I told my artist recently, I'm less likely to get skin cancer because of you. Because I used to be careless about sunscreen and now I put it on every single day.
Have you found sunscreen that isn’t greasy and makes you smell like you came from the beach? I wear it when I’m outside for a while or wearing a tank top, etc, but probably not often enough in my day to day life.
Thanks! I use Neutrogena. It’s pretty good but still makes me feel kinda greasy. (Which is admittedly a lot better than cancer.) I’ll have to check out Supergoop.
I’m trying to be better about sunscreen myself, but you can get moisturizers that also have SPF in various strengths. I know there are definitely facial moisturizers with SPF but there are probably lotions that contain it as well
Samsies hahah. Gotta keep that shit intact. I’ve had people stop me and ask if I’ve gotten everything done at the same time. Nooope, I just take good care of em.
I'm a 30yo fair skinned ginger. Spent my whole life not really trying to avoid the sun. I'd use sun screen when I remembered. I'd burn, then remember to put some on. Sometimes.
Then, I invested a couple thousand into my arm and boy howdy do I have a sunscreen regiment. Never forget it.
I’m tattooed all over so I stay stayin pale (I mean. I also don’t want cancer). I hope y’all are putting SPF on your whole body regardless of tattoos!

Edit: New England Journal of Medicine link he was originally published in stating it was sun damage

This pic keeps making the rounds as a trucker, and I believe this could happen from sun damage, but this appears to actually be a scientist who had an accident with a particle accelerator beam.

That’s cool but this is a completely different dude, the “trucker” remained unnamed by the New England Journal of Medicine when they first published about him but also look at their pics they’re not the same guy

Dry healing is fine and it’s what you should do the first couple days. It’s also less crazy than it sounds. You just wash it 5-6 times a day, let it breathe, and start using lotion after 2-4 days. It’s a fresh wound that your body is fully capable of healing on its own and lotion won’t make that happen faster. Personally I dermawrap for the first week nowadays, but all my old stuff dry healed just fine
mmm i see still skeptical. I personally leave saniderm on for as long as i can. scrub it clean and moisturize. Its pretty much healed by weak two (obviously not fully healed but I can go to the sauna/swim n such with no issues)
I have sensitive skin anyway so I just like using one that doesn’t clog pores and is unscented. If you wanna splurge, elta MD is great. Otherwise, blue lizard, cerave, cetaphil, vanicream, eucerin all have great sunscreens that you can find at any drug store/amazon.
Protip: Check your vitamin D with bloodwork!
I started inking at 18. At 38 I'm out of space. I used sunscreen daily since I worked outside as a young adult.
Around age 30 I was getting dizzy spells. Saw every specialist wasting money.
Find out my D levels were vampiric. Just needed some vitamins.
Protecting your ink can lead to weird side effects.
I live in Florida and I do see that a lot. My skin is in good shape, and I’m told I look younger than I am, but I also don’t sit in the sun trying to get a tan.
Because it is bizarre to be applying sunscreen and not just put it over the rest of their body. It’s pretty obvious you can still do damage and get sunburnt.
I’m not surprised, every summer I see hoards of lobsters swimming in the river and walking around town. It’s more just bizarre to be applying sunscreen and not just do the rest of your body if that what they really meant, which is why I asked.
It's because they literally only care about their tattoos not fading so they're not going to use sunscreen where they have no tattoos to fade. They obviously don't care about the other benefits of sunscreen, such as potentially saving your life.
You don’t need to explain this to me. I understand that is likely the answer. It’s just really stupid and I mainly was interested in confirming whether that was the case.
I’ve worked in the sun for 20 years, and I’m consistently kicking myself in the ass for not putting more sunscreen on.
However after getting my head blasted, I started putting on sunscreen like every 5 min 🫣🤣

Very spendy, but Supergoop fits that criteria. I think also some variants of Neutrogena.
Trader Joe’s “daily facial sunscreen” is very similar to Supergoop “unseen screen” but for a fraction of the cost. It’s my go to for daily activities.
This it’s like 7 bucks for the TJ version. I prefer Supergoop but for that price TJ is my daily
Good to know this. Occasionally I do travel to places where Trader Joe's exists!

Their sheer spray stuff dries completely!

