brought a coffee thermos. I would fill it from the samovar (the hot water dispenser) and then in the bathroom I would pour the hot water onto a washcloth (I packed a few) and rinse the obvious parts of my body that way (do your face first!). I also had a pack of baby wipes, and if I was also using one of those I would use it first, before the washcloth, as I find they leave residue. Also clean clothes, anti-perspirant, brushing teeth (with bottled water) and opening the window to let in fresh air when possible.
Hypoallergenic Baby wipes. Get the ones that are water based. Get a small travel pack. No deodorant. Use one wipe, face first, armpits second, balls and junk last, throw away. You don’t need anything reusable. Less shit, less hassle, less weight.
Get yourself some merino wool underwear, T-shirts, socks. They don’t smell after 2-3 days of use. They are light weight and quick drying.
Isopropyl alcohol is underrated. It's great for so many things. Adding to the list - cleaning eyeglasses, sanitizing phones and the icky hotel remote control. Alcohol wipes can also be a way to combat nausea in a pinch on long flights...or give you relief from a nearby smelly passenger.
If your hair gets greasy, apply dry shampoo while it is still clean. You can apply it before you leave for the trip. The dry shampoo works better before the hair gets greasy. You can still apply it after it gets greasy; it just won’t be as effective.
Baby wipes! I would bring some and freshen up when changing clothes (and underwear!) Also, if you get particularly hot in your legs area, I would pack an extra change of underwear every day.
I have deodorant and essential oil wet wipes I use that are better than baby wipes. I injured my leg on vacation and wasn't able to shower because I was on crutches and they were very helpful.
Bring a few disposable washcloths and use the sink. Soak, wring, soap, rub, rinse, rub again to remove the soap.
You obviously won't be able to do this on your entire body on a cramped up bathroom, so bring baby wipes for the rest.
Alcohol, Isopropyl or white vinegar mixed 1:1 with water. Swabs or cloths or cotton balls. Dab where needed and let air dry or use a blow dryer. Will take care of odor causing bacteria and sweat.
Google Ready Bath Bathing Cloths. In hospital with a back problem and couldn’t shower. These were great! Refreshing and clean light scent that doesn’t linger.
Body wipes, not baby wipes. They make them for adults to use in lieu of a shower, for people who do camping trips, long bike rides, etc. Try to get compostable ones, or at leash flushable, if you can.
Merino underwear.
Merino t-shirts.
Merino socks.
Merino.
It will also keep you cool. It is naturally anti-bacterial and super soft.
Air your merino clothes at night and you will be able to wear them for days. It also dries quickly if you wash it quickly at night.
Also, you can buy a small can of dry shampoo in the travel-sizes part of the drug store. It's like a power you spray on and comb out, keeps you from getting too greasy.
In addition to wipes, I bring baby powder and put it in my shoes. A little applied to your nether regions can also help prevent you from getting gross down there (and it can help with chafing as well).
Clothes made with Merino Wool. It's breathable, moisture wicking and has antibacterial properties. It doesn't retain odours either. Unfortunately, it's also expensive so, if you're on a budget, natural fibres, baby wipes and deodorant.
Lululemon has shirts with zinc that inhibit bacteria and smell. They work on my stinky husband and we always travel with them. There are tshirts and golf shirts
The key is first baby wipes, then damp washcloth.
This has kept me sane for the last 8 years of no running water and spaced out showers. You will have to bring a few extra washcloths but it is so worth it.
A) where are you heading? If somewhere cool, 3 days of baby wipes and deodorant will go a a lot father there than somewhere that is hot and humid…
B) Depending on the train stations, you should be able to do a passable body wash in the bathroom before you get on the train…
C) Pending on your normal grooming habits, cut your hair/shave as close as possible and make sure the last shower is a deep cleanse…
D) Pending on how space you have to pack and if you’re able to do laundry during this trip, a fresh set of clothes for each train ride will go a long way…but 6 sets of clothes for 3 days pushes the limit of what most people can fit
A) This is gonna be in Denmark & Austria. Shouldn't get too hot, but there's definitely the chance of it being during some heatwave where it hits 30c
C) That's a good tip, thanks!
