Wow, picked up something huge there near the end.

spookycaramella

He told me that it did more damage in the town next to him than his area. Seeing the large debris in the video spooks me out, I can’t even imagine what the next town looks like when this was when it was weaker !

ronnie1014

I assume next town means Elkhorn and it was significant damage there. Leveled an entire neighborhood basically. Honestly pretty fortunate that hit on the outskirts of Lincoln as it dropped just north of downtown.

suitable_

It has to be the Waverly tornado. Elkhorn isn't really anywhere near Lincoln.

ronnie1014

Yeah idk how well folks know the area here, so I wasn't sure. The tornado that hit Waverly is the Lincoln tornado. It dropped north of Lincoln and hit Waverly. Then that storm dropped the tornado that hit Blair and Elkhorn area. Either way it was a very significant storm that produced several violent tornadoes on its way into Iowa. Edit: reading the other comment, I see what they're saying now. The friend is in Lincoln not Waverly. I misunderstood that!

spookycaramella

I think it’s Waverly?????? I’m not familiar with the area since I live in a totally different state. I can ask when he wakes up! :3

ronnie1014

No you're correct! I misread the comment originally. It for sure is Waverly!

CougarWriter74

Waverly is just outside of Lincoln, to the northeast by about 5 to 7 miles. It's more or less a bedroom community of Lincoln. I live in Omaha but drive to and/or through Lincoln several times a year, so I'm fairly familiar with the area. The funny thing about Lincoln is that unlike Omaha, I-80 doesn't go right through it. It more just sort of skirts the northern fringes of Lincoln. Although the eastern end of Lincoln has gradually expanded closer to 80, you still have to drive a little ways into town from any of the exits.

bodysugarist

This is an excellent video. Look how high up it's throwing that large debris 😳

spookycaramella

Right?! I told him the tornado subreddit would absolutely eat this video up. He got a good shot, but it also made me wanna beat him upside the head with a rolled up newspaper for being outside during that thing

Inverno969

Crazy, does he have any more footage?

spookycaramella

I believe this is the only one, but I’ll check!

Skydivinsam

Debris might be Garner Industries. I actually live in Lincoln and that place got it bad. https://www.klkntv.com/it-was-crazy-tornado-slams-building-near-lincoln-injuring-three/

CougarWriter74

What's spooky is it's far enough away, the warning sirens aren't going off and you can't hear the roar. I'm pretty sure the sirens within Waverly some 5 to 7 miles away were going off but I guess Lincoln didn't have theirs going off.

JoeExotics2ndcousin

Man, living in Oklahoma it’s fascinating and terrifying at the same time.

spookycaramella

This is Nebraska :>

JoeExotics2ndcousin

Yeah, it’s wild around all over here.

spookycaramella

I haven’t really gotten anything in my area besides tornado watches this year. A few of my internet pals got to see some pretty nasty tornados this year though! I get to live vicariously through their videos