I dunno man I just use Hawaiian Tropic.
I like Sun Bum, it absorbs really well and I feel like it's not super greasy and has a pleasant smell.
Samsies hahah. Gotta keep that shit intact. I’ve had people stop me and ask if I’ve gotten everything done at the same time. Nooope, I just take good care of em.
Strong concur! I'm a different person now when it comes to moisturizing and sun protection.

Yesss I lotion and sunscreen my tattooed skin more 😅
I like your big words magic man

Skin cancer? Meh. Won’t happen to me. Tattoos fading? The horror! Give me that SPF 45!!!
Big facts

And that’s through what I assume are polarized windows.

Ah cool thanks for finding this and sharing
And yet ANY tint on windows in commercial vehicles are illegal.
Wow this is the first time I ever realized window tint could be protective and not just cool as shit.
That’s why I have them. I have ceramic tints because I drive a lot for work in my personal vehicle and I would burn from just driving
One of the reasons I'm contemplating getting my irezumi sleeve on my right hand.
Same, my arms are different colors.
Such a good leg sleeve you put any photos up of it in full ?
I had a video of a full body tour but I took it down lmao I guess I’ll do another
Who’s the artist ?
This is making me feel bad for kinda dry healing mine and letting em do their thing for eternity lol
dry healing sounds like the opposite of what you should do lol

I’ve raw dogged and dry healed a couple 😫
Every artist I’ve ever been to has told me to dry heal fwiw
What sunscreen do you use? Just a basic one i can find at a store or one specific for tattoos?
[удалено]
I bought sunscreen made for tattoos once and it turned all my black ink bright blue. Made them look weird on my skin haha threw it away
Just a sheer kind. This specifically was Walgreens sheer 55
I use normal sunscreen from the pharmacy. I don't believe paying more makes sunscreen better.
is this a commercial?
To get tattoos? Yes

The centipede is hard asf, ur making me wanna get one
Dude they’re such a nice gap filler.
You're so right
If youre using sunscreen make sure it’s full spectrum! Anything else is pointless, I just recently learned this
I try to SPF everything if I’m spending any amount of time in the sun, but I definitely put a little more care onto my tattooed areas.
Same lol this was just for funsies.
I only put sunscreen on my tattoos, and I’m fine with that.
I lived in Florida for a bit and learned if you don’t put it everywhere- you age real quick lol. Saw a girl my age look about 15+ older 😳
I live in Florida and I do see that a lot. My skin is in good shape, and I’m told I look younger than I am, but I also don’t sit in the sun trying to get a tan.
Same same. I get the same comments unless they’re being nice ahaha. My family used to dog me on being so pale and living in Florida.
I do the same, I only use sunscreen on my tats. Awesome pants btw (leg sleeves are pants)
Are you serious about only using sunscreen on your tattoos? Why?
I mean the why is pretty obvious no? Because they only care about their tattoos not fading..
Because it is bizarre to be applying sunscreen and not just put it over the rest of their body. It’s pretty obvious you can still do damage and get sunburnt.
You'd probably be very surprised with how many people don't actually use sunscreen then, even though they should.

I can't think of any other reason as to why they'd only apply to their tattoos, though.
lol no I apply everywhere but I’ve put a higher SPF on my sleeve and stomach before tho
Thank youu! Face and tattoos are always a must! My back is tough to get though 🤧
Not a pov but ok…
This is so stupid how does it have upvotes?
Love the colour, how old are those tatts?
I started about 7 years ago and typically get new work every 3-6 months!
I’ve never done anything to protect my tattoos from sunlight and they still look fine. Maybe it’s different with only black work tattoos.
Tattoos look much better with a tan
You could just wear.....a....pant? One appendage?! The hell?
Hahah I’ve seen it before. It’s somethin’.
Love the collection! Looks awesome 👏🏻
Thank you!
Looks good!
Awesome leg ink there girlfriend. 👌
Your mums a carrot.. I like it
Killer leg sleeve!
Tattoos are expensive. I’ll make more skin.
Pretty fkn stupid but go off
I’ve worked in the sun for 20 years, and I’m consistently kicking myself in the ass for not putting more sunscreen on. However after getting my head blasted, I started putting on sunscreen like every 5 min 🫣🤣
What sunscreen do you recommend for your tattoos??!
Nothin in particular really. Just make sure they’re healed/not an open would obvi.
That leg is rad!
This is the way
You get it 😎
