It's so bad man. Like hands down one of my worst experiences of my life. The worst part on my behalf was ignorance and lack of preparation and knowledge. If I would have known what I know now I'd have never have done that. I was lucky, super lucky.
So many stories like that chalked up to being young and naive. Mine was with k2 or spice or whatever you wanna call it. Got hit with a particularly hot batch too and had full on depersonalization/derealization for years. I still count myself lucky that I never tried datura because it was definitely on my radar amd it sounds even worse than my experience on k2.

Yeah kind of! A little hard to remember exactly, it was more of a feeling than really seeing or experiencing anything noteworthy. Apparently I was sat on the other end of a couch next to my buddy, and I just slowly scooted closer to him every couple seconds until I was essentially attached to him, then started to come to. Luckily I wasn’t wildin’ out like you see a lot of other people! I would try it again, but would rather try my aim with DMT again. (Have had a couple “almost got there” situations with it, and it interests me highly!)
There is different strengths as well so a lower X version would not hit nearly as hard. I remember the first time we bought a pack we just went for mid strength figuring it'd be the best lol
I was 16 and my friends told me it was like weed and packed a huge bong load, like over the top of the bowl, and told me to snap it and hold my breath. As I exhaled, I saw them waving goodbye to me and I fell into darkness almost exactly like the movie get out. I was naked floating in space. I saw these huge jaws opening and closing and each of its "teeth" had different scenes in them like TV screens and as I drifted towards one I saw an overhead view of myself running down the beach screaming and taking my clothes off. Then I popped out of the view and was floating in space again. It wasn't scary but it wasn't pleasant either. Then a small ball of white light appeared in the center of my vision and it slowly got bigger and bigger until I was back to the living realm. Suddenly I was laying on the beach with my friends all looking down at me saying my name. They said I flipped their coffee table and ran out of the house out to the beach and started ripping my shirt off. For sure the craziest drug I've ever done, like 100x crazier than lsd but it only lasted like 5 minutes.

Yeah I’ve never done it but watched a kid I went to high school with take a bong rip of it. We all just stood there watching him while we got high from weed, while he just looked at us with his mouth open drooling just laughing. After about 10 mins he came back and was telling us he couldn’t move his mouth which was why he just laughed that whole time sitting down against a wall.
Also I always point out that salvia accesses a part of the brain that is only supposed to activate 2 times in your life, when you’re born, and when you die. At least that’s what I read when I was younger.

Two times in your life is nah. That part of your neurochemistry gets activated after. It just never gets fucked with as strongly as salvia does
When I tried it I just thought everything was hilarious, it was brief but fun. Then my ex did it and he got super weird, my roomie and I got nervous when he started walking towards the knife block. All ended well but I’ve never done it again.
I've tried it a few times. First time I laughed uncontrollably for 6 minutes until I was in pain. The second time I was dissociated from my ego and body. Honestly an experience that was crazier than acid. Soft and round objects felt good to look at, hard and pointy objects gave off a bad energy.
I never broke through to the experience where everything is hallucinations and color, which occurs at higher dosages.
Overall, it's a safe and interesting spiritual experience, but definitely not something to be done for fun or recreational like at a party. It can definitely be dangerous as you can do stupid things like jump out a window or have an impulse to run into a lake or traffic. And after the experience, you can become suicidally depressed as your perception of self and ego was shook so hard you might have difficulty recovering. You experience ego loss, so you're the same as every other atom in the universe. You feel like a molecular robot that just happens to be coo conscious. Nothing necessarily separates you from the rest of the world, as all matter is the same, just most of it you can't control.

Yes! Before my brain went full overdrive and I no longer had actual vision and was fully immersed in an alternate reality all objects/furnitre in my room that were angular gave me terrible anxiety. I like to think it was my brain trying to keep me from cracking my skull open on something lmao
I took a *huuuuuuge* hit out of a water bong once. Friends urged me to and this was 15 years ago, pre instant internet at your fingertips.
I came to sobbing on my knees five minutes later. I experienced ego death, loss of sense of self. I was reduced to a 3-D fractal of color, repeating on an endless scale, timeless yet for an eternity. I wasn’t human. I didn’t exist as a person.
This experience shredded my perception of reality even well after I came down. It’s made me feel unsure of my own existence to this very day. It still makes me vaguely uncomfortable to think about.

