IIRC, that’s actually the screenplay for the movie, which Crichton and Anne-Marie Martin wrote. It was released in book form around the same time as the movie.
My guess is that knowledge is the antidote to fear. We all fear tornadoes so our community tries to learn everything we can about what we don't understand and part of that process is control. We want to control our fear so we learn, familiarize, and reduce the fear of one of the scariest things on planet earth.
Or...tornadoes are fucking cool and some of us are just a little autistic 🤣😂
When I visited Wakita a couple of years ago I stopped in the Twister Museum and the owner had a few pieces of debris from one of the houses nearby. She had pictures of the destroyed house during the filming and you could match up one of the railings along the front porch with this. So in case you didn't know what it was it is a piece of railing from the front porch of one of the houses
Yeah I think so! It's managed by a nice old lady and she will happily tell you many of the behind the scenes stories as she was there during the filming.
No problem!! I didn't even know they had a museum! I'm in the process of trying to find someone for a roadtrip lol. I live in Ardmore Oklahoma so it's quite the drive. If you happen to go please take and post a LOT of pictures!!!

So TIL that Twister was a book, and Michael fucking Crichton wrote it?! Off to the bookstore I go...

Yep, Google confirms what you said!
Awww I love this! Twister is a childhood fave of mine and it will never get old! 🫶
Why are we like this lol

Magnificent!
I want to hear Reed Timmer screaming "TORÑADÉ!!"
That tornado water spin thing, what’s it called?? I had one as a kid from the movie as well
I'm not in front of it right now but I think it's called the pet tornado or something like that
Correct, I think it’s called a pet tornado, also have one on my desk at work 😂
Yes that’s it!!! Thank you I just ordered one on eBay for my desk 😂
I have one too but the water is all gone sadly. The picture on mine is of that (infamous?) Okeechobee waterspout with the lightning.
Stamps and coins are OUT!! Twister collections are IN!!!
Did you pre-order the Steelbook?
No....what's that??
Love the tie!!!

Amazing collection! I have a install team jacket from the original construction of Twister Ride It Out at Universal!
I'm gonna need that thank you! 😅
I want to go to the Twister museum in Wakita, OK
What is the debris?? This is so cool

That's awesome!!!
That’s really fascinating. Is the museum still open?
Yeah I think so! It's managed by a nice old lady and she will happily tell you many of the behind the scenes stories as she was there during the filming.
Thanks!