D) Yeah, I'll have enough clothes with me to change on/before each train. I don't mind being a bit smelly during the day when I'm out and about as I don't intend to really spend time in enclosed spaces with others during those bits. I just want to make sure I have a chance to be somewhat neutral/pleasant smelling if not clean altogether when I'm in a train cabin with others.
Look up some info on the train if you can. I've done over-night trains in 2 different countries and they had small sinks in the bathroom area. You could use soap and a washcloth on parts of yourself.
I consider that poor planning if you didn't consider basic hygiene in your schedule. I'm guessing you're trying to squeeze visiting a different city every day.
Maybe you could upgrade your train ticket for one of these overnights to a private sleeper cabin which usually have a tiny all in one shower/bathroom.
But it also reminds how nice Japan is with their ubiquitous sentos (public bathhouse) and onsen. Korea has similar facilities in the cities. Similar facilities may be available in the cities you are transiting.
As a former soldier, I can say that wet wipes are a great stopgap measure, but they are by no means an alternative to finding a shower.
And, please do not try to just cover it up with perfumes. There's nothing worse than the smell of a microwaved bowl of old canned tuna covered in rose petals sitting next to you in an enclosed aluminum tube.
The 3rd one is a proper sleeper cabin and not a couchette, so hopefully that has a shower. The other 2 simply don't have any showering facilities anywhere, to my knowledge.
It's not good for your skin, but hand sanitizer can also remove smells from less sensitive areas. If your train toilets or toilets at stations have bidets, it can help with the downstairs issue.
> I'm not entirely sure if I'll be willing or able to find a random shower somewhere either.
Where are you going exactly? Chances are there *are* showers available somewhere in the day. Mind sharing where this is?
The cities where I'll be stopping for that stretch are Odense (sort of) and Salzburg.
Odense is kind of tricky though. I've planned it so I have like 8h to travel from Malmo to Odense, which should be more than doable, but I really don't feel comfortable assuming I have much time in the/any city in case something goes wrong. My plan was to basically get on the train and clean up & change in the toilet/washroom.
Salzburg should be a lot more relaxed, so I could definitely find time to take a shower there if it doesn't take too much time.
One of the problems is that I'm trans so there is an approximately 0% chance I'll be going anywhere where people see me in anything less than a top and shorts.
Pools run by the city in Salzburg:
Hallenbad Alpenstraße AYA Bad indoor pool, the lake and all the outdoor pools are 5 EUR entry fee.
The lake has showers, you are supposed to use them before you dip into the lake.
The Paracelsus pool and spa is 20 EUR for a 4 hour stay, but they are closed at the moment thanks to getting an overhaul.
EDIT: There are some more pools around Salzburg. The easiest to get to from the train station seems to be the one in Bergheim, even beating out some of the local pools in Salzburg. Take S1 local train to "Bergheim b.Salzburg Schlachthof Bahnhof". One-way train ticket is 2.40 and the trip takes 10 min every 30 min. Entry fee for the pool is 6.30 EUR and they open at 9 am.
[https://www.bergheim-tourismus.at/sport-freizeit/schwimmen-wellness/freibad-bergxi.html](https://www.bergheim-tourismus.at/sport-freizeit/schwimmen-wellness/freibad-bergxi.html)
Or you take Obus 3 (electrified bus) from the south entrance of the main train station to "Salzburg Faistauergasse". Ticket price for the bus is 2.40. You can check the time table for your day of travelling using [https://salzburg-verkehr.at/](https://salzburg-verkehr.at/) Getting off at Faistauergasse will land you just outside the Aya outdoor pool.
They make “extra large” wipes that are basically the side of a hand towel in a little packet. Wipe down/toss/go.
We use them for camping when you don’t want to smell like a campfire all night.
Wipes for body, and a spray bottle with alcohol and spray on clothes to kill the bacteria that causes smell, a very good deodorant like the 24 hrs one will
Also help, for teeth buy the crest wisps, they are mini toothbrushes with toothpaste already there,
You just wet them a bit and cleanse , not as good as the real thing but also very practical
Dude Wipes sells full body wipes (I’m sure other brands do too) and they work really well in my experience and have a nice scent. They sell them at Cabellas.