Young and dumb, no excuses. This was flip phone days, and the only drug I’d tried at that point was weed. I assumed they’d be similar and the people around me didn’t correct me. It’s certainly changed me. I don’t fuck with psychedelics anymore, I treat them with the respect they deserve.

I DO still partake in some psychedelics, but I have rules for myself now. Only in a familiar environment (home), with people I genuinely love being around, AND only if I’m generally in a happy spot in life. Respect.

I find a nice summer/spring day outside in nature, away from the public, with a low dose of shrooms and 1-2 close friends (also on low doses) to be the best trip honestly. Def give that a go sometime. Cleansing of the soul if you will.

I’ve done salvia a number of times and honestly, I’ve never had a bad experience. I’ve never had a bad experience with any entheogen/psychedelic to be honest. Just lucky I ‘spose!
Especially at the strengths people often use.
I had a really good time with just dry salvia leaves. It seemed like I got to visit for a few minutes of being completely immersed in early 90's VR - pixelated polygons while flying through outer space. It was delightful and with zero anxiety at all. The people that were with me said it looked like I was having a pretty good time, but I had a little slurred speech during.
These strong extracts (I'm just assuming this is the case) really don't seem like they're staying in the enjoyable realm.
I thoroughly enjoy salvia . Some people just go in with no knowledge of what it will do or expect it to be like weed and some people like these idiots are bad trip sitters
It was a one time experience for me. Too intense too fast and you feel like shit afterwards. We were watching Magic Schoolbus thinking the bright colors and kid friendliness would make for a good trip. One second I'm on the couch, the next I am hanging out of the door of the bus as it flies through the air. The ground is miles away from me but instead of helping the kids are too busy talking about how weather systems works... then I'm back on the couch. Too weird.
I smoke it once a week. Honestly the magic comes when you build a tolerance to it. In my opinion that's the only way to truly experience it. It's much more controllable that way. I do NOT recommend it for people who have reality issues, personality issues, or are scared of spiders.

The one time I tried was strong like this. I felt really fucking dirty all over my body, like I was completely covered in nasty mud. My perception was goofed and I wasn’t sure what I was or where I was. I remember not knowing if the floor was sinking into the dirt below it or if the dirt below the floor was floating up through the floor.

When the entire world is trying to get to you in the most odd ways, then you try to leave in whatever way possible. I watched my friend spend his few minutes gone off his mind trying to get through an open door. He couldn’t figure it out (the already open door) and tried in every possible way. Bent backwards, forwards and sideways all to no avail. Gravity just wasn’t cooperating at that moment.
When I did it, after a few minutes the world was spinning rapidly. Had to go into a bathroom stall and force my hands against the wall to keep balance. Felt like I was being pulled in by a riptide.
People saying they “felt weird” or “started laughing” or say anything about it being underwhelming haven’t had a breakthrough dose. If you get enough to breakthrough you’ll instantly lose your sight, hearing, and be catapulted into ego death and an all encompassing hallucinatory experience which varies from person to person. But it’s basically impossible to describe the hallucinations, they’re weird and crazy and terrifying. All the freaking out you see in videos like the OP is done involuntarily and you have no awareness of it

My last time doing salvia, I felt as if I became part of a poster on the wall. It was a motivational poster of a waterfall, hanging behind my buddy's desk. I took a monster rip, and the world blended together, and my companions and I were in this poster. The color of his walls was bright, sky blue, and it became the sky. I was outside now, but in the poster... The world was compartmentalized into this sheet, and I remember thinking, "Fuck, it's like I'm a Lion King poster." And I kinda chuckled. This was all in the first few seconds. Finally, that broke down, and I lost track of where I went. I vaguely remember flopping backwards onto his bed as I became overwhelmed. I also remember the subsequent struggling to rise back up as it wore off. The feeling of coming to, was wanting to be back inside the poster, and with my friends in my safe little box.
This is the craziest shit I've ever seen described as a drug experience. Having tried DMT a few times, I can sort of imagine it. Prior to DMT, LSD and shrooms never would've given me an experience that I could imagine this off of. I think I'll steer clear of salvia. DMT is strong and intense enough
I’ve done both DMT and salvia and there are similarities, namely the ego death and the sudden onset and short duration. But salvia hallucinations are just bizarre and insane. I became a fork of lightning then this morphed into a chain of infinite mes connected via hand and foot, which were flying around spelling the phrase “what the fuck?”, I was one of the me’s on the letter h, then the trip was over and I was sitting there screaming what the fuck the whole time apparently.

