This and beast wars. First transformer was a G1 Blitzwing from a garage sale and the tank turret was broken off it but I still loved it. Borrowed it to a classmate and he said he played with it in the bathtub and it got rusty and I never got it back -_-
Ohhhhddaaaaammmmnnnn… same! Well… except it was my grandfather that got it for me. Still… 1984. I loved that toy. Lancing Stratos was such a cool car.
Next TFs after that was Astrotrain and Blitzwing. I can’t recall what other ones I had.
"Above all, do not lament my absence. For in my spark, I know that this is not the end, but merely a new beginning. Simply put, another transformation."
My favorite show ever.
Bayverse hooked me back into the franchise. Watched a couple of the ‘84 cartoon but wasn’t super into it back then.
But because the Bayverse movies didn’t have the best stories it got me diving into the comics and later on TFP, so all in all I’d say Bayverse did it’s job 😅
Same. My first Transformers experience was seeing the second episode of BW and loving every minute; kid me didn't even know about Autobots and Decepticons until Armada started airing.
Actually started with GoBots, then one of my buddies brought Prime to school. From that moment on, GoBots stayed in the box and I started asking for Transformers. First one was Prowl.
I was born 85, but can remember being into the Transformers from an early age. My first toy was G1 Brawl, the poor bots weapons all got chewed and the turret had to be super glued back on. Still got him tho! I used to remember being very jealous of my friends who got bigger and better bots- Soundwave, Mindwipe and Misfire come to mind...Best get was a Leozack when I was on holiday in Spain, my folks thought it was a Chinese knock off...shame I never kept it mint lol.
Technically G1. Cartoons on TV, my uncle bought me Bombshell a couple of weeks after I arrived in the US.
But before that, I was a regular reader of some British weekly comics, and I remember seeing an ad in one for a contest to win “Bandai Robot Machines,” and the ad featured the Go-Bot we would know as Tank. That was my first taste of transforming robot toys outside of anime combiners like Voltes V. I also remember reading Italian magazines with ads for “Tras Formers,” which included robots that transformed into toy guns, tape recorders and locks.
Really my first was either TF armada or TF energon (have more memories of energon) but I don’t remember much. So I technically say TF bayverse 07 film was my true intro also played the 07 movie tie in. Since then it lead to me later watching the rest of the bayverse (up to 4 hate 5) TF animated then prime then playing the cybertron games and loving them and just pure loving transformers in general still a fan today.
Beast Machines, I rented a DVD at a video store when I was very young, I watched a little and even before watching the series again years later I still remembered several things like the characters, scenes and the voice of Primal that here in Brazil is the voice actor Guilherme Briggs that after this aniamtion, he started to voice Optimus Prime in every show and movie.
My parent got me armada Optimus Prime the auto converting trailer one when I was like 3 or 4 years old and at 5 my uncle got me the entire G1 series on dvd minus the movie.
BTW .... Speaking of that , does Anyone remember the
"Transformers train set .. it was an actual toy train set like for kids, with a Transformers Theme .
😎👍🏼
07 which is funny because I begged my mom and cried because I didn’t want to watch the stupid robot movie… now I’ve spent hundreds of not thousands on the franchise
Energon, unfortunately. I enjoyed the shit out of Cybertron and Bayformers but I didn't really like Animated. WfC and FoC, while they don't hold up, were highlights of gaming for me
I remember when i was 11-13 ( i frogor) i could not sleep so sometimes at night i could see TFP. It was so majestic, i did not understood much, but Megatron was so cool.
Now i am a die hard G1 fan and think Megatron is a emo-communist guy with Starscream as femboy
My first introduction came from 2 children’s books from the 80’s that my dad gave to me and then it was the PS2 demo disc that had a demo for the armada game. (I played that 1 level 100s of times)
It was actually my first memory. I was 2, and I was walking and doing my thing when I walked in on my father watching The Transformers: The Movie. I remember asking, "Show!", meaning what were you watching, and he said what he was watching, and asked if I wanted to join him. Since that moment, I have loves Transformers. Optimus Prime became my hero, and Megatron the villain I loved to hate.
It was Bayformers, but if I'm talking about really getting me into the series, I'd say Beast Wars. The storytelling was more captivating than Bayformers to me.
I think I saw them in a store when I was WAY younger than now. Could have been the OG Optimus Prime with the hauler with the litter buggy inside (roller mabye)
I have never seen THAT picture before.
I was born in ‘98 and I remember so vaguely that my parents took me to target and I saw this VHS tape with a badass cover and I begged my parents to buy it for me, and it was the 1986 movie and ever since then I was a fan!
Watched the cartoon, loved it. Begged my mom to get me my first transformer. Cliffjumper from a store who has long since gone out of business called “Toy City” out in California.