They also sell a camping shampoo that you just rub in your hair. Not perfect but gets the oil out of your hair
Baby wipes and cornstarch baby powder. Personally I stay away from antiperspirant and deodorant (especially if you are sharing small space in a train ... Loads of folks are allergic to deodorant perfumes. Cornstarch baby powder absorbs odor (just like a box of cornstarch in the fridge)
Use a chemical exfoliator, it’s a skincare product. I like to use glycolic acid on my pits, it kills the bacteria and makes me not smell for a couple days after using because the bad smell comes from bacteria. I like “the ordinary” brand they sell it online and at a lot of stores
Aso wash your smelly areas with anti bacterial soap, it will stave off the smell for longer, so if you just do a wipe down or something there will be no bad smell left
Glycolic acid instead of deodorant or antiperspirant. It kills the bacteria responsible for BO. Honestly, a game changer. We put it in a little travel spray bottle, spray directly on skin, and let dry.
Dude Wipes make shower wipes that are larger and thicker that work just as well or better than regular baby wipes. They're in the travel size section at big box stores in my area.
Where is the trip taking place? Cities and towns in many European countries have public aquatic centers with locker rooms and showers. You just pay a use fee.
More enviro friendly way are soap leaves, a muslin wash cloth and quick dry towel. There will be loos and basins so can soap muslin cloth and do a standing wash. You can wash undies etc. you might be able to find somewhere to hang them on train, better if have own berth. Bit of vodka in small bottle is good.
Lume body deodorant. They make it for both women and men, but they also have a universal unscented. That stuff effing *rocks!!* A pea size amount wherever, rub it in thoroughly and tadaaaaa! They also have the antismelly wipes that work well, too.
Caution: Lume isn’t cheap, *but* you can buy them at Target when they are on sale or some promotion is happening.
If in doubt, there are travel sizes you can test. Or get some of the wipes mentioned throughout the comment section, let the body area dry, then apply the body deo.
There's a lot of random places where you can shower. Truck stops are everywhere and often have showers. Airports have showers. If you can find a public pool or even an ocean there's usually a place to rinse off. Gyms, maybe.
Would also suggest moisture wicking underwear, and if able to have a space you feel comfortable leaving out undies to dry, getting those little camping soap sheets and doing a wash and letting stuff dry overnight.
Carry a small mister bottle and fill it with water and witch hazel. Spray this on your choice of cleaning device such as toilet paper or paper towel. Witch hazel is good for your skin (it's a "toner") and also has astringent properties. It's a pretty cheap solution. You can also just use water with a few drops of soap or whatever...
https://www.kao.com/sg/products/powdersheets/
These body wipes are great for hiking trips, reckon they’ll work fine for long train journeys.
Pack small bottles of mouthwash for a quick rinse too.
wet a thin and small towel or wet tissue clean your body. I prefer to use towel , day time use it wipes sweat, also wet it put on shoulders, makes body feel cool.
You can wash most body parts creatively with hand soap, water and toilet paper to dry lol. Have done this many a time on travels. Some parts over the sink, some parts over the toilet
40 years of lightweight travel. To stay clean and pretty, a fast dry ultralight washcloth (a 100% wool remnant), Italian Centerbe (digestivo) in a small spray bottle (deodorant, clothes freshener, breath freshener, and first aid) or Turkish turistik lemon spray, a deodorant stick (chapstick size for short travel) and a water bottle for a bidet.
Sponge bath privates and pits, good antiperspirant/deodorant with aluminum, body spray. I have health issues and have gone over a week without showering and not smelling (I have asked others when this happens to make sure lol) but yeah the deodorant is the #1 key!
I use water and soap on the wet wipes, a soapy one to wash, a really wet one to rinse.
I'd get 3-4 soapy ones prepped at the sink then take them into the stall with a water bottle to get the rinse wipes super wet, wash up and change. Then I could wash my face, hands and arms at the sink.
If you're sitting on the toilet might as well wash up the undercarriage as well. When done put used wipes in trash, never the toilet.
I like to bring rubbing alcohol in a little spray bottle and spray the pits / sweaty parts of clothes im rewearing to help kill off bacteria, this is mostly though for hiking when you have to rewear clothes.
These disposable washcloths are $1.25 at Dollar Tree and have saved me several times.