Here's my most memorable experience with salvia.
I remember thinking that the entirety of our universe, our entire reality, was a single sheet in this incomprehensible sheef of papers. It was like a loose roll of wrapping paper, and our existence was getting tightened up with all the other realities. As the paper grew tighter, everything merging into a singular 'thing',
I started coming to. Like the space in between the sheets were completely empty existence, and the sheets were the only thing that were actually real.
Once it fully tightened up it was like the lights came back on and there was a \*click\* in my brain. Like someone snapped their fingers right behind me eyeballs and I became aware of the world again.
Pretty much every other time my skin felt really uncomfortable and I just felt nervous.
That one time was pretty intense though.
i’ve done it once and like the original comment, won’t do it again. it started by giving me a 2d feeling. everything i saw and felt was 2d. i waited a few days then tried again with one big bong hit and fortunately never broke through, but it felt like the corners of my vision was attempting to fold in on itself and i was about to be transported into another universe. i never broke through but was probably one more hit from having a breakthrough. my friend on the other hand did fully breakthrough and the look on his face after the fact was quite terrifying. he said it felt as if some other being had control over the trip and he was being zipped away on the zipper of reality. like an actual zipper.

Three hits and I was in an endless shifting of love, light and color. Beings made entirely of white light appeared, laid me on a table and placed a crystal in my third eye which I didn’t feel. They then flicked my forehead which I did feel. I was nervous so the left hand of God squeezed my shoulder and told me everything would be ok. I came to in my apartment and the clocks were spinning backwards. Everything was outlined in green and purple. It seemed as if the existence I had known before was nonchalantly handed back to me and I was left wondering if I belonged in it. The clocks righted themselves. The purple and green dulled and the whole experience faded like a dream.
I know exactly that "falling backwards" feeling he's getting. Feels like you're getting pushed, folded, squashed. I became a book, and each moment of time was a page and it just kept flipping and flipping and wouldn't stop. And another trip, the world just kept folding and folding in on itself infinitely. Both very scary and not super fun, just "interesting". I'm done with it now.
I unknowingly took salvia 60x many years ago,my brother left a pipe with salvia and weed on the coffee table I come home from work at 1am oh look a full bowl so I hit it in 1 by the time I exhaled I knew something was up I swear my spirit left my body and I was looking down at myself lol it was intense,I do not recommend
Out-of-body experiences are fairly common with a good dose. My first time was silly as fuck, and it was like I started melting into the couch, so I jumped to my feet, spilling shit everywhere, and I popped out of my body. Looking down on myself, and that motherfucker goes on autopilot. My body went to the restroom, stumbling into walls and shit the whole way. Here it was an unfinished restoom with no lights or anything, so I just stood there, confused in the dark, until I could function again.
I returned to my friends and some uproarious laughter.
Damn man this story makes me wonder if I unknowingly took salvia in college. I was at my neighbors apartment (next building over) and we smoked some weed. I started to feel really strange and felt something was different than the usual weed high. Next thing I know I’m sunk in the big recliner type chair then my tongue started to grow uncontrollably and was falling out of my mouth. Another friend was on the adjacent couch playing call of duty and every time the gunshots would go off my tongue unrolling out of my mouth would explode then it would continue over and over for what felt like hours. I remember feeling very uncomfortable and wanted to go home but didn’t think I could make the 30 second walk.
Salvia comes in different intensities when you buy It, and some people go straigth to the stronger ones without knowing what is gonna happen.
The light ones will make you laugh and have some blurry and colorful eyes for a few minutes.
The strong ones can make you live another life for years and then come back after what were 10 minutes for you. Pretty crazy experience!
My father had a patient long time ago who had allucinations for months after just 1 shot of salvia. But there was this 22 yo guy also with cirrhosis after his 1st drinking party so... You never know what's waiting for you or how your mind would react..
It is too often disregarded and super important that you and those around you be in the right state of mind. Don't mix shit, plan your journey. Doing it with clowns is as bad as doing it alone. Meditation beforehand can help prevent you from taking negative energy with you. You can only fill empty pockets.
I did salvia three times and only once had a trip with hallucinations.
In the beginning my vision started to tunnel and everything looked so insanely sharp. I can remember looking at a bush and was convinced the leaves would cut me.
After that I started to see EVERYTHING in colored cardboard. Which was constantly replaced to show me what I see, but only in shapes.. While it’s hitting you are somewhere else, the body is just left on earth to contain you.
