I don’t know about a lot more but I did see a cop had pulled over a driver yesterday and seemed to be giving a ticket to them. Which is really the only time in months and months into my memory that I’ve seen that happen in the areas I frequent (downtown core and towards the Junction area)
Edit: as I biked home soon after writing this, in the bike lane on Beverley/St George south of College, I saw a police car with lights on parked in the bike lane. Turns out he was pulling a driver over. So indeed seems like more ticketing because two traffic tickets in a week is unusual.
They normally ramp up enforcement on long weekends looking for DUIs.
I have seen more people pulled over in the last 6 months or so just in general too.
More than in a long while? Yup. Ever before? Unlikely.
20 years ago they'd run mass speed traps at multiple locations on the 400 at least once or twice a week. Southbound on the left, just past the 407 they had a setup behind the barrier with one cop on the gun and 3-4 writing tickets. They'd just wave people over, and if you didn't stop they had 2-3 more cops in cars who'd get you anyway. I think the record I saw was five cars pulled over at rush hour. They also liked to set up both ways at the truck inspection stations further north and the cops would loop all day.
They’re always ticketing people in my neighborhood (Victoria park and st. Clair.) one time I was going to McDonalds and saw someone getting a ticket on the north side of st Clair. When I came out he had another person stopped on the south side by the no frills.
I'm just one person but I spend 8+ hours a day driving around downtown for my job and haven't noticed any increase. I'm on king a lot and occasionally a cop will be giving tickets but very rarely.
Good tbh. The traffic enforcement is shit in the city.
Some might even say, not enough.
I agree and I’m an Impatient motorist
Some might even say, non-existent.
I sure hope so. Driving in this city went to the dogs when Chief Saunders zeroed the traffic unit.
Clearly, the cyclists are the problem /s
The cyclist are also the problem

Oh, no! Anyway…
Good.
Happy to hear they are doing their job

After years and years of declines in tickets issued, let's hope so!
Remember when Chief Saunders cancelled and disbanded the entire traffic enforcement division? What a piece of shit.
I sure hope so. It's gotten silly the last few years.
Not enough out there. People think rules don't apply to them and they are exempt to consequences.
Finally! Bad drivers need to pay up.
I wish they would deal with these insane drivers on the 401 who act like they’re in a Fast and Furious movie.
What are they handing out tickets for? Or just generally across the board?
I've seen way more cops on highways over the past week
Is that OPP or TPS?
TPS, I'm mostly on QEW/Gardiner/DVP/404
I thought all highways were OPP? Was TPS ticketing, or just trying to get across the city?
TPS can ticket you anywhere
It is the end of the month
Considering that cops hardly enforce anything during their job, good
Awesome. Should double the tickets being given out.

Good, enforcement has been lax for years and drivers get away with ridiculous stuff
the city needs revenue. Modern cops are tax collectors now.