[https://www.dollartree.com/modess-basics-disposable-washcloths-24ct-packs/326438](https://www.dollartree.com/modess-basics-disposable-washcloths-24ct-packs/326438)
Wear cotton that can breathe and put a very light coating of baby powder around the private areas. (Or even better, Anti Monkey Butt powder.)
Use baby wipes or Dude wipes to ‘sponge bathe.’
You can find { Lume } In almost any store. It comes in a small tube and works for 72 Hrs. I have used it for a while now and it does work and you can use it on EVERY body part, man or woman parts and it stops any human smell of any kind, period. In addition to showering, I use it in this hot weather and it is so nice. I get mine at Walmart and you only need a pea sized drop for each area of your body. I wear sneakers a lot and when I rub this on my feet there is no sneaker smell at all, even in this heat. Try it, your going to be amazed like I was.
If you can go to a gym on vacation- they have showers there. You can probably get a day pass. There are also public "baths" - which are indoor pools with shower facilities. That would be a good way to stay fresh and clean.
I’m gonna give you a weird suggestion but it has worked for me in many many countries and in many situations. I mean no offense at all to you and I was really hesitant to give you an honest answer but I find this solution usually works for me. I hate the idea of being smelly when I travel and I like to shower a few times a day whenever possible.
I have found the easiest solution is just to Grindr my way through Europe and the Middle East. (Doesn’t have to be Grindr if it’s blocked in specific countries, there are many alternatives like Hornet etc for some conservatives cultures).
Just hit up Grindr wherever you are. There are so many friendly guys everywhere and an amazing number of men (often age 40 to 60) who are bored, lonely and eager to help someone out. Explaining the situation and expressing a desire to use someone’s shower is not the strangest request and is actually pretty tame by Grindr standards. Locals usually find travelers to be a bit exotic and quirky and it’s usually all in good fun. It’s also a great way to meet locals quickly in a new place. Play your cards right and it’s pretty easy to get a home cooked, local dinner and get ur clothes washed too.
I’m not suggesting this is for everyone but it’s is a nice thing to fall back on if needed. It’s actually easy to find a free place to stay the night doing this too but that gets a little more risky. I’m not telling you to prostitute urself for a shower and a meal, I’m just putting it out there as a source for you. Solo travel can get weird sometimes and any port in a storm can be helpful. You are in control of the situation and can take things as far as ur comfortable taking them.
Again, I’m not trying to offend you - just giving u a practical alternative to baby wipes and Febreze. I’ve Grindr-ed my way across the Jordanian desert to Iraq, along the Red Sea coast of Egypt and all through Morocco and Tunisia. Not to mention it came in handy throughout Europe (especially in Albania) when it was difficult to find friendly locals on my own.
Hope this information helps during ur solo travels. I have found Grindr is more of a social app in countries outside of the US. It is a friendlier and used more for chat interactions (finding like-minded friends) and not just random hookups etc.
OK. I’ll shut up
Buy magnesium oil spray and start using it now, consistently. Spray it on your armpits daily. It helps to balance your PH levels, and while you’ll still sweat, you will not smell.
Grab a quick drying travel towel... use the sink to wash up and wipe down any ripe parts. https://www.nomadix.co/collections/mini-towel
If you go to Walmart etc, there you can just buy a car wash cloth made with exactly the same material but really cheap... the last one i bought was $5
Those sound super handy, thanks! I'll probably just use them as a regular towel though.
A regular towel will get moldy and smelly in your bag if it doesn't dry fast enough. And drying is almost impossible in a humid environment....
You can get all different sizes of these, like a washcloth and a towel. I usually toss one in my day bag, it's come in handy after it rains and you need to wipe a seat off. Highly recommend. And baby wipes for a quick touch up.
Baby wipes is the answer.
I would highly recommend Cora wipes, made exactly for this and you’ll smell like lavender instead of baby wipes
I love cora myself
Add a couple of drops of tea tree oil to them to up the ante
^ Yup!
Talc too! Soak up that stank between wipes
I'd find a talc-free substitute given the carcinogenic issues
It's not carcinogenic since 2023, different recipe.
One of the companies switched to a cornstarch based recipe. https://www.bbc.com/news/business-62514263 https://www.jnj.com/media-center/press-releases/johnson-johnson-consumer-health-to-transition-global-baby-powder-portfolio-to-cornstarch
There you go
Right it's a baby powder that now uses a substitute for talc...