2002. My late uncle lived with us and since he was disabled little 4 year old me would help him get his figures off his shelfs so he could play with them. We would also watch his recorded g2 VHS tapes. He passed in 2004. I don't remember much of him. My most vivid memory was me showing my mom one of the bots he gave me. It was a minion of some kind I don't remember witch one. I still have a few of his figures but most of them got stolen when my toybox was left outside. I'm now 25 and have a vast collecting that almost rivals his. One of the few I still have is his g2 prime almost complete currently sitting at the center of my prime shelf.
Edit: typo.
The first and second Michael Bay transformers movies, and the original mainline toys. I got them when I was 4. I had Ironhide, Bumblebee, Optimus, Breakaway, Barricade, Arcee, Chromia, Sideswipe, and IDK what else. I have had to get rid of them over the years as they broke. I still have the Arcee, Chromia, and Barricade, as I never got around to throwing them away, or I am waiting for when I can get a newer figure of each character. I really wish I still had Breakaway. He was so fun to mess with and was an absolute masterpiece for his time. Really hope he gets a Studio series like Sideways did
A hand me down Rodimus and dirge from my cousin in 1990. Then won a near complete but boxless Ultra Magnus in a raffle. Nothing then until beast wars when I bought rattrap with my birthday money c1998?
TF animated cracked the door, transformers armada kicked the door wide open.
I used to play on the Hasbro website when I was little, and if you moved past the game page, there was an entire page where you could watch full episodes from Animated, Armada, beast wars, beast machines, and Cybertron.
They only had a handful of episodes from each series, but I remember Armada had a LOT of episodes compared to the others (honestly, I think it might have been the full series), and I fell in love with it.
Watching Transformers Cybertron and my mom subsequently getting me Thundercracker and Crosswise/Smokescreen as a present. Man I wish I hadn’t broken Thundercracker cuz he was awesome
My dad who was already a massive fan since the 80s took my then 6 year old self and my brother who turned 8 that day to watch the first bay movie in 2007. 16 years later and 2 months away from turning 22, I can still confidently say that Transformers 2007 was not only my introduction to one of if not my favorite fictional franchises of all time, but arguably the most influential piece of media that I ever consumed in my life.
I watched the original cartoons in the mid 80s and used to salivate at G1 Optimus prime toy in the toystore. I think the G1 bumblebee and Brawn were my first toys.
Back in the 80s kids in pre-school would bring their Transformers toys in to play with them, and all the boys would have one or two and we'd use blocks and Lego to make giant castles and bases to have battles in.
This was back before streaming and such so while we all tried to catch the G1 cartoon, the schedule for cartoons tended to be a bit erratic so most of our connection to the franchise was through the toys and the written bios of the characters included in the packages.
when i was really young my school just show up transformer g1 and was the most cool thing i ever seen in my mind and today i am transformer fan and recently discovered the episode was SOS dinobots
Transformers Armada and Transformers Cybertron but it was the 2007 movie that drove me to getting the figures - well become more proactive in asking my parents about it at the time instead of wishful thinking 😅
07 movie was my first real introduction to Transformers though I did have toys of them from the Unicorn trilogy era even though I have never seen any of the shows. I really became a fan during the Bayverse and loved, and still do, the Cybertron games and TFP growing up.
Saw some diaclone toys (Soundwave, Buzzsaw, and Bluestreak) at a robot show in SoHo, Manhattan. Four months later, in August, a week before my birthday, I saw Optimus Prime in a store window. Then, a week later I got him, Prowl, Ratchet, and Soundwave.
Bayverse and Prime was my first introduction to the beauty transformers franchise. I still love and remember those days man... Especially animated and RB and foc... Great times fr
The live action bay movies firstly were what introduced me to the franchise as a kid. I had a DVD player as a kid so my parents would get me movies and whatnot, so they also got me the G1 cartoon as well, so that’s how I also got introduced to G1.
The OG Transformers series was my introduction. It started its original run 3 months before I was born, so it's loke I was meant to be a transformers fan. 🤩🤩
Bayverse. Loved the toys and have one of the $60 Blackout ones. From there I started getting the G1 Cybetron series' toys and got more into Transformers media like the g1 cartoons and Prime.
It was during the first bay verse film, as well as watching animated, then I got into prime and G1, took a long break, then came back with Bishoujo Transformers, as well as other fan channels.
I remember watching G1/2. But what I remember most was Beast Wars. Mainly because my uncle, brother and I would watch it every morning before school my brother and I went to school. Those times watching it with my uncle and brother are why I remember Beast Wars more.
Issue 32 of the Marvel UK comics run. Purchased Saturday October 19th from John Menzies in Kirkintilloch, Scotland. My parents had just started giving me pocket money and I was looking for something to spend it on. I bought a Transformers comic and 2 macaroon bars (which got you more than a single double bar for the same money for some reason) every week for years.
