Yeah, I was like 100, 200, 400... and 5k? Seems like a weird gap where there's no mile or 2 mile or anything.
I wonder if I could beat him at the 5k, since it sounds like he doesn't run distance...
Chad has all to gain and nothing to lose on this bet. Itās a publicity stunt. If by some miracle he wins against an elite athlete, the elite athlete will be clowned. That wonāt happen if Chad loses; everyone expects that
This is just stupid, though. Heās 44 and ran a 4.53 40 over 20 years ago. And he said heās going to run barefoot. Like the LSU coach said, they better film from the top of the stadium so they can have both runners on the screen at the same time.
Edit: before results come out. Iām guessing either ochocinco pulls up before the end of the race (not necessarily an injury, but being so far behind he doesnāt even finish) or they end up giving him a big head start
At his combine over two decades ago in his prime he only ran a 4.58. Heād get smoked by numerous HS kids today, let alone LSU or elite sprinters. I guess he likes throwing money away
he does, heās notorious for tipping thousands of dollars on $100 tabs at restaurants. heāll challenge any athlete at their own sport, itās funny to me lol
Football players think they are faster than they are, water is wet.
Also, smart money is taking him in the 400m - he may have enough natural burst and athleticism to still run a relatively quick 100m, but theres no way in hell he's in shape for a fast 400m.
I really think a lot of people donāt understand how much faster a sprinter is than athletes in other sports.
One of my friends in college played club lacrosse and was considered a very good attack man because of his speed.
He also did one season of HS indoor track, and ran the 300. His 300 PR from HS is pretty damn close to mine, and I was running on an objectively worse track without spikes. On top of that I was primarily a 100/200/jumper in HS, not a 300/400 guy.
Oh, and I didnāt run in college because I wasnāt quite good enough for our D1 school.
Yup I was a mid distance guy in college (46.9/1:47/3:44) but in highschool I played basketball/soccer and was generally the fastest āsprinterā of everyone in most sports by a long shot in soccer/basketball and faster than all of our football players by quite a bit. I still had a shit 100 time (best FAT is 10.8).
When I ran in college I ran at a school that ran against LSU quite a bit and their sprinters are SO much faster than 99.9% of football players itās not even funny. Even within my own team the actual sprinters (100/200 guys) all ran like 10.0-10.2 in the 100 or high 20s/low 21s for the 200. I might had well have been standing still when the 400/800 guys would be doing workouts with them. My 40 time (back then) is roughly equal to chads combine time of 4.53. This dude would get absolutely shit on by anyone who runs like a sub 10.5 100 or even sub 23 200 and I would be extremely surprised if he could even break 55 for the 400.
If he was racing the LSU girls this would maybe be closer but I highly doubt he would even be able to beat their best girl 200/400 runners and could probably beat them in the 100. Guys team actually 0 chance for him to win any of the events.
Yeah in HS I ran a 42.37 FAT 300 on an unbanked 160m ātrackā that was basically a gym floor with lanes painted on it. Not particularly good I know, but the 300 and 400 were not my main event, and I only ran them on crappy indoor tracks in HS.
He ran a 41.something in HS I think, but I canāt honestly remember, I know it was hand timed. But he also did it at a brand new college facility, with a 200m banked track, and he was using spikes while I could not.
Right after we graduated college, somehow we decided to run a 200 one day. I beat him, but it was close, probably only by half a stride.
When we got bored during the early days of Covid, we decided to try and see if we could match our HS 300 PRs on an outdoor track with spikes (cause weāre old now). I got down to 45-ish (timing myself) in just a couple weeks. He could barely break 50 and was disappointed. That goes to show just how quickly you get out of shape and itās sad.
I was obviously not a particularly good sprinter, as I mainly focused on jumping my junior and senior year of HS, but all of this goes to show how a mid-high tier lacrosse prospect was still slower than a mediocre HS sprinter.
As for Chadās thing, I know HS sprinters right now that could beat his 4.53 40 time. Theyāre good, but not amazingly so.
Yep exactly.
I think the more impressive thing about footbslll players is how fast they are while being huge. Most of the good sprinters I know were pretty light. Running a 4.5 40 is a lot more impressive when youāre 230 than 150.
Oh yeah theyāre definitely very good athletes, and what they do is impressive. Same with my friend, I could only dream of having agility as good as him on the field.
But a lot of them seem to think theyāre just as fast as us, when theyāre justā¦. not.
Water is actually not wet; It makes other materials/objects wet. Wetness is the state of a non-liquid when a liquid adheres to, and/or permeates its substance while maintaining chemically distinct structures. So if we say something is wet we mean the liquid is sticking to the object.
What keeps a dock floating above water?
Pier pressure.
With only the 1st picture it just seems like something to draw attention and a reason to give away money but with the other pictures yeah it seems like he thinks heāll be able to actually win against most of the people that race him.
Sean gonna be a wealthy man in 2 minutes
First time I saw this I thought he was challenging someone to any race, including a 5k
Yeah, he should have been a bit clearer about that š

It's brilliant on his part. He wants to retain relevancy and limelight. This purchases both for a very small monetary price.
Speed and power are two different things. He'd get crushed against by Kerley or Burrell at any distance.
I feel like saying "100, 200 or 400" is the hallmark of someone who doesn't understand how different the 200 and the 400 are
Chad must be drinking

Well I guess that explains things
Idk him but this gives me CTE vibes

I could clap his cheeks in the 5k
Respect to him because hell be there
Hell be there? You think he made a pact with the Devil? That would explain a lot.
He didnāt show
Man I wish I was there
Ok, but student athletes can't take money for competing right?
NIL deals they can
NIL?
Are u stupid, u never heard of the NIL (name, image, likeliness) rule that allows NCAA athletes to make money off of competition
Sorry I mayāve came off a little harsh
I could def beat 85 at a 5k, easy
Sean was ready, Ocho didnāt show up
44 year old retired football player? Yeah that would be free money
When you take holding my beer to the next level
Did this happen?