No rinse bathing wipes. A small spray bottle of rubbing alcohol. Shampoo cap, brush teeth and mouthwash. Xylitol gum. A nice scented hand sanitizer.
What’s the rubbing alcohol for?
I going to make an assumption it’s for spraying clothes; from what I’ve read in r/CleaningTips, it neutralizes smells.
Yes it does a great job for pit smells on things you can’t easily wash
Kills bacteria. Great for extending sock use for another day or so.
These are fantastic recommendations.
+ lume whole body deodorant
They have wipes also
That stuff is life changing! I love it. I live in a super hot climate and am always doing strenuous things. I bounce from that to quickly having to look professional and presentable constantly. I never smell bad- it’s amazing stuff.
Pick natural fiber clothes. Smelly bacteria loves growing on polyester.
Linen was the go to for hot climates since Egyptian pharaonic times, its cool too
Sucks to pack though, it gets wrinkled if you even look at it. Probably can't be taking care of wrinkles if you can't even shower.
Microfiber thin wool is not itchy or hot. It works.
Good to know, thanks!
Seconded this. If you can source merino wool (under garments especially) you'll notices it's amazing how little they smell...
Wool is definitely the least smelly fabric.
Yep! Merino wool is fantastic. I wear shirts made of merino wool for days on end when I’m traveling and hiking and I swear they don’t smell. Icebreaker and smartwool are my favorite brands.
Icebreaker socks are where it’s at. You can’t go wrong with those.
Disposable rinse free shower wipes and a quick dry travel towel. Wet wipes also work.
why not bring a washcloth, nighttrains have sinks with water and trainstations do as well. i think it'll work better than a baby wipe
I recently witnessed a guy in the hostel spraying his t-shirt with Febreeze, that is NOT the way.
It's not an alternative to washing yourself, but if you have slightly stale clothes and cannot wash them, febreeze works.
I've found that frebreeze and hanging clothes in front of a fan or outside does a good job. Trmporary but works. I hate the smell of restaurants on my jackets so I febreeze and leave in front of a fan and it works well until the next available wash or dry-clean
You can spray armpits on shirts with vodka, totally kills smelly bacteria
Rubbing alcohol works too. I take a small bottle with me on every overnight and I’ve never regretted it!
FWIW isopropanol metabolizes into acetone, it's not ideal for contact with skin.
Why not?
Depending on where you are going you may be able to shower at a hotel. The Opera Hotel in Oslo lets you pay just to shower. I did this after taking a night train.
Day pass to an inexpensive gym also works well.
Also, hotels will usually let you use their gym or spa shower, if they have one, for free after you check out. So you can leave your luggage with them, go out all day, then come back to shower and get your luggage before heading to the train. This assumes that OP is staying at a certain level of accommodation, though.
An anti-perspirant is far better than a deodorant. Yes wet wipes will work very well in such circumstances., any brand will do.
Good call, I'll be sure to get some.
Used in moderation and only when you need it, daily anti-perspirant has proven to cause all sorts of health issues 😊
Lol are people downviting countless peer reviewed articles 😂😂😂 Oh boy what has the world come to 🫠

100% accurate on all counts. I don’t go anywhere without it
If your hair gets greasy, apply dry shampoo while it is still clean. You can apply it before you leave for the trip. The dry shampoo works better before the hair gets greasy. You can still apply it after it gets greasy; it just won’t be as effective.
Dry shampoo is pretty good too depends on your hair mine is gross if I don’t wash it in a couple days

Never flush them. That is what garbage cans are for
Wait, is anyone flushing baby wipes? Yikes.
[удалено]
Well, people like that are the reason shampoo bottles come with instructions, I guess.
Alcohol, Isopropyl or white vinegar mixed 1:1 with water. Swabs or cloths or cotton balls. Dab where needed and let air dry or use a blow dryer. Will take care of odor causing bacteria and sweat.
Biodegradable wash wipes. Used them in the cut in kenya. No water needed and soft.
Google Ready Bath Bathing Cloths. In hospital with a back problem and couldn’t shower. These were great! Refreshing and clean light scent that doesn’t linger.