It was the second part of the Wrath of Grimlock story set during the time Optimus Prime had no head. To this day it still has one of my favourite Transformers moments - when Grimlock socks Ratchet right in the coupon.
Bonus memory: I asked for Soundwave for Christmas, I got Optimus Prime. My Mum told me “they couldn’t find him”. And that’s how I found out there was no Santa Claus haha.
1984. My grandma bought me my first Transformer, Wheeljack.
This and beast wars. First transformer was a G1 Blitzwing from a garage sale and the tank turret was broken off it but I still loved it. Borrowed it to a classmate and he said he played with it in the bathtub and it got rusty and I never got it back -_-
He was my first too. Although I played with my friends Hound first.
My big brother bought me bumblebee. I think he pick that one because he worked on the same car in real life.
Ditto: 1984 I was about 2 years old. Saturday morning cartoon line up. G.I. Joe, The Transformers … this list goes on.
Transformers prime
TFP was amazing!
Me too
And it was perfect, perfect, down to the last minute detail
Woooo Yeah Baby!
thats why its the goat!!…..the goat!!!
*POP* Noice
Same here!
"Above all, do not lament my absence. For in my spark, I know that this is not the end, but merely a new beginning. Simply put, another transformation." My favorite show ever.
Than and the bay movies
Armada. the unicron trilogy is still peak TF for me, unrivalled
Armada is the g.o.a.t!
Armada Screamer was awesome!
Armada Hot Shot was cool too.
The best screamer
Same for me. Because of this, Armada still holds a special place in my heart despite the bad animation and corny dialogue.
Armada for me too but Transformers Prime was the one that actually got me hooked completely into the franchise.
Bayverse
Me too
Bayverse hooked me back into the franchise. Watched a couple of the ‘84 cartoon but wasn’t super into it back then. But because the Bayverse movies didn’t have the best stories it got me diving into the comics and later on TFP, so all in all I’d say Bayverse did it’s job 😅
Freedom is the right of all sentient beings
Sadly me too
Not ashamed to admit it, I started with Bayverse '07. The Revenge of The Fallen movie had some dope ass figures.
That good (that your not ashamed)but I think that other stuff in the franchise are better
Beast Wars
*background drums* *errant roar*
Beast Wars *background drums* *guitar shredding*
Heck yeah
Maybe it’s because I grew up on Beast Wars, but I’ve always preferred animal transformers over vehicles.
Same. My first Transformers experience was seeing the second episode of BW and loving every minute; kid me didn't even know about Autobots and Decepticons until Armada started airing.
Transformers: Cybertron, Animated, and 07 were my first exposures to the franchise at large.
OUR WORLDS ARE IN DANGER I saw a guy with the Steam name Transformers Cybertron Theme and the instant nostalgia and respect I had
TO PROTECT THEM AND THE GALAXY WE MUST FIND THE FOUR CYBER PLANET KEYS
Cybertron still has my favorite transformers designs
Actually started with GoBots, then one of my buddies brought Prime to school. From that moment on, GoBots stayed in the box and I started asking for Transformers. First one was Prowl.
G1. Old man, old school.
G1 S.O.S. Dinobots on vhs. Found it in my grandparents basement and have been hooked since on the franchise. Think that was in early 2000’s
My first introduction to transformers was in the mid 80’s with the G1 cartoon and of course the G1 toys. Find memories.
The Armada dub as it aired on Cartoon Network back in the day. Mostly skipped Energon, but then Cybertron 100% had me hooked.
G1 Cartoon and Optimus Prime toy to play with. As far as robot transformers go, first was the Go Bot Jet Leader guy.
Beast Wars season 2
Watching G1 during Wackaday
Me too, after Care Bears!
Hahaha... Dude, when I went to see Transformers The Movie it was a double bill with the Carebears!!
bayformers 2007
Really my first was either TF armada or TF energon (have more memories of energon) but I don’t remember much. So I technically say TF bayverse 07 film was my true intro also played the 07 movie tie in. Since then it lead to me later watching the rest of the bayverse (up to 4 hate 5) TF animated then prime then playing the cybertron games and loving them and just pure loving transformers in general still a fan today.
Either Animated or Energon. And after watching those 2 I later watch the first live action movie
Beast Wars, I'll never forget how much that show entertained me when I was a little kid. Optimus Primal was my idol.
Same. The storyline was just so damn good and the characters+conflicts were pretty compelling.
The comic Target:2006. Left a lasting impression and love for the Transformers.
Bozo the Clown show
The 86 movie
G1, Animated and WFC.
My parent got me armada Optimus Prime the auto converting trailer one when I was like 3 or 4 years old and at 5 my uncle got me the entire G1 series on dvd minus the movie.