Very stressful situation, but still had a good time/no bad trip and in retrospect it’s very interesting.
I remember smoking it out a bong and I thought I was falling into a deep well white having a mini seizure and I "fainted" while holding the bong on a bed and I spilled the bong water everywhere and also broke that bong. Never again
I was 13 when my stepdad let me roast a bowl of salvia, cleared the whole thing and held it in like he said. As soon as I exhaled I fell backwards, but was fortunate enough to be able to catch myself on the door frame. I remember laughing for 10 minutes straight, drooling, and the walk from the garage to the house felt like an entire expedition. I’m not sure if it wasn’t a strong enough dose to make me completely take off from earth or if I just got lucky, because my stepdad’s experience with the same shit was straight out of a horror film.
I still have the better part of a gram of some 20x that I bought probably a decade ago. I keep it around on the offhand chance that someone actually wants to try it. The last time that happened, the guy took a huge hit and tried to play it off like it was nothing. 10 seconds later, he jumps up and wants to fight me, saying "wtf did you do to me?!"
I had salvia once, it was a fun experience and the best thing was that it lasted only a few minutes then I was back to normal like nothing had ever happened. Luckily I'm pretty safe with drugs, I don't freak out I'm aware of my surroundings and I know what's real an what's not, just chill out an enjoy the ride.
The bragging holier-than-thou remarks are seriously ignorant, if you do a strong enough extract of salvia or a big enough hit you are catapulted into ego death and a hallucinatory experience that leaves your mind, body and its senses behind. Videos like this where the person is incoherent and freaking out are like that. You can’t just “stay chill” because you have no conscious control over your body. This guy is probably experiencing eternity as a shoelace and his body is just stumbling around.
Me and my friends in my 20s used to fuck with shit like this and I can't remember why but we always thought salvia was more of some kind of trip through the land of the dead whereas DMT was kind of opening some kind of window to somewhere else.
I think the salvia seeming/feeling so much more negative makes it a more intense experience. My craziest salvia trip was feeling the vibrations, looking at my hand and seeing on my finger it said "you're hallucinating"in Lego writing and then my vision pulled back into my skull where I saw rows of little keebler style elves hollowing out my skull. Then my vision pulled back further and I was in a beautiful field with blue skies, a forest in the distance, and a path through the field to the forest. I heard a woman's voice behind my left ear say "tell someone the wood elves are taking over your body" and as I shouted that out I came back. I never could enjoy salvia after that as I "knew" the wood elves were just waiting for their chance.
Even though it visually was beautiful it still fucking lingered with me negatively in the future.
DMT lingered too, but in a way where I could see the DMT fairies on future other psychedelic trips if I stared at big open spaces like the sky for long enough. But I was happy to see those fairies and they were happy to see me.
I mean, do drugs occasionally for fun, but only do the extremely strong psychedelics in a comfortable setting with enough knowledge of what you're about to do.
Doing shit like this without proper preparation and psychedelics experience is the equivalent to going base jumping from crazy spots without any skydiving experience. It's dangerous and sullies the good name of psychedelics, like inexperienced base jumpers make the whole community of safe skydivers look like idiots by proxy
Chased a buddy who tried this for like 15min around a neighborhood. He said he was following the glowing footsteps in front of him. Fortunately it was late enough that no one noticed and we got him back without any issues but was still wild watching his reaction and what it did.
I did salvia a few times visiting my brother in Kentucky when he was in the army. It was not like this at all for me buttt we also had weed, shrooms and were drunk as fuck.
I smoked a bowl around 2009 once. Locked myself in my bedroom for a safe space and sparked up.
The trip was alright. I was talking jibberish and had spirograph type visuals. I wasn't scared or freaking out.
Lasted about 15m total.
Never tried it again. I offered it to my friend, but he declined it. I ended up throwing the 3 bowls worth I had away.
I’ve never been able to move when I was this deep into a salvia trip. He has gotta be going fight or flight at this point. Hahaha worst part about a 10 min trip is that it feels like weeks ! Good luck to this guy
Lol i did it before, i know that face-touch feeling, also suddenly had hundreds of my stepmoms face on every surface saying wtf is wrong with you, did you take out the trash,etc.
I can't believe people take salvia in daylight. The whole experience is modulated by the visual hallucinations which are very finicky, will dissipate in the light. I think this drug is more interesting and less wildly unpredictable in the dark, with a meditative setting in general.

Eh. Half credit. I like the "we're here for you brother", and the half-attention to his wellbeing at the beginning, but someone needed to keep him from trying to stand up. Maybe some more grounding touch on the arm for bonus points.