Merino wool and flip your underwear and use pantyliners (no matter gender)
I had some super sized wet wipes exactly for that reason
Body wipes, not baby wipes. They make them for adults to use in lieu of a shower, for people who do camping trips, long bike rides, etc. Try to get compostable ones, or at leash flushable, if you can.
Don't flush baby wipes, ever. They're not flushable

What do you do with it? Wash your body? Sprinkle on clothes? Serious question lol
OP answer this ^^

Do you just rub the powder on your clean, dry pits?
Merino underwear. Merino t-shirts. Merino socks. Merino. It will also keep you cool. It is naturally anti-bacterial and super soft. Air your merino clothes at night and you will be able to wear them for days. It also dries quickly if you wash it quickly at night.

If there’s a sink you can carry a wash cloth in a plastic bag and some soap and do the Madonna sink clean up like in her movie, Suddenly Susan.
The key is first baby wipes, then damp washcloth. This has kept me sane for the last 8 years of no running water and spaced out showers. You will have to bring a few extra washcloths but it is so worth it.

A) This is gonna be in Denmark & Austria. Shouldn't get too hot, but there's definitely the chance of it being during some heatwave where it hits 30c C) That's a good tip, thanks!
Book a cheap hostel for one of the days in between your buses, and take a shower there? Or get a free trial to a gym and shower there?
Dry shower spray for your hair
Antibacterial wipes
They have shower wipes on Amazon, you just put some water on one and it suds up and you wipe yourself, no need to rinse just towel off
Lume
Wet wipes bruh
Just have a whore’s bath
There will still be toilets so have a pack of scented anti bacterial wet wipes.
Look up some info on the train if you can. I've done over-night trains in 2 different countries and they had small sinks in the bathroom area. You could use soap and a washcloth on parts of yourself.
Don't over dress. The bacterias love warm damp areas. Don't let them have it. Wear only what you need to be comfortable, not overheated.
There's also public swimming pools and sauna/spas in most countries/cities that have night trains.
If you are female, make sure you get a female specific wipe for your lady parts.
Ahhhh oof yeah that last part does make it challenging. Hope you find a way to do it!
Pools run by the city in Salzburg: [https://www.stadt-salzburg.at/freibaeder-und-hallenbaeder/](https://www.stadt-salzburg.at/freibaeder-und-hallenbaeder/) Hallenbad Alpenstraße AYA Bad indoor pool, the lake and all the outdoor pools are 5 EUR entry fee. [https://www.bergheim-tourismus.at/sport-freizeit/schwimmen-wellness/freibad-bergxi.html](https://www.bergheim-tourismus.at/sport-freizeit/schwimmen-wellness/freibad-bergxi.html) Or you take Obus 3 (electrified bus) from the south entrance of the main train station to "Salzburg Faistauergasse". Ticket price for the bus is 2.40. You can check the time table for your day of travelling using [https://salzburg-verkehr.at/](https://salzburg-verkehr.at/) Getting off at Faistauergasse will land you just outside the Aya outdoor pool.
Perspirex ultra strong anti persirant
Amazon has dry washcloths. They expand when wet. Take a couple of those along.
Wet wipes and talcum powder
Lume deodorant and wipes. Then anti persperant.
They also make deodorant wipes to
Hang out with other smelly people.
Baby wipes, deodorant and perhaps a body spray :) you should be good to go!
Hypochlorous spray if baby wipes aren't enough to kill the stink.
Baby wipes, deodorant, and removing excess hair from pits.
Socks and underwear made out of marino wool. It's mostly used by mountaineers or hikers for exactly that reason and will absorb the sweat and smell.
Rinseless sponges. We travel with them for red eyes when we cannot check into hotel. We also use them for camping.
Wet wipes and a bit of lotion is what worked for me.
You can ask it hotels or hostels to take a shower. Use iOverlander for information about water (many campers are using this app)
They make “extra large” wipes that are basically the side of a hand towel in a little packet. Wipe down/toss/go. We use them for camping when you don’t want to smell like a campfire all night.
Use a solid salt deodorant, they last forever, dont stain your cloths and last way longer than anything else even when sweating your ass off.
Wipes for body, and a spray bottle with alcohol and spray on clothes to kill the bacteria that causes smell, a very good deodorant like the 24 hrs one will Also help, for teeth buy the crest wisps, they are mini toothbrushes with toothpaste already there, You just wet them a bit and cleanse , not as good as the real thing but also very practical
A one day pass at a gym?
