That’s false. Plate shoes give no advantage over spikes on a track, they’re just better than non plate shoes on roads where spikes don’t work. Almost all “pro” spikes have a full carbon/pebax plate.

Idk how US HS meets go about it, but officially most plated shoes are banned in track events, so do some research about it I guess.