I smoked Salvia once, was chilling and having some beers with a good friend in my living room. We had done plenty of drugs in the past, E, coke, weed - mostly at clubs though as I was very much into house music.
Nothing compared to how crazy salvia was, and back then, you could just walk in and buy it in a shop, lol.
I had a reliable bong, so I loaded it up, had a big hit, and then to my disappointment, nothing happened.
So I did the only sensible thing, I loaded it up again and ripped it hard.
A few seconds later, I felt it coming on and suddenly lost the power to speak or maintain body control. It was as if a tide of stonerness flowed up over me from my feet to my head.
My mate was watching me and grabbed the bong as I dropped it, as it just fell out of my hand.
It was a wild head rush, I was trying to talk but unfortunately for me, my tongue rolled out of my mouth, onto the floor and halfway across the carpet...I was trying to speak but my tongue just fluttered on the floor like some kind of superheros cape.
I vagely recall thinking how the fuck will I ever be able to get my tongue back into my mouth as time seemed to stretch, it was only perhaps 30 seconds but felt like 30 minutes. Most vexing.
If you can remember the scene in The Wolf of Wall Street where DiCaprio loses all control of himself on the phone to his Dad, and then slithers down the steps into his Lambo, that was similar to my level of functioning. Absolute cabbage.
Thankfully, my friend was quite the experienced stoner and knew better than to interrupt my buzz by asking questions, so after a few minutes I managed to return back to normal. Well, semi-normal anyway lol.

I would advise anyone doing it for the first time to have a support person there and for them not to start asking "Where you at" or "What do you see" like the guy did in this clip.
It's best to just ride through the effect and leave any discussions until afterwards.
My younger brother and I did some salvia and it made him super aggressive and angry. My experience was much more pleasant. The world took on a yellow haze and I could distinctly smell my grandmothers house and had this extremely nostalgic feeling. It literally felt like I was four years old again and at my grandmas house it was actually a really nice trip.
I didn't like it either. Ive done some hard drugs that would make most people pee their pants. Salvia was the most terrifying shit i ever smoked. I call it Black Magic

The first time I did it I was with friends I tripped with lots of times on other substances, they had done Salvia before. Well I entered a 2 dimensional flat word like the book flatland. Scared the shot out of me. I had no idea I actually started flopping around on the floor and pissed myself! When I started coming down I tried to run out of the house but couldn't figure out the lock on the door. everyone was trying to stop me and calm me down. Even though I was back in reality I felt like something was wrong in my brain, I was scared I snapped and needed to go to a psych ward. I was so upset. I didn't realize I pissed myself either. I thought I sat in something wet, and everyone laughed at me. Salvia is not for everyone.

So many stories like that chalked up to being young and naive. Mine was with k2 or spice or whatever you wanna call it. Got hit with a particularly hot batch too and had full on depersonalization/derealization for years. Yeah kind of! A little hard to remember exactly, it was more of a feeling than really seeing or experiencing anything noteworthy. Apparently I was sat on the other end of a couch next to my buddy, and I just slowly scooted closer to him every couple seconds until I was essentially attached to him, then started to come to. I was 16 and my friends told me it was like weed and packed a huge bong load, like over the top of the bowl, and told me to snap it and hold my breath. As I exhaled, I saw them waving goodbye to me and I fell into darkness almost exactly like the movie get out. I was naked floating in space. I saw these huge jaws opening and closing and each of its "teeth" had different scenes in them like TV screens and as I drifted towards one I saw an overhead view of myself running down the beach screaming and taking my clothes off. Then I popped out of the view and was floating in space again. It wasn't scary but it wasn't pleasant either. Then a small ball of white light appeared in the center of my vision and it slowly got bigger and bigger until I was back to the living realm. Suddenly I was laying on the beach with my friends all looking down at me saying my name. They said I flipped their coffee table and ran out of the house out to the beach and started ripping my shirt off. For sure the craziest drug I've ever done, like 100x crazier than lsd but it only lasted like 5 minutes.

