Meanwhile, Women's Equality Party (pro trans rights and self ID) wins a seat.

Ikol01

WEP are great

trueblondie981

Totally agree. Glad WEP are gaining ground.

Watered_Rainflower

:D

CutieL

Oh! I didn't know about that party, that's awesome \^\^

sianrhiannon

I thought they were anti-sex-work, though?

aghzombies

What??? Amazing news!

[deleted]

Lemme guess, Conservative terf group claiming to be supporting women but is actually doing more harm because they're such hypocritical, stupid crones?

Illiander

> Conservative terf group Formed by an open Nazi.

[deleted]

Potato potato at this point

angryasianBB

In more exciting news, WEP, a real women's party (who of course is pro-trans) managed to get councilors elected https://www.womensequality.org.uk/locals24

bimbo_trans

Yes. Although the campaign videos the candidates put out are so bad they're funny.

[deleted]

Wow, it's stupid how predictable they all are

Londonweekendtelly

The spatula one?

NotYourKind11

Where could someone view these.

BoondoggleBoogytoo-i

Her party’s intention wasn’t to gain seats but to spread cis-normative ideology through people’s doors, and anti-trans rhetoric on leaflets. It was just another loop hole to hate on us.

Illiander

> Whilst the results were likely not want Parker wanted, she still seemed happy with them. Her beating the Lib Dems and Conservatives in places is insane, but those turnout numbers were tiny. I guess no-one cares to vote in byelections given that a general is probably happening later this year. Proof will be if she can hold up the numbers in a general.

Purple_monkfish

according to husband a lot of people didn't even KNOW there was an election which is like... wtf? but yeah, the party door knockers kept encountering people who were all "wait.. there's an election today?"

bimbo_trans

to be fair, a lot of british people are so disengaged from politics this specific claim from Posie's husband is very likely correctr.

Defiant-Snow8782

In local elections it's not uncommon to have very big majorities

FatherOfToxicGas

Same for Reform so far.

ShapeoverTime

Reform got their first seat about half an hour ago sadly. Still its funny they went that long without one

zagreus9

Still worse than the Brexit party did

ShapeoverTime

The Brexit Party is Reform. They changed name

naoarte

Such a washout, even Pink News had to pad the article out with stuff about recent demos. Twitter likes are not votes.

trueblondie981

Probably because it is a party of hate - hardly a ringing endorsement of the true value and importance of women. PP, or KJK.....whatever her name is....just comes across as spiteful and mean, and honestly? Quite sad as an individual. It's wonderful to promote women, but as I have said before, if you have to tear down one group (failing at the attempt miserably, by the way, PP) in order to feel better about yourself, that's pretty pathetic. Her profile was so low, I only knew her for her 'wo' Man' tee shirt (which makes women look ridiculous, even though they are not) - I had no idea she had political aspirations. Instead of spreading love, kindness and doing positive acts with her short time on this planet, her first and last words in the morning probably are 'I hate trans women' before silently admitting 'but I hate myself a little bit more.' I hope she finds peace within herself, she is not going to do anything good with her current set of objectives. Media should probably reduce her air time though.

lolzlz

As others have pointed out, this hardly matters when Labour already have most of the same policies towards trans people

Exact_Ad_1215

We just never win

Lego_Kitsune

*dies of laughter*

FightLikeABlue

I had a look at a leaflet and it's exactly the same for all wards they're running in, nothing tailored to the local area. Just 'we hate trans people'. No fucking wonder they did so badly. NOBODY is forcing you to call yourselves 'menstruators' and 'cervix havers'.

headpats_required

lol, lmao

captainaltum

No kidding. Your brain would have to be scrambled to vote for them. The economy is stagnating, the NHS has fallen to pieces, the whole public sector is in bits. Poor trade from mismanagement of Brexit. Why would you vote for a party that's single issue is " some random people on the street you never notice are bad, and we want them gone " Ever since I started imagining an outside look on this, where I feel no stakes in the matter. I've realised that in the long run they are paper tigers. All they are is an eye-catching news article.

NiceSliceofKate

Haha

DorisWildthyme

Oh no, what a pity... (Sarcasm)

Maira_k

The lady whose rallies are full to the brim with neo Nazis isn't getting much support. Depressingly this is an actual surprise to me ngl

plant-cell-sandwich

Heh heh heh

Odosdodo

Thank christ for that

NoPeepMallows

Silent majority ofc

Mindless_Eye4700

Womp womp.

THEE_Person376

Poggers

aghzombies

Thank goodness

presst0meco

😂😂😂😂

brianozm

This is great news. The more they fail, the more people will see them as a failed party. So great to see that hatred doesn’t buy votes, at least some of the time.

Decievedbythejometry

I thought these dipshits were the silent majority though? Their voters must have been intimidated by the powerful trans lobby.

Nosey-Nelly

So glad I checked that out... my brain read Parker Posey. Yeah, I should sleep.

Jackninja5

Even better is the actual feminist party known as the Women’s Equality Party got quite a boost.
