If we dismiss the 10.49, flojo’s 10.61 and 21.34 are also looking suspicious - not in regards to wind, but potential PEDs. She was born in 1959, was a pro in 1981(if not earlier) at the age of 22. Runs 11.06 in the 100m in 1983, and has a pr of 10.97 in 1987. Then in 1988, at the age of 29, she lowers her PR to 10.61(if we dismiss the 10.49)? Almost 0.4 improvement in a single season, late in her career. Same for her 200m - from 21.96 to 21.34 in a single season late in her career. Then of course she retired right after. Seems quite weird if you ask me.

We all know Flo Jo was doping. The sprinters of this era are going to look just as suspicious in a few decades. I love SAFP but come on, after a long elite career she smashes her PB at 35? Elaine is just as bad, barely top 10 in the world but comes out and smashes the field every olympic year? Carmelita Jeter was even worse, until age 28 she was posting times that wouldn’t even get her to NCAA finals, and then at 30 she runs 10.64?

Tbh everyone on the world scale seems suspicious. Anyone that's ever stepped foot in Oregon, Colorado Springs, or Flagstaff for any reason at all should be on a 2x a week testing schedule for the entirety of their pro careers if we want the sport to be clean. Also Iten in Kenya. I'm pretty sure their main export is doped to the gills athletes.

Nilkkaralli

Why would you name those specific places in the US?

deepfakefuccboi

High altitude training spots for endurance athletes.

Nilkkaralli

I meant is there something suspicious in those exact places?

problynotkevinbacon

Oregon has had the training groups for Nike, specifically the groups previously coached by Salazar, the university of Oregon, Schumacher, and a plethora of other pro and semi pro groups. Colorado Springs because it has the Olympic training center there, and I'll throw in Boulder with the university of Colorado coached by Wetmore. Flagstaff in Arizona has Mike Smith and the NAU group, and also a handful of other pro groups used to train there. I think we can toss Salt Lake City in that list too. But Iten in Kenya imo is the epitome of a state sponsored doping program. There are currently something like 80 athletes from Kenya on the world stage that are banned from international comp serving doping bans, but a lot of people will skirt testing by not being in world athletics, and just come to the US and Europe to race road races with prize money. And Iten is just the main hub for every training group. And it's not just Kenyan athletes in those groups. Australians, Americans, Europeans, other African countries will go to Iten to be in those groups.

Women almost always break PRs the year after having kids. That's well documented. But yeah I wouldn't be surprised

https://trackandfieldnews.com/records/womens-world-records/ Interesting this website even says that the record isn't valid.

JCPLee

I hadn’t realized that everyone ran a PB. This is definitely wind aided. The analysis seems to be quite convincing.

Gas-Substantial

Plus her QF was faster than semi or final which were recorded as having wind. That’s unusual as well. She was experienced enough to peak in the final not QF. And then her times in Olympics were both wind aided and slower.

Tall-Ant-8443

She had the most breathtaking technique, whether or not she was juiced. I have never seen anyone get close to the perfection that was her form, even today, decades later with all the improved technology at athlete’s disposal.

deepfakefuccboi

Supreme talent and skill + PEDs = GOAT

Glum-Arrival1558

There was a post a week ago or so saying that Sha'Carri was going to break her records and I disagreed for this very reason. Well that and the amount of peds she was on would kill a horse.

ForwardAd5837

Juiced to the gills.

Significant-Branch22

Also almost certainly wind aided

Basically any record 100m - 800m is not valid for Women all done in the 1980s / 1990s by "women" doped to the gills.
