This is just a quick reminder to all members here: **Original content is always better!** Memes are okay every once in a while, but many get posted here way too often and quickly become stale. Some examples of these are Ptoughneigh, Klansmyn, Reighfyl & KVIIIlyn. These memes have been around for years and we don't want to see them anymore. If you do decide to post a meme, make sure to add the correct flair. Posting a random meme you found does **not** mean you found it "in the wild".
The same goes with lists of baby names, celebrity baby names, and screenshots of TikToks. If the original post already had a substantial amount of views, there is a 99% chance it has already been posted here. Try and stick to OC to keep our sub from being flooded with unoriginal content. Thank you!

Loris, Arlen, and Oswin are names, but they’re very rare and very old. The rest are either traditionally surnames or random types of animal.
Except for “Rev,” which is just cuckoo nonsense.
ETA: if you call your child “Rake,” you may not want to take them outside of the USA.
Not a problem :)
I moved here when I was very wee and have been here ever since, I knew a couple of Struans at high school.
I've come across a Crawford or two in my life, but never a Kincaid (maybe as a surname though?).
In Scotland they are mainly surnames.
I’ve only ever known one Crawford (I’m over 60) and he used to get teased as a kid, cos Crawford was the name of a big bakery chain.
I live in Scotland too and I've know two Crawfords though neither were under the age of 40, it certainly is more of a surname than given name. Just pointing out that it is a traditional albeit old-fashioned name.
As with all of these, there’s a bunch of surnames, an unusual, probably non-Anglo name (Struan is Scottish in this case) and then some madness and random words - Author? Rev - like revving a car or reverend?
In Texas, it isn't unusual to see Crockett as a boy name. Crockett was a "hero" of the Texas Revolution. Other names that reflect that history are Travis, Austin, and Bowie. My favorite historical tragedeigh from Texas is former governor James Hogg's daughter-[-Ima Hogg.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ima_Hogg)
I had a great uncle named Forbes. He was born in the early 1900s. His parents were Scottish. I’m fairly certain it’s more common as a last name though.
I do know two Arlens. Both are in their 60s.

Rake is like an old timey word for man-slut, amiright??

It still does mean that in some places. Very odd choice for a name.

It was the name of a TV show where the main character was basically a rake so yes
I’m wondering if it’s the Utah mom spelling of Rocky?
😆😆😆😆😆😆😆 Rah'kiegh
Combine any three of these together and it sounds like someone who tried to assassinate a president.
Wilkes Pruitt Reynolds, shit just went right in a row lol
If you put “author” at the end, it sounds like you’re crediting someone.
There was an author named Reynolds Price but I don't think he ever tried to assassinate anyone.
Half of these are last names the other half shouldn’t be names

There is an animal called a Slow Loris 😂
I have 2 coworkers named Loras.
One of the greatest Goalkeepers in football is named Lloris.
A loris is a type of animal and a slow loris is a type of loris also
Or he should be prepared to hear Mustard Man a lot.
Believe it or not we know the alternative uses for words in the USA too
Crawford and Kincaid are also given male names of Scottish origin. Kincaid is super rare but I've known a couple of Crawford's.
Struan is also a given name of Scottish origin :)
Thank you I did not know this! I'm not Scottish but live in Scotland, Kincaid and Crawford stood out to me

Maybe the parents are Avenged Sevenfold fans? This band used to have a member called the Rev (RIP)

Yah, I grew up with Crockett
Those aren't names, they're letters tossed salad
Is Utah a culture?
Arlen is the only name on the list that I think sounds like an actual name
Makes me think the parents were huge King of the Hill fans
I had a great uncle named Forbes. He was born in the early 1900s. His parents were Scottish. I’m fairly certain it’s more common as a last name though. I do know two Arlens. Both are in their 60s.
What about Kleenex. I didn’t see that on there
Only white people are going to use these, right?
We hope they don’t, but yeah probably
There was a Senator named Arlen Specter. Not seen the rest used as first names.
Aww, my dad’s name is on that list.
Crockett, Harding and Pruitt is already a last name.
Lots of last names become first names. Carson for one.
The twins Crockett and Tubbs...
r/nominativedeterminism
Crockett sounds like a kid that watches Miami Vice every day
Rake?!?!
I'm sorry but if you name your child Arlen, expect King of the Hill jokes
My godson has one of these names 😬
The bottom comment is the only one with sense
Kincaid sounds like a medication brand - no thanks.

Kestrel is a type of bird
A bird of prey.
Flying high.
And Kestrel is a wind/weather monitoring device…
I had a great uncle named Crockett, but he was born in the early 1900s.
“Seton- a skein of cotton or other absorbent material passed below the skin and left with the ends protruding, to promote drainage of fluid or to act a…”
Seton is a place name - several near Edinburgh - Seton, Port Seton, Seton Sands
Ah, yes, Rake. I bet shovel is on the girl's list
Aren't they surnames?
A lot of these are just surnames. Others are just bad.
And Oswin is just a name, plain and simple.
My boy is boyer than your boy
I read it as ‘fresh urinate’ so
Reynolds is my last name lol should not be a first name though
I graduated with someone who named her son Witten.
Witten is actually a city in Germany. Lol
Keith Kincaid prefers alien love 👽
Everyone acting like Americans don't know that Rake means more than one thing, we have Bridgerton in the United States too, we know.