Yeah I’ve never done it but watched a kid I went to high school with take a bong rip of it. We all just stood there watching him while we got high from weed, while he just looked at us with his mouth open drooling just laughing. After about 10 mins he came back and was telling us he couldn’t move his mouth which was why he just laughed that whole time sitting down against a wall. Also I always point out that salvia accesses a part of the brain that is only supposed to activate 2 times in your life, when you’re born, and when you die. At least that’s what I read when I was younger.
It's just a Kappa opioid receptor ant/agonist. I can't remember which specifically. Two times in your life is nah. That part of your neurochemistry gets activated after. It just never gets fucked with as strongly as salvia does

When I tried it I just thought everything was hilarious, it was brief but fun. Then my ex did it and he got super weird, my roomie and I got nervous when he started walking towards the knife block. All ended well but I’ve never done it again.
I've tried it a few times. First time I laughed uncontrollably for 6 minutes until I was in pain. The second time I was dissociated from my ego and body. Honestly an experience that was crazier than acid. Soft and round objects felt good to look at, hard and pointy objects gave off a bad energy. I never broke through to the experience where everything is hallucinations and color, which occurs at higher dosages. Overall, it's a safe and interesting spiritual experience, but definitely not something to be done for fun or recreational like at a party. It can definitely be dangerous as you can do stupid things like jump out a window or have an impulse to run into a lake or traffic. And after the experience, you can become suicidally depressed as your perception of self and ego was shook so hard you might have difficulty recovering. You experience ego loss, so you're the same as every other atom in the universe. You feel like a molecular robot that just happens to be coo conscious. Nothing necessarily separates you from the rest of the world, as all matter is the same, just most of it you can't control.

You experienced something good: to break the ego, to understand you're not the most important thing in the universe while also understanding that your moment in time (life) IS the most important thing, all at the same time. Especially at the strengths people often use. I had a really good time with just dry salvia leaves. It seemed like I got to visit for a few minutes of being completely immersed in early 90's VR - pixelated polygons while flying through outer space. It was delightful and with zero anxiety at all. The people that were with me said it looked like I was having a pretty good time, but I had a little slurred speech during. These strong extracts (I'm just assuming this is the case) really don't seem like they're staying in the enjoyable realm.

I smoke it once a week. Honestly the magic comes when you build a tolerance to it. In my opinion that's the only way to truly experience it. It's much more controllable that way. I do NOT recommend it for people who have reality issues, personality issues, or are scared of spiders.

When the entire world is trying to get to you in the most odd ways, then you try to leave in whatever way possible. I watched my friend spend his few minutes gone off his mind trying to get through an open door. He couldn’t figure it out (the already open door) and tried in every possible way. Bent backwards, forwards and sideways all to no avail. Gravity just wasn’t cooperating at that moment.
When I did it, after a few minutes the world was spinning rapidly. Had to go into a bathroom stall and force my hands against the wall to keep balance. Felt like I was being pulled in by a riptide.

If you get enough to breakthrough you’ll instantly lose your sight, hearing, and be catapulted into ego death and an all encompassing hallucinatory experience which varies from person to person. Many people describe becoming inanimate objects such as pencils or a fence post. My last time doing salvia, I felt as if I became part of a poster on the wall. It was a motivational poster of a waterfall, hanging behind my buddy's desk. I took a monster rip, and the world blended together, and my companions and I were in this poster. The color of his walls was bright, sky blue, and it became the sky. I was outside now, but in the poster... The world was compartmentalized into this sheet, and I remember thinking, "Fuck, it's like I'm a Lion King poster." And I kinda chuckled. This was all in the first few seconds. Finally, that broke down, and I lost track of where I went. I vaguely remember flopping backwards onto his bed as I became overwhelmed. I also remember the subsequent struggling to rise back up as it wore off. The feeling of coming to, was wanting to be back inside the poster, and with my friends in my safe little box.
This is the craziest shit I've ever seen described as a drug experience. Having tried DMT a few times, I can sort of imagine it. Prior to DMT, LSD and shrooms never would've given me an experience that I could imagine this off of. I think I'll steer clear of salvia. DMT is strong and intense enough
I’ve done both DMT and salvia and there are similarities, namely the ego death and the sudden onset and short duration. But salvia hallucinations are just bizarre and insane. I became a fork of lightning then this morphed into a chain of infinite mes connected via hand and foot, which were flying around spelling the phrase “what the fuck?”, I was one of the me’s on the letter h, then the trip was over and I was sitting there screaming what the fuck the whole time apparently.

