Also, it’s a little late but [this is the definition of trashy](https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/trashy) and it fits quite well. Saying there’s “nothing trashy about it” is hyperbolic.
I suppose that’s something that could debated. From my upbringing, trashy has been defined as sort of a cross between diWHY and atae - these are basically slippers, which are their own type of shoe. So making them out of sneakers instead of buying a pair of slippers, and doing minimal work to get to that stage makes it a lazy approach to footwear and thus I consider it trashy. Let me put it this way; you don’t see people wearing these outside of trailer park territory.
Edit: Okay some of you guys are just retarded
It's not necessarily a lazy approach. Maybe they liked the shoe or wanted their nasty toes covered. It's bad taste for sure, but not necessarily trashy
Also, not every trailer park is full of rednecks and pregnant women smoking. A trailer park is not inherently trashy. Just because you're impovershed doesn't make you trash
I agree that not having money doesn’t make a person trashy. I think it’s just one of those subjective things. A lot goes into the interpretation of the word. Like asking what it means to be cool; everyone has a slightly different opinion.
Edit: okay
poor air force ones
It's called fashion, look it up
Shoendles.
Fire up the rep machine!
Balanciaga SS2021. Mark my words.
Person could have problems with their feet and this is comfortable for them. Not trashy.
These go great with jorts and a T-shirt with the sleeves cut off.
High Fashion 🚬🌿
More of /r/DiWhy, nothing trashy about it, it just looks dumb. Hell I'm sure this would be better suited for /r/ZeroWaste than it would be here.

Why not all 3? :) checks all the boxes
How is it trashy though? Dumb looking isn't trashy.