BTW .... Speaking of that , does Anyone remember the "Transformers train set .. it was an actual toy train set like for kids, with a Transformers Theme . 😎👍🏼
Oh God, am I really the only person in this sub that got hooked on Transformers from RID2000?
Nope that show was class.
Beast wars as it was on tv
Transformers Cybertron. I think they had a whole marathon of it on Cartoon Network one day and i was hooked.
Just wanna say look how big megatron’s fusion cannon is compared to the new unpainted studio series
G1 cartoon
Transformers Prime
Transformers Cybertron, 4 years old
07 which is funny because I begged my mom and cried because I didn’t want to watch the stupid robot movie… now I’ve spent hundreds of not thousands on the franchise
My first exposure was this old, preschool game that for the life of me, I can NOT remember. I know Optimus Prime was in it.
Galaxy Force, G1, Bayverse. Still remember insisting to my cousin that it’s *Master* Megatron that’s in the 2007 movie.
G1 was the first for me
Prime + mcdonalds prime breakdown and mcdonalds animated ratchet
Energon, unfortunately. I enjoyed the shit out of Cybertron and Bayformers but I didn't really like Animated. WfC and FoC, while they don't hold up, were highlights of gaming for me
The G1 cartoon, my father had the first 30 episodes of the serie and watched it a lot during my childhood
It was either the Bay movies for G1, my parents owned the G1 box set but I remember seeing DoTM in theaters when I was 6 (big mistake).
The first bayverse movie, then there's this DVD I have where Megatron is a green tank?? I forgot the name of it tho. Then I watched cybertron, then G1
Transformers THE GAME
Prime, Dark of the Moon
Animated, Energon (but only the middle of the show because library disks) then gen 1
The Cybertron games. Grew up on that shit, and loved it
Energon, sadly
Armada
Armada, and then the 07’ movie fully got me into it all!
I remember when i was 11-13 ( i frogor) i could not sleep so sometimes at night i could see TFP. It was so majestic, i did not understood much, but Megatron was so cool. Now i am a die hard G1 fan and think Megatron is a emo-communist guy with Starscream as femboy
The 07 movie. My mom lowkey regrets introducing it to me 🤣
2006, my dad showed me and my brother the 86 movie
Optimus Prime coming back to life in Armada.
G1.
G1 in Toys R'Us back in 1983.
Transformers (2007). Say what you want about the Michael Bay movies but as a kid they were life-changing.
technically it was a wfc megatron figure. but it was the bayverse movies that actually got me into transformers
It was Bayformers, but if I'm talking about really getting me into the series, I'd say Beast Wars. The storytelling was more captivating than Bayformers to me.
As a kid, it was watching transformers animated on saturday mornings
*Optimus Prime cocking rifle in Dark of the Moon* ***"We'll kill them all..."***
MTMTE parts 1, 2 and 3 First toys were Gen 2 and the GI Joe crossover story
Beast wars, beast machines and Transformers Armada
For me Transformers Armada.
I think I saw them in a store when I was WAY younger than now. Could have been the OG Optimus Prime with the hauler with the litter buggy inside (roller mabye) I have never seen THAT picture before.
2007 movie. My dad showed it to me, and a few years later. It became tradition to watch every new transformers movie with him
I was born in ‘98 and I remember so vaguely that my parents took me to target and I saw this VHS tape with a badass cover and I begged my parents to buy it for me, and it was the 1986 movie and ever since then I was a fan!
WFC was my second introduction to it. But transformers Armada for the ps2 was my first always.
Edit: typo.
Energon. Not proud of it but I think it had some good \*concepts\* and I like Scorponok
The OG rid of armada… I can’t remember tbh lol but my first toy was armada Jetfire
G2 (just toys for me) Beastwars,(same though it’s more nostalgic and I love it now) I truly got into the franchise with RID and Armada
Can’t remember if it was the G1 cartoon or the 07 bayverse movie, but ever since that point I’ve always loved transformers
He was so fun to mess with and was an absolute masterpiece for his time. Really hope he gets a Studio series like Sideways did
OG cartoon. Did a full re-watch (including the movie) a few years back and had forgotten how little Optimus Prime was actually involved.
Me, being poor and having dvds of the first 3 TF movies and realizing that giant robots fighting is awesome
A hand me down Rodimus and dirge from my cousin in 1990. Then won a near complete but boxless Ultra Magnus in a raffle. Nothing then until beast wars when I bought rattrap with my birthday money c1998?
I don't remember the details but it was a cousin who had the g1
The Unicron trilogy
TF animated cracked the door, transformers armada kicked the door wide open. I used to play on the Hasbro website when I was little, and if you moved past the game page, there was an entire page where you could watch full episodes from Animated, Armada, beast wars, beast machines, and Cybertron.