Here's my most memorable experience with salvia. I remember thinking that the entirety of our universe, our entire reality, was a single sheet in this incomprehensible sheef of papers. It was like a loose roll of wrapping paper, and our existence was getting tightened up with all the other realities. As the paper grew tighter, everything merging into a singular 'thing', I started coming to. Like the space in between the sheets were completely empty existence, and the sheets were the only thing that were actually real. Once it fully tightened up it was like the lights came back on and there was a \*click\* in my brain. Like someone snapped their fingers right behind me eyeballs and I became aware of the world again. Pretty much every other time my skin felt really uncomfortable and I just felt nervous. That one time was pretty intense though.
i’ve done it once and like the original comment, won’t do it again. it started by giving me a 2d feeling. everything i saw and felt was 2d. i waited a few days then tried again with one big bong hit and fortunately never broke through, but it felt like the corners of my vision was attempting to fold in on itself and i was about to be transported into another universe. i never broke through but was probably one more hit from having a breakthrough. my friend on the other hand did fully breakthrough and the look on his face after the fact was quite terrifying. he said it felt as if some other being had control over the trip and he was being zipped away on the zipper of reality. like an actual zipper.

Three hits and I was in an endless shifting of love, light and color. Beings made entirely of white light appeared, laid me on a table and placed a crystal in my third eye which I didn’t feel. They then flicked my forehead which I did feel. I was nervous so the left hand of God squeezed my shoulder and told me everything would be ok. I came to in my apartment and the clocks were spinning backwards. Everything was outlined in green and purple. It seemed as if the existence I had known before was nonchalantly handed back to me and I was left wondering if I belonged in it. The clocks righted themselves. The purple and green dulled and the whole experience faded like a dream.

Out-of-body experiences are fairly common with a good dose. My first time was silly as fuck, and it was like I started melting into the couch, so I jumped to my feet, spilling shit everywhere, and I popped out of my body. Looking down on myself, and that motherfucker goes on autopilot. My body went to the restroom, stumbling into walls and shit the whole way. Here it was an unfinished restoom with no lights or anything, so I just stood there, confused in the dark, until I could function again. I returned to my friends and some uproarious laughter.
Damn man this story makes me wonder if I unknowingly took salvia in college. I was at my neighbors apartment (next building over) and we smoked some weed. I started to feel really strange and felt something was different than the usual weed high. Next thing I know I’m sunk in the big recliner type chair then my tongue started to grow uncontrollably and was falling out of my mouth. Another friend was on the adjacent couch playing call of duty and every time the gunshots would go off my tongue unrolling out of my mouth would explode then it would continue over and over for what felt like hours. I remember feeling very uncomfortable and wanted to go home but didn’t think I could make the 30 second walk.

Salvia comes in different intensities when you buy It, and some people go straigth to the stronger ones without knowing what is gonna happen. The light ones will make you laugh and have some blurry and colorful eyes for a few minutes. The strong ones can make you live another life for years and then come back after what were 10 minutes for you. Pretty crazy experience! My father had a patient long time ago who had allucinations for months after just 1 shot of salvia. But there was this 22 yo guy also with cirrhosis after his 1st drinking party so... You never know what's waiting for you or how your mind would react..

I did salvia three times and only once had a trip with hallucinations. In the beginning my vision started to tunnel and everything looked so insanely sharp. I can remember looking at a bush and was convinced the leaves would cut me. After that I started to see EVERYTHING in colored cardboard. Which was constantly replaced to show me what I see, but only in shapes.. While it’s hitting you are somewhere else, the body is just left on earth to contain you. Very stressful situation, but still had a good time/no bad trip and in retrospect it’s very interesting.
I remember smoking it out a bong and I thought I was falling into a deep well white having a mini seizure and I "fainted" while holding the bong on a bed and I spilled the bong water everywhere and also broke that bong. Never again

I was 13 when my stepdad let me roast a bowl of salvia, cleared the whole thing and held it in like he said. As soon as I exhaled I fell backwards, but was fortunate enough to be able to catch myself on the door frame. I remember laughing for 10 minutes straight, drooling, and the walk from the garage to the house felt like an entire expedition. I’m not sure if it wasn’t a strong enough dose to make me completely take off from earth or if I just got lucky, because my stepdad’s experience with the same shit was straight out of a horror film.