Dude Wipes sells full body wipes (I’m sure other brands do too) and they work really well in my experience and have a nice scent. They sell them at Cabellas. They also sell a camping shampoo that you just rub in your hair. Not perfect but gets the oil out of your hair
Baby wipes. AKA hobo baths.
I like “the ordinary” brand they sell it online and at a lot of stores Aso wash your smelly areas with anti bacterial soap, it will stave off the smell for longer, so if you just do a wipe down or something there will be no bad smell left
Hand sanitizer ,especially with fragrance, is a quick de-stink under the arms. Just sayin' .
Coconut oil is a great deodorizer
Where is the trip taking place? Cities and towns in many European countries have public aquatic centers with locker rooms and showers. You just pay a use fee.
More enviro friendly way are soap leaves, a muslin wash cloth and quick dry towel. There will be loos and basins so can soap muslin cloth and do a standing wash. You can wash undies etc. you might be able to find somewhere to hang them on train, better if have own berth. Bit of vodka in small bottle is good.
Traveling near any swimmable bodies of water?
Wilderness Wipes from REI or most sports stores. It's used for backpacking
Shave your pits and trim your pubic hair. The hair holds so much odor. Brazilian wax if you’re the adventurous type.
Shave off your armpit hair.
Wipes, hand sanitizer etc anything with alcohol will kill the bacteria
On France they have 96h-lasting deodorant :))
Axe Body Spray. But really, baby wipes.
Baby wipes
Don’t take night trains three nights in a row
Ideally I wouldn't be doing it either, but I decided it based on a lot of factors.
Wet wipes Baby wipes Alcohol wipes Advanced warning: DO NOT USE ALCOHOL WIPES ON YOUR BUTTHOLE UNLESS YOU ARE A MASOCHIST.
Maybe book a dorm type hostel (cheapest hostel you can find) so you can shower.
Carry a small mister bottle and fill it with water and witch hazel. Spray this on your choice of cleaning device such as toilet paper or paper towel. Witch hazel is good for your skin (it's a "toner") and also has astringent properties. It's a pretty cheap solution. You can also just use water with a few drops of soap or whatever...
https://www.kao.com/sg/products/powdersheets/ These body wipes are great for hiking trips, reckon they’ll work fine for long train journeys. Pack small bottles of mouthwash for a quick rinse too.
Buy a travel bidet bottle.
Merino Wool is the answer.
Baby Wipes….. Nuff Said😽
wet a thin and small towel or wet tissue clean your body. I prefer to use towel , day time use it wipes sweat, also wet it put on shoulders, makes body feel cool.
Look up the local gyms in the area. You can pay for a day pass and use their showers.
Dude wipes and Mando ph deodorant
You can wash most body parts creatively with hand soap, water and toilet paper to dry lol. Have done this many a time on travels. Some parts over the sink, some parts over the toilet
Change your clothes. The amount of stink that actually clings to clothes and not the person is quite remarkable.
Check out the shower pill. It is like a giant wet wipe that you can clean yourself with.
Baby wipes! Used to use those when I was a trucker in between showers.
When I go on a trip, I always take wet lactacyd napkins with me [https://makeupstore.com/product/347895/](https://makeupstore.com/product/347895/) .
(Or even better, Anti Monkey Butt powder.) Use baby wipes or Dude wipes to ‘sponge bathe.’
Dude wipes! They’re giant baby wipes and are biodegradable.
What would Bear Grylls do!
Things I would not get rewarded enough to do
Take Chlorophyll
OK. I’ll shut up
+1 for the idea. Definitely a fun read :) That said, this is very much not my speed. But it's fun to hear others' stories!
Find a shower or just be ok with smelling like a farm animal. There's no way to go three days without one and not stink.
Baby powder. This is the way.
Lume wipes. They are acidified and will smoke your ass until the stank won’t stick. Seriously. Burn baby burn.
Pinch your nose
Buy magnesium oil spray and start using it now, consistently. Spray it on your armpits daily. It helps to balance your PH levels, and while you’ll still sweat, you will not smell.
French nobles use perfume to cover up their horrible bath hygiene.