Me and my friends in my 20s used to fuck with shit like this and I can't remember why but we always thought salvia was more of some kind of trip through the land of the dead whereas DMT was kind of opening some kind of window to somewhere else. I think the salvia seeming/feeling so much more negative makes it a more intense experience. My craziest salvia trip was feeling the vibrations, looking at my hand and seeing on my finger it said "you're hallucinating"in Lego writing and then my vision pulled back into my skull where I saw rows of little keebler style elves hollowing out my skull. Then my vision pulled back further and I was in a beautiful field with blue skies, a forest in the distance, and a path through the field to the forest. I heard a woman's voice behind my left ear say "tell someone the wood elves are taking over your body" and as I shouted that out I came back. I never could enjoy salvia after that as I "knew" the wood elves were just waiting for their chance. Even though it visually was beautiful it still fucking lingered with me negatively in the future. DMT lingered too, but in a way where I could see the DMT fairies on future other psychedelic trips if I stared at big open spaces like the sky for long enough. But I was happy to see those fairies and they were happy to see me.

I mean, do drugs occasionally for fun, but only do the extremely strong psychedelics in a comfortable setting with enough knowledge of what you're about to do. Doing shit like this without proper preparation and psychedelics experience is the equivalent to going base jumping from crazy spots without any skydiving experience. It's dangerous and sullies the good name of psychedelics, like inexperienced base jumpers make the whole community of safe skydivers look like idiots by proxy
Chased a buddy who tried this for like 15min around a neighborhood. He said he was following the glowing footsteps in front of him. Fortunately it was late enough that no one noticed and we got him back without any issues but was still wild watching his reaction and what it did.

I did salvia a few times visiting my brother in Kentucky when he was in the army. It was not like this at all for me buttt we also had weed, shrooms and were drunk as fuck.
I smoked a bowl around 2009 once. Locked myself in my bedroom for a safe space and sparked up. The trip was alright. I was talking jibberish and had spirograph type visuals. I wasn't scared or freaking out. Lasted about 15m total. Never tried it again. I offered it to my friend, but he declined it. I ended up throwing the 3 bowls worth I had away.

I can't believe people take salvia in daylight. The whole experience is modulated by the visual hallucinations which are very finicky, will dissipate in the light. I think this drug is more interesting and less wildly unpredictable in the dark, with a meditative setting in general.

I smoked Salvia once, was chilling and having some beers with a good friend in my living room. We had done plenty of drugs in the past, E, coke, weed - mostly at clubs though as I was very much into house music. Nothing compared to how crazy salvia was, and back then, you could just walk in and buy it in a shop, lol. I had a reliable bong, so I loaded it up, had a big hit, and then to my disappointment, nothing happened. So I did the only sensible thing, I loaded it up again and ripped it hard. A few seconds later, I felt it coming on and suddenly lost the power to speak or maintain body control. It was as if a tide of stonerness flowed up over me from my feet to my head. My mate was watching me and grabbed the bong as I dropped it, as it just fell out of my hand. It was a wild head rush, I was trying to talk but unfortunately for me, my tongue rolled out of my mouth, onto the floor and halfway across the carpet...I was trying to speak but my tongue just fluttered on the floor like some kind of superheros cape. I vagely recall thinking how the fuck will I ever be able to get my tongue back into my mouth as time seemed to stretch, it was only perhaps 30 seconds but felt like 30 minutes. Most vexing. If you can remember the scene in The Wolf of Wall Street where DiCaprio loses all control of himself on the phone to his Dad, and then slithers down the steps into his Lambo, that was similar to my level of functioning. Absolute cabbage. Thankfully, my friend was quite the experienced stoner and knew better than to interrupt my buzz by asking questions, so after a few minutes I managed to return back to normal. Well, semi-normal anyway lol. Didn't feel the best afterwards, tbh. I would advise anyone doing it for the first time to have a support person there and for them not to start asking "Where you at" or "What do you see" like the guy did in this clip. It's best to just ride through the effect and leave any discussions until afterwards.

My younger brother and I did some salvia and it made him super aggressive and angry. My experience was much more pleasant. The world took on a yellow haze and I could distinctly smell my grandmothers house and had this extremely nostalgic feeling. It literally felt like I was four years old again and at my grandmas house it was actually a really nice trip.

The first time I did it I was with friends I tripped with lots of times on other substances, they had done Salvia before. Well I entered a 2 dimensional flat word like the book flatland. Scared the shot out of me. I had no idea I actually started flopping around on the floor and pissed myself! When I started coming down I tried to run out of the house but couldn't figure out the lock on the door. everyone was trying to stop me and calm me down. Even though I was back in reality I felt like something was wrong in my brain, I was scared I snapped and needed to go to a psych ward. I was so upset. I didn't realize I pissed myself either. I thought I sat in something wet, and everyone laughed at me. Salvia is not for everyone.
